Brendan and Jenna met at a baseball stadium, so it only made sense to have a baseball theme carried throughout their fun aqua and yellow wedding! Captured by Cassi Claire Photography, the subtle baseball themed details paired with a bright color palette make for a wedding that will brighten your day and bring a smile to your lips. Jenna is here with us today to share all about her planning process…

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

Our photographer, Cassi, was actually a major help throughout the planning process.  She gave us great tips and support for essentially a whole year leading up to the wedding that we hardly thought of her as a vendor but more as our ‘really, really wedding savvy friend who also just so happened to be our really, really talented photographer!’ My husband also kept me laughing and level-headed if I ever started to feel overwhelmed.  Our family really rallied together giving so much of their time in the final weeks to help in any way they could.  Their love and support is everything!

What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?

Quality and convenience were big factors in pretty much every vendor we booked. We didn’t have a planner and I knew that all the DIY projects I wanted to do would be a big undertaking, so working with professionals that we trusted gave peace of mind about not having to worry too much over the day of logistics. Having the reception at a hotel was something I knew would take a lot of stress out of the planning and allow us to focus more on all the details we wanted to incorporate.

What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?

The bright blue and yellow color palette was simply inspired by being my favorite colors and love of all things bright and sunny. Brendan can attest to the fact that whether it’s my wardrobe or shopping habits, I’m always drawn towards a nice pop of color! As for the details, Brendan and I actually first met at Shea Stadium so incorporating baseball details was a fun ode to our relationship. We named the tables after ballparks that we have been to together and included a photo from the game and the date we went. It actually made the table seating chart process pretty fun to try and pair our friends with their team or city!

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

Our favorite part had to be the reception. It was SO much fun. We had the most amazing time dancing the night away and goofing off in the photo booth with our friends and family. We wanted the reception to be a total party for everyone and I think we definitely succeeded! Everyone from my little cousin to my grandfather were on the dance floor all night!

What is your best piece of advice for other brides?

Definitely allow yourself to let go on the wedding day and just enjoy being in every moment. Have final check-ins with your vendors, allow plenty of pad in your day of schedule and you’ll be fine! At the end of the day, it really all comes down to you and your husband being married, and as long as the happens, nothing else is worth stressing over on your wedding day.

I just love how Brendan and Jenna used baseball themed details to make their wedding unique to them- it’s so perfect!

Do any of you have a favorite pastime you share with your fiancé that you could incorporate into your own wedding details? My husband and I love cooking together and we would probably use that in our details- share in the comments what you would use!

Drawing inspiration from the softer side of the twenties, these vintage 1920s wedding ideas from Caley Newberry Photography and Locklane Weddings & Events are absolutely gorgeous! Blending elements of the American prohibition with English elegance, adding in vintage pieces from Feather + Oak, and using a navy and yellow color palette creates a 1920s inspired wedding design that is both timeless and unique. Oh, and there’s even a fun “Posy Bar”, a DIY favor station where guests could create their own bouquets of florals to take home!

I love the blending of the different types of 1920s vintage- it creates an absolutely stunning wedding look!

Would any of you “blend” two different versions of a time period or style for your own wedding? What other “blends” could there be?

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

My mom, our wedding planner Tracie Domino, and my MOH Katherine King helped most during the planning and on our wedding day.  Tracie brought all the vendors, styles and logistic options and my mom helped make every decision along the way. Tracie made an incredible document for our wedding day with every detail listed including timelines, layouts, contacts and more for everyone involved to have the tools for a flawless event.

What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?

When deciding who to work with for our wedding, I looked for someone assertive, well connected, responsive, fabulous style and someone who I enjoyed spending time working with. Tracie Domino Events was the perfect decision and everyone she introduced me to had the same attributes.

What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?

We envisioned a timeless and romantic evening. Great Gatsby inspired the fun atmosphere during the reception. We loved mixing the formal evening with our favorite comfort food stations and upbeat music.

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

I loved the moment we walked down the aisle after saying our vows and seeing all our family and friends smiling faces. It was so exciting running through the sparkler exit and knowing the celebration was ahead. Our photographer, Ryan Joseph, captured every moment beautifully and we will always treasure all the details in the classic photos.

What is your best piece of advice for other brides?

Remember to take a few moments for yourself throughout the day to stop and take it all in. The day flies by and you will cherish those memories forever. I also loved having my hair down during the ceremony and having it put up for the reception because it kept my hair looking fresh all night!

Oh I just love Karyn’s advice- and how amazing are those glitter table numbers?! I’m obsessed!

Are any of you getting your inspiration from something like the Great Gatsby? I’d love to hear about it in the comments!
