When I was choosing my bridesmaids’ dresses, I wanted my girls to have all different bridesmaid dresses, but I couldn’t quite figure out how to do it. I thought about going and getting paint chips from my local home improvement store, and then distributing them to my bridesmaids. I couldn’t quite decide on a color, and in the end, it just all seemed like too much of a hassle and I ended up just choosing the same dress for everyone. I definitely wish I had figured out how to have different bridesmaid dresses, because in my opinion, it always looks awesome in photos!

Well friends, I’m excited to share this easy way that you can have all different bridesmaid dresses! Our friends at Dessy have a Twist Wrap dress that enables your girls to choose exactly how they want to wear their dress. This green and white nature inspired wedding, full of burlap and babies breath, is so refreshingly beautiful. The bride, Ashley, drew her inspiration from how her groom, Eduardo, first told her he loved her- using the comparison of planting a seed in her heart in hopes of it becoming a tree. ArtPhotoSoul Photographers captured the lovely result of incorporating wood elements, burlap, and succulents with an elegant, rustic style. Ashley is here with us today sharing insight into her planning and inspiration…

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

I had SO much help from so many people. My family and my husband helped my planning process (in keeping me sane!). The day of the wedding, my aunt took the reigns and became my planner. she made sure all went smooth and that everyone was where they needed to be at the right time.

What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?

What was most important in deciding who I’d work with was that they were willing to work within my budget and ideas. I was so grateful to find vendors that were not just implementing their ideas, but working with mine and transforming them.

What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?

My inspiration was the story with my husband. When he first approached me to tell me his feelings for me, he used the comparison of planting a seed in my heart in hopes of it becoming a tree. He also read a verse from the bible, Proverbs 13:12- “Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when the desire comes it is a tree of life.” So my theme was rustic, trees, wood!

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

My favorite thing about my wedding was how much fun I had, and how much fun others had, too! We had people dancing, while others were eating. The time was not divided between eating and then dancing. So the guests were able to dance when they wanted, and eat when they wanted.

What is your best piece of advice for other brides?

My best advice for other brides is to ENJOY every minute of the wedding! Worry about it during the months of planning, but when the day comes don’t worry anymore! Regardless of what may happen, what’s most important is to be in the moment and soak in every second because it goes by so fast.

Don’t you love the rustic elements, and how Ashley was inspired by her own love story for her wedding design?

Are any of you going to be drawing your inspiration from a special part of your relationship? I’d love to hear!

Hi friends! Welcome to Every Last Detail! Since there are lots of newly engaged couples this time of year, I figured it’s about time I did a post describing how to use Every Last Detail to help plan your wedding!

How To Use Every Last Detail To Plan Your Wedding via TheELD.com

First, a quick little background about myself and ELD: When I got married, I had no clue what I was doing. I tried to find answers on the internet, but alas, back in 2008 there wasn’t quite as much information about weddings on the web as there is now. I would try Googling all kinds of things, but I always just found “fluff” information, and never actual tips and advice that helped me. As a result, there were a few things that went wrong at my wedding that could have easily been avoided if I had just known better. And so, my goal of trying to help brides and educate about weddings was born! Fast forward through a few years… I took a wedding planning certification course, worked a bunch of weddings for free for experience, and started planning and designing weddings. During this time (5 years ago actually!) I started Every Last Detail, having no clue that it would end up being the website it is today!

It’s important for you to know the background of ELD because it’s what our content is based on. The weddings that I planned and designed were usually weddings with a budget of over $25,000 and used professional wedding vendors. In turn, these are the types of weddings that I know and with that, the types of weddings that most of the information on ELD pertains to. Here at ELD, we’re all about transparency and candid information, and so I wanted to make sure that you all know and understand my background.

With all of that said, let’s move on to how you can use Every Last Detail as a resource to plan your wedding!

Every Last Detail’s platform is a wedding blog, which means that every day there will be a new blog post showcasing a real wedding, inspiration shoot, or wedding planning tips and advice. You can find the most recent blog posts on the main page of ELD, www.theeverylastdetail.com. On all pages of ELD you will find a “toolbar”, which is where you will find most everything that I will be explaining next!

