This vintage boho wedding inspiration that I have for you all today is absolutely stunning! Using elements inspired by the ELD brand, Angela of Hemstitch Vintage Rentals created an amazing wedding design that incorporated a boho, eclectic style with delicate vintage pieces. The talented Cassie of Olimb Photography was there to capture all of the amazing inspiration, and I can’t wait for you to see it!

[PS: I realized that I may need to provide a bit more background to the recent inspiration I’ve been featuring that is inspired by the ELD brand- what I lovingly refer to as “Blogiversary Shoots”. As part of our Blogiversary celebration, I asked some of my favorite wedding professionals to create inspiration shoots that incorporated at least one aspect of the ELD brand. The results of this request yield some incredibly amazing inspiration, and I’ll be sharing them with you each week throughout this month!]

I love the use of the driftwood in the centerpiece! The florals are absolutely breathtaking, and that lounge setup is amazing! Everything about this vintage boho inspiration is absolute perfection, and I hope it will inspire you to think a little outside of the norm when it comes to your wedding design!

So tell me- would you use a natural element like driftwood in your centerpiece design?

Michelle & Erik’s sophisticated navy and white wedding was the perfect reflection of their personalities, and Hunter Ryan Photo captured it all beautifully! Drawing their inspiration from their personalities and Erik’s Navy career, Michelle and Erik chose an elegant all white color palette accented with lovely shades of blue. And not only is the wedding itself beautiful, but this couple had THE cutest first look- using big white balloons! Erik hid behind the balloons while Michelle peeked around them to see each other for the first time, and Hunter Ryan Photo was there to capture it all! Michelle is here with us today sharing more about her wedding and her planning experience…

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

My wedding planner and mom really helped the most through the planning process, especially on the day of. My mom helped me with the everyday decisions leading up to our big day and Nicole (from NK Productions) helped with the big planning and day of. She made the set up for the reception and organization seamless. I didn’t have to worry about a thing!

What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?

The most important thing for me when choosing a wedding planner was to have someone who could take all my ideas, pictures and “visions” and make them a reality. I found so many ideas on Pinterest that had such different “feels” and didn’t know how to make them all come together. Nicole and her team of vendors did an amazing job of combining all the ideas we had into one amazing event. They knew exactly what I wanted before I even had to describe it. I also wanted someone who would take care of all the details. I didn’t want anything to be overlooked or to worry about things on the day of the wedding.

What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?

My inspiration was my husband and I’s style. We’re classic, yet modern, and sophisticated. My husband is in the Navy so we really wanted to incorporate his service without making our ceremony and reception feel nautical. I used Pinterest a ton to research ideas and communicated them with Nicole through a secret pin board (so our friends and guests wouldn’t have any ideas as to what our decor was!)

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

My favorite thing about our wedding (besides marrying my best friend of course!) was our reception. When I walked into the yacht club I finally saw all my ideas and all the meetings we had about ideas come to life. It was the most amazing feeling to see how wonderful everything looked and to see how much our guests enjoyed it all too. I especially loved our custom made Save the Date cards and signs that were displayed throughout the reception. They were made by one of the print designers for Lilly Pulitzer and mean so much to me (since its a company I worked for and a brand I love!) We plan on using the table numbers in a baby nursery one day and have truly “saved” the original save the date print and have it displayed in our home. I also loved the gigantic balls of baby’s breath hung over our dance floor. We went back and fourth on the size and quantity of these and decided on seven 27″ balls. Our vendors did an amazing job putting them together and suspending them above the floor. Our guests are still talking about them!

What is your best piece of advice for other brides?

My advice for other brides is to utilize all their efforts. Whether that be through a wedding planner or their mother and maid of honor, it truly makes the planning process that much easier and enjoyable! Having someone who can help you with your vision and know exactly what you want is an amazing gift and is a huge stress reliever. Wedding and Day Of planners are around for a reason, use them!!! I’d also suggest enjoying the entire moment. I had so many friends who told me their day went by so quickly and that they felt like the first time they could say “hi” to their new husband was in the car after the reception. Erik and I made sure to enjoy the whole day and to take it all in, even if that meant cutting out or having the meet and greet customs at the rehearsal dinner. We really enjoyed it all together and never felt overwhelmed. It made everything enjoyable and we remember so many of the great details about our day!

Oh I love Michelle’s advice to hire a planner! Michelle actually worked with one of ELD’s approved planners, NK Weddings, in addition to working with approved photographers Hunter Ryan Photo! A true testament that having a fabulous team of wedding professionals results in an amazing wedding day!

Hands down, Michelle and Erik’s First Look has to be one of my favorites! So tell me- what are your plans for a first look? Will you be doing one?

Filled with bright colors, an elegant, classic style, and lovely photography from Alexis June Weddings, you are going to love this elegant pink and orange wedding! Taking place in New York’s Hudson Valley, this elegant outdoor wedding boasts stunning scenery and a couple that is beautifully in love.

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

With everything from selecting the venue, food, going through proof after proof of our invitation (color, font and even the envelop liner) and sorting through a million fabric samples for our table linens and napkins. He was amazing, kept it fun … and me sane! In addition my mom was a huge help, even though she was miles away in Michigan (she flew in multiple times) as well as my matron of honor and bridesmaids! I was very lucky to have a wonderful support system! It all made the planning process fun. We kept saying that we were throwing a dinner party for our closest 160 family and friends—somehow that made it feel less daunting.

