Rustic and elegant, this Tennessee farm wedding captured by Jenna Henderson is full of southern hospitality and pure beauty! Taking place at the bride’s family farm, this outdoor feté was the perfect option for a couple who both grew up enjoying time spent outdoors and on the farm. The beautiful bride, Brooke, is here with us today to share more about her wedding day:

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

My wedding planner helped me most in planning my wedding on my wedding day.

What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?

I wanted to use small local businesses with great attitudes who really wanted my day to be awesome!

What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?

My inspiration came from wanting to have a fun, rustic country wedding that represented me and my husband.  We both grew up on farms, so having an outdoor, rustic, country wedding really represent who we are. Many of the ideas I used for my wedding came from ideas found on Pinterest, Etsy, my wedding planner, or just my own imagination.

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

My favorite thing about my wedding was the dancing at the reception. I had an absolutely amazing DJ, and he knew how to control the crowd and get the guest to let loose and have a great time.

What is your best piece of advice for other brides?

My best advice would be to choose things for your wedding that really represents you and your husband. Try not to get caught up in all the trends. Really accentuate who you and your husband are because that will make your wedding day feel more natural. You and your husband will be more comfortable and be better able to really enjoy your wedding day.

I love how Brooke and Jesse made sure to have things at their wedding that truly reflected them and their relationship. To me, that is the key to having a unique wedding- personalization your details and design to yourselves!

So tell me- are any of you having your wedding at a favorite location or area like Brooke and Jesse did with their family farm?

This gorgeous Alabama wedding from j.woodbery photography has absolutely stolen my heart! This couple incorporated their sweet southern roots in a lovely outdoor celebration, and with a beautiful vintage style, this down home southern wedding hit all the marks. The lovely bride, Ashley, is here with us today to share her planning experience with us:

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

My mom (the Details Queen), and Alyse (my sister/Fashion Coordinator), were a huge help during the entire process; I couldn’t have pulled it off with such ease without them.  We also had lots of help from Katie at Engaged, A Wedding Library in Homewood, AL and from Stephanie and Tammy at Mathews Manor.

What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?

I wanted to enjoy the planning and have a relaxed and stress-free wedding day.  My main concern was being comfortable with everyone we worked with!

What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?

Natural beauty, with a little vintage romance.  We both love being outside and enjoying nature and I love all things vintage.

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

Mathew’s Manor was the perfect venue, and I loved all of the personal touches throughout the day.  Nathan designed and built the curtain aisle entrance, my mom handstitched my wedding date into the hem of my gown as my “something blue”, we used Nathan’s dad’s vintage truck to arrive and leave, and my dad played guitar and sang to kick off the reception.

What is your best piece of advice for other brides?

Enjoy the planning process! When you find yourself getting bogged down in the details, take a deep breath (and maybe pour yourself a glass of wine) and remember that in the end you are marrying the man you love and that’s all that really matters!

One of my favorite little details are the colorful fans available for guests to use during the ceremony! What a fun, bright way to provide some relief from the hot sun. And how cute is the music paper underneath the centerpieces? I love that touch!

What kind of details are you planning on incorporating into your own wedding? I’d love to hear!

We all know that wedding inspiration is one of the most important things when it comes to planning your wedding. Which is why I’m SO excited to share an amazing new tool for finding wedding inspiration, Style Unveiled’s Style Boards!

A New Tool For Finding Wedding Inspiration That You Need To Use! via TheELD.com

Style Boards are fun and easy to use (similar to some of the other image sharing platforms out there). You can “style” images to boards that you create to keep track of your inspiration and develop your wedding style. It’s especially great to use to save your wedding inspiration, because one of the great things about the Style Boards platform is that all of the images are 100% wedding related. They’re even divided up into categories, so you can specifically search for what you’re wanting- like Bouquets, which is one of my favorite boards because I LOVE amazing bouquets! And not only that, but you can see ALL of the images on the homepage, so you can be sure that you’re not missing out on any gorgeous inspiration! I myself have been having a blast Styling from ELD and seeing what other people are styling!

I spoke with Style Unveiled’s CEO Alexis Harsh and Editor Heather Sharpe, and they shared this insight about their Style Boards section:

“Our Style Boards interface is a ‘wedding haven’ for brides, vendors and inspiration seekers. Brides can collect images on their personal boards and then collaborate with their vendors using their Styles. Vendors can Style to boards to share their work from their own websites and blogs, driving traffic and eyes to the work they have created. We have taken out the task of filtering and searching because our Boards have wedding specific categories making collecting inspiration and ideas simple and efficient. The look is clean and uncluttered. Simply find, love, and click to view the original source of the image.”

Two of my favorite boards to Style to are Bouquets and Cakes, because they’re of course two of my favorite wedding details! [You can see all of my own boards here.] Another board that I’m loving right now is The Dress board! Since bridal market recently took place, the Dress board is a great place to go to see all of the latest gorgeous wedding dresses, straight from the designers!  If you’re still searching for the wedding dress that is “the one”, I highly recommend taking a look at the Dress board for inspiration! Here’s little peek of the pretty:

It’s really that simple. The Style It Button is a tool you can use when exploring the web. When you find something you want to save for your inspiration, click the Style It Button on your bookmarks bar and your browser will automatically pull up every image available to choose from. From there you can describe your style and select the Style Board you want it placed in! You can head on over to the FAQ page to find out more about using Style Boards.

I love everything about this unique wedding captured by Ricky Stern Photography! Diana and Arun wanted a wedding that stood out from the crowd, so they combined their love for color, travel, and eclectic design to create a gorgeous wedding that was totally and completely unique to them. Diana is here with us today to explain more about how they designed their lovely wedding…

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

Because I was in New York City and the wedding was in Miami, I relied on my mom to be my eyes and ears during the venue scouting process. She visited countless places, sent me dozens of photos and asked relentless questions to narrow down the perfect location. Without her, the wedding would have been an ad hoc affair at the courthouse. The days before the wedding were stress-free thanks to my sister, Chelsea. She handled her maid-of-honor duties seamlessly — including texting my wedding planner when my hands were dripping with wet nail polish.

What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?

It was very important for me to work with people who were responsive and professional. In addition to a speedy e-mail response time, I relied heavily on: good reviews, recommendations and real-world examples of the vendors’ work.

What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?

There was no official theme. Instead, my husband and I chose eclectic elements that reminded us of our travels, our childhoods and our life together in Manhattan. The cake-toppers were elephants, a nod to Arun’s favorite animal and Indian heritage. The flowers were inspired by my family vacations in North Carolina and my dad’s Scottish ancestry. The hand-painted escort cards were inspired by the many, MANY art museums I have dragged Arun to see around the world. And the cake was a croquembouche, a French dessert that reminded us of Paris, where we got engaged.

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

The ceremony. It was so personal, loving and speedy. (We were done in less than 15 minutes.) My longtime friend Melinda presided, and our friends and family were sitting in a circle around us. You could feel the loving, happy energy reverberating in that room. I hate to sound corny, but — it was magical.

What is your best piece of advice for other brides?

Keep your perspective: the wedding is just one day. It doesn’t matter if you can’t get the right place settings. The marriage is all that matters. (And if you feel like you’re about to snap, ask for help.)

That is some truly perfect advice, don’t you think? I really love how Diana and Arun made sure that their wedding details and design were unique to them and in a way, told the story of their life together. That’s always my favorite thing to see- a perfectly unique wedding is the best!

So tell me- do you have anything in particular that you’re planning on doing to tell the story of your life together? I’d love to hear!