From the main page, you can go to various places on the website (via the toolbar above). We’ll start with what everyone loves, and the icon at the top left- Real Weddings! Click on the icon to view recent Real Weddings that have been featured on Every Last Detail. Here you can also filter the weddings by the colors in the wedding and the style of the wedding.[/ezcol_4fifth_end]

[ezcol_1fifth] How To Use Every Last Detail To Plan Your Wedding via TheELD.com[/ezcol_1fifth] [ezcol_4fifth_end]

Another big aspect of Every Last Detail and planning your wedding is inspiration- click on the Get Inspired icon to find inspiration for your wedding. Here on ELD, we have Inspiration Galleries showcasing images that are specified by details (such as bouquets, centerpieces, table numbers, etc), color, style, and location. You can browse through these images, pin them to your Pinterest boards, and see the original feature that the image is from.[/ezcol_4fifth_end]

[ezcol_1fifth]How To Use Every Last Detail To Plan Your Wedding via TheELD.com[/ezcol_1fifth] [ezcol_4fifth_end]Moving on from the pretty things, some of the most important aspects of Every Last Detail are the Wedding Planning pages. As you may have gathered from the above “history”, I was wedding planner in a former life, and it has become my mission to educate the world about weddings. When you start at the the Wedding Planning page, you will find information divided up based on the “phase” of wedding planning that you are in… Newly Engaged, Planning the Details, and Almost Down the Aisle. Pretty self-explanatory, right? I like to refer to these pages as a sort of “roadmap” or guide to help you along your wedding planning journey. For example, on the Newly Engaged page, you can click on each box to be taken to either a specific blog post, or another page with more information. For example, the “Setting a Budget” page contains informational posts, as well as a downloadable spreadsheet to help you set your budget![/ezcol_4fifth_end]

[ezcol_1fifth]How To Use Every Last Detail To Plan Your Wedding via TheELD.com[/ezcol_1fifth] [ezcol_4fifth_end]And finally, we have “Find Vendors”, which takes you to  The V List, a curated list of wedding professionals who have all been vetted and verified by me. Here you can search for wedding vendors by location, what type of vendor you are looking for, your own wedding budget range, and even style. You only have to choose one option to do a search, so don’t feel like you’re obligated to select all of the categories! Choose an option, and hit the “OK” button to search! Once your search results come up, choose a vendor, and you can view their contact info, take a look at their portfolio, and get to know them via a personal interview. You can be sure that if you find a vendor on The V List, they are going to be AMAZING! :)[/ezcol_4fifth_end]

If you’re looking for something in particular, I would encourage you to use the search bar- just type in what you’re looking for, and see what comes up! You can also ask me a question via Ask Lauren– and please do… I love getting questions and helping brides!

Be sure to Like us on Facebook and follow us on Instagram so you can keep up with all of our newest features! (PS- I have lots of giveaways going on this month, and they’re announced on Instagram!) Oh, and definitely sign up for the ELD Email (sign up box is in the sidebar to the right —>) so you can get inspiration, tips and exclusive deals right in your inbox! You don’t want to miss anything!

I hope you’ve enjoyed your “tour” of Every Last Detail! Now that you know the ins and outs of the website, I hope you will use it as a resource to help plan your absolutely amazing wedding! Please let me know if you have any questions or if you need anything at all- I’m here to help!

“Marsala” is the 2015 “Color of the Year”, and I’m so excited to share some absolutely gorgeous marsala wedding ideas with you today! Inspired by the romance and softness of layers of tulle and ballet, Laura of Ashton Events created an exquisite event showcasing the talents of some of the most talented wedding professionals in Tampa Bay. Combining that softness with modern industrial elements and adding champagne, pink, and navy blue to the color palette, the resulting look was absolutely gorgeous and like none other! Josh and Rachel Best of Best Photography were there to capture this stunning event and all of the amazing details in both film and digital photography, and I can’t wait for you to see!