On the day of the wedding, it was our photographer and caterer that we leaned on to keep us on track. I knew from the first day talking to Brandi (our photographer) that she was a great fit for us. She has that mix of Midwest charm, military organization and NY toughness that resulted in a fun, organized shoot, and amazing pictures. Eric of Good-Life Gourmet, and his staff, made every transition seamless and took all the pressure off of us for day of schedules.

What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?

Obviously quality was very important to us, but we also needed to feel like there was a connection with our vendors. I can honestly say that every vendor we worked with was amazing, talented, passionate about their jobs and fun to work with! They all listened to us, respected us, respected our budget, and helped us create our vision–we felt like had known them for years and still keep in touch with a few of them. We knew that there would be stress in planning one of the most exciting times of our life, so liking them was important to us! The fact that we enjoyed the vendors really made it a (fairly) stress free event.

What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?

My parents and my sister and her husband got married in June so the only thing I knew I wanted to get married in June with beautiful flowers. I am from Michigan and Luke is from New York, so once we decided on the state (NY) we thought it would be fun to incorporate as much of one to other. We served Michigan wine and beer, cookies shaped like Michigan and then tried to have as much local from NY. We often joked that our style was “rustic, farmyard chic” (which of course means nothing), but I think that our inspiration was the beauty of the Hudson Valley, and trying translate that to our event in an elegant way. Our venue and food really helped with that.

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

Other than getting married and dancing the night away with friends and family I would say my favorite thing was the venue (Monteverde at Oldstone). First of all it is on Hudson River and the views were amazing so we didn’t have to do too much as the setting spoke for itself. But we really just rented the whole site so we had a blank canvas to work together and create a wedding reception that was really “us.” The natural beauty of the setting allowed us to focus on the details (food, linens and band) to create a unique event that represented us, and we thought all would enjoy. And they did.

What is your best piece of advice for other brides?

Have fun and make sure that it is about you and your husband. Try not to get caught up in having all the latest trends. There were a lot of things that when we first got engaged I thought I had to have… Decide what it important to you, stay true to your style and use your resources wisely—sometimes less is more!

Don’t forget that you will be working so much with your photographer, caterer, planner, etc that it is important that you work with good people with whom have a connection. We are so thankful for Brandi, Eric and Katie, Emily from Sunshine and Clover and all of our vendors who helped bring that day together. We would have been lost without them.

I just love the bright color palette paired with an elegant style, don’t you?

Are any of you going to be pairing a bright, bold color palette with a more elegant, classic style for your own wedding?

Happy 2015 everyone! I’m thrilled to kick off this year off with something extra special- a full month of celebrating Every Last Detail’s 5 year “Blogiversary”! We’re starting the month-long celebration with some colorful, modern, and sparkly wedding ideas inspired by the Every Last Detail brand and designed by my dear friend Emily Grace Design. We had two amazing photographers- Brian Sumner Photography and Caroline & Evan Photography– on hand to photograph the inspiration, both of whom have totally different styles and captured the look in different ways. I’m featuring both photographers today to show off their different styles and demonstrate how no two photographers are alike- and of course because their images are gorgeous! I’m sharing more about this month’s Blogiversary celebration below, but first we’re starting off with Brian’s images…

I love this inspiration so much! It embodies so much of what I love about ELD- the color, the patterns, and sparkle! In the coming month, I’ll be sharing 4 other inspiration shoots that are also inspired by Every Last Detail’s brand. They’re all different and so gorgeous- I can’t wait!

And now for more about the Blogiversary celebration month! The actual date of my “Blogiversary” was in December, but my grandmother passed away unexpectedly right around that time and it just didn’t feel right celebrating then. It was all for the best though, because as it turns out, I’ve put together a whole month of giveaways and special features for you all! Celebrating 5 years of providing inspiration and insight to brides is something that I’ve been looking forward to for quite some time, and I’m excited to give back to both brides and wedding professionals in honor of the celebration! When I started Every Last Detail, I had no idea it was going to turn into what it is today. I’ve been full time with ELD for almost 4 years now (I almost said 3 because I thought it was still 2014), and although I never set out to be a wedding blogger, I have truly discovered my passion and what I love doing. Truth be told, I wouldn’t be able to do what I do without both brides and wedding professionals, and so as part of celebrating that and saying thanks, I’ll be hosting giveaways for BOTH of you throughout this month!

I’ll be announcing the first giveaways soon, but I wanted to start off by celebrating the new year AND all of the newly engaged brides! I’ll be publishing some new wedding planning pages throughout this month, and I’ve started with something special for those who are newly engaged- what I like to call The Newly Engaged Guide. Check it out, send it to your friends, and soak in all of the info! I’ll be sharing a lot more on Instagram, and using the hashtag #cheersto5yearsofELD for everything, so be sure to keep an eye out for more new pages, giveaways each week (plus one BIG one!), and special features!

Happy 2015 everyone! I hope you’ll join me this month in celebrating 5 years of Every Last Detail!!