But first, I have to explain exactly what this event is! For the past 3 years, Laura and I have collaborated on what we call Starlit Supper– an annual event where we gather our “friendors” (friends and wedding vendors) to celebrate and toast to a successful year. The event is what we have termed an “inspiration shoot-turned-dinner party”, with an inspiration shoot taking place prior to the actual event. It has become an evening that many look forward to every year, and Laura and I are honored to be the hosts of it! [You can see past years’ events here!] Laura is joining us today to share more about her inspiration and vision for Starlit Supper…

Our 2014 Starlit Supper design was inspired by the venue itself- the Rialto Theatre in Tampa. The space has been renovated and is truly breathtaking. We wanted to highlight the theatrical aspect of the venue, as well as its historic elements. The crisp white walls, cavernous rooms, and gorgeous archway- they beckoned each of the vendors to pull out all the stops!

We used layers of neutrals- ivory sequins, nude tulle, white bricks, etc., for a tonal foundation. We wanted to bring bold colors to the palette that would pop off of the blank space. The rich navy was a perfect complement with the vibrant burgundy.  We also loved the idea of tying in a touch of a ballet influence, given that there is a natural stage. The hair & makeup and styling by Collective Creations & Malindy Elene, respectively, of our #starlitcouple were spot on! Did you notice that the dress actually has a tulle skirt overlay? Be still my heart!

Guests were invited into the cocktail hour, and mix and mingled next to an interactive escort display. We had asked each of the guests to send us their proudest moment of 2014. They could then find their picture on the gallery of images which also had their table number denoting their table number. To play up the performance aspect, we asked each person to sign their picture. It was such a joy watching the conversation grow around their favorite moments and hear the stories. Wish Vintage provided two cozy corners of lounge furniture for the guests to enjoy. I would have taken it all home if I could!

The above display was used as our seating chart: Each guest sent in a photo of their “proudest moment of 2014”, and they found their assigned table number on their photo!

Another strong influence of the design were the florals. Inspired by old floral encyclopedias, I had the pleasure of collaborating on the flowers with Mariana from Flowerly Studio. We really wanted the florals to stand out against the neutral tones. By bringing in a lot of unique textures (and the gorgeous geranium foliage!), the flowers contained a lot of personality on the feasting tables from Signature Rentals. The mirrored chargers from Signature Rentals reflected the vintage flatware and snazzy blue glasses from Dishie Rentals. We loved the place settings, especially how the tulle wrap on the napkins propped up the individual laser cut names from Host & Toast Studio. The gorgeous canvas menus and custom magnets from Eleven-Note were created especially for the Elio chairs from AFR.  The contrast of the metal against the sequin linens from Kate Ryan Linen was a perfect juxtaposition.

Each of the vendors worked seamlessly to create a magical evening. DJ Jacob Towe had incredible projections throughout the evening (even a starry sky!). Siuleth from Eleven-Note absolutely killed the print materials. She was such an inspiration to me- and worked so hard to incorporate all of the different textures and elements that we infused in the other decor. Finishing off the design was the custom “Starlit” lighting that our Ashton Events team executed. We’re still dreaming about how gorgeous it turned out!

Puff ‘n Stuff served a delicious, family style French-inspired menu, complete with scrumptious cheese boards. We ended the meal picking with the long table of desserts from Hands on Sweets- Marie is such an artist! DJ Jacob kicked up the music again, and the custom tulle backdrop from Banter Booth was filled for the rest of the night.

I’m so grateful for the amazing collaboration of vendors. There are so many subtle details that we didn’t even touch! The design was executed beautifully by all of the vendors involved, and we are so grateful to Kristin & Kevin for being our #starlitcouple.

And I can’t help but mention the beginning of Starlit Supper, when 3 years ago, Megan of Glamour and Grace came to Laura and I with the “crazy idea” to do an inspiration shoot-turned-dinner party. Sadly, she no longer lives close to Tampa to attend the now annual event, but we always miss her dearly!

I have to send a big HUGE thank you to all of the vendors who participated in this year’s Starlit Supper! It was the biggest one yet, and it was truly wonderful to see everyone’s absolute best work! Oh, and an even bigger thank you to Laura of Ashton Events. This girl is one of the most talented designers and wedding planners that I know, and I’m thankful for her creativity and expertise!

So friends, what do you think of this use of marsala? I for one am a HUGE fan of the other colors mixed in with it!
