This Seattle wedding is breathtaking, friends! Jessica and Mike met in college, and their journey together took them to Chicago. Because Jessica is from Seattle, she knew she wanted to get married in her home city. To ease the stress of planning from afar, she and Mike turned to Huoy of Perfectly Posh Events. Together, the trio created a blush pink, gold, and ivory soiree at DeLille Cellars that was not short on beautiful details!

The rain that had been pouring during the week leading up to their wedding parted for a gorgeous sunny day – the perfect weather for an outdoor garden ceremony. Flowers lined the aisle, and I’m oh-so-obsessed with the floral arch by Flora Nova Design where the couple recited their vows! The incredible floral display continued inside their tent where blush linens, gold chargers, and some of the prettiest dahlia, hydrangea, and rose centerpieces awaited excited guests. Mini bottles of champagne were offered to friends and family just before Jessica and Mike’s sparkler exit into a classic Bentley that whisked them away from their reception.

From the setting to Jessica’s gown, La Happy calligraphy pieces to the the exit, today’s wedding is classic with a capital C. Captured by Lucid Captures Photography, we’re all sending so much love to Perfectly Posh Events for sending such a lovely fete our way!

Planning a wedding from afar is never an easy feat, but Lia and Dan’s Denver wedding turned out beautifully with the help of a fabulous vendor team and their family! Drawing inspiration from the regal cathedral they were married in and Dan’s military background, the couple’s wedding was filled with elegance and romance, tones of marsala and blush, and a hint of whimsy. Lia paid special attention to each element of the wedding, making sure that all of their selections told their story in some way- we LOVE that! Everything was captured perfectly by Sara Lynn, Fine Art Photographer, and we are so honored to have Lia here today with sharing more about her wedding planning experience and the day as a whole.

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

I feel so fortunate, as I had a great deal of help while planning our wedding. Living over 1,000 miles away from our wedding site throughout the planning process (due to my husband’s military orders), made it impossible to be at every appointment, meet every vendor and ensure each detail was in place. My mom truly was a key factor in the entire process, and stepped in every moment I could not. She worked with me from day one and ensured everything I envisioned came to life. She spent endless nights on small and behind the scenes details, just to ensure everything was perfect, I truly could not of done it without her! Another huge help was Gina Mayfelt (owner and founder of Organically You Events), my wedding planner/coordinator. The first time I met with Gina over coffee, I knew she had to be a part of the wedding. She immediately exceeded my expectations and I was amazed by how only after a hour she nailed my vision. Her energy, organization, punctuality, and ability to put me at ease was amazing. She was the perfect combination of easy-going and in charge. She went above and beyond to ensure I had the day of my dreams. Her creativity never went unnoticed, I can honestly not give her enough praise.

What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?

When picking out vendors, and all those who I was going to work with for the wedding, I wanted to make sure we “clicked” on a personal level. My goal was to hire people I would want to hang out with on a everyday basis and would call my friends. I figured if they knew me well, and understood me on a personal level, they would be perfect in helping make my wedding dreams into a reality. I was picky with my choices and met with a whole bunch of different people, but in the end truly can say I put together the perfect team.

What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?

My first inspiration for the wedding was the Catholic Church. The Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, is the church I have dreamed about getting married in ever since I was a little girl. Growing up we went to several masses and other important celebratory events there (which is when I first started falling in love with its beauty). Then, in high school I received my confirmation there at the church – which only reaffirmed my desire for it to be the place I marry the man of my dreams.

My second piece of inspiration was the time of year we got married, as our wedding date was late October. I was inspired by the non-traditional Fall colors and chose Marsala for the center of my color wheel. I kept with the theme of the deeper tones for all the decor, flowers, as well as bridesmaids dresses, with a few pops of blush for contrast. I planned with my florist for all my bouquets and floral center pieces to keep a more natural and organic shape, rather than round and perfect. I even chose two different looks for my wedding dress. For the ceremony, which I went more traditional and classic, with a lace bolero and long veil with a blusher (to keep with the strong traditions of marrying in the Catholic church). And for my reception look, went more fun and relaxed, wearing a flower crown and diamond belt. I loved the idea of changing things up and keeping the guests surprised.

Our third piece of inspiration was the United States Marine Corps. My now husband with over 11 years of active duty and his strong devotion to our country, we knew it had to be part of our day. He chose to wear his uniform and asked a few of his fellow Marines to do the same. It is because of the Marine Corps we met many years ago, so we both felt it deserved a special part in our day of becoming Mr & Mrs.

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

My favorite thing about my wedding was truly celebrating my husband and I’s love for one another with our family and best friends. We had people fly from all corners of the United States to celebrate with us and that alone made the day so memorable and special.

What is your best piece of advice for other brides?

Enjoy the process. It truly passes you by so quickly, and before you know it, it’s all over. We all are guilty of getting caught up in the stress of coordinating every small detail, making sure everything is perfect we forget to enjoy the small moments. Take a step back, smile and relish every moment.

Today’s gorgeously romantic white and blue wedding ideas showcase just how amazing a wedding can be when you incorporate a theme. Inspired by Kansas City’s champion baseball team, the Kansas City Royals, the area’s best wedding professionals teamed up to create a wedding design using elements representing the town of Kansas City and the team so many cherish. And with a vision executed by Events by Nellie, stationery by Lauren Heim Studio, and photography by Laura Foote… you really can’t go wrong. Laura explains the design and details perfectly, so we’ll let her take it from here!

“Kansas City is home to sunflower fields that skirt its metropolitan center, the most BBQ restaurants of any city in America, over 200 fountains, rivaling cities like Paris and Rome, and most recently, the 2015 Baseball World Champion. When the Kansas City Royals took home the crown, the city was a sea of blue and white. The entire season, in fact, connected mid-westerners across the country in cheering on the “boys in blue” and celebrating a piece of “home”.  As a non-sports enthusiast Kansan who now lives in Florida, I did not expect to care much about my hometown team’s performance during this season. But the images flooding social media from around the country loving Kansas City, it’s people, and it’s team, absolutely won over my heart.

This moment in time inspired “Forever Royal”, a Kansas City Vendor collaboration to create the most gorgeous of wedding days using elements that represent the town we know & love and the baseball team that has created memories for so many. Using the leading vision of Nellie of Events by Nellie, the day was curated with amazingly thoughtful detail. From the the “You are my home” theme hand lettered throughout the signs and stationary by Lauren Heim to represent the home plate of the game as well as the heart of our couple in starting their life together to the “Made in KC” gift bags, filled with “Forever Royal” coasters, a cold Boulevard beer (brewed local in Kansas City), and ever-popular Charlie Hustle “I heart KC” tank, Kansas and The Royals were woven together without any need for “take me out to the ballgame” playing.

Add in a real-life couple and their best friends as our bride, groom, bridesmaid, groomsman, the most gorgeous, rustic country club boat dock on all together cloudy and cool spring day, a perfectly gold foiled cake by Adorn Cakes and you have this stunningly gorgeous yet truly “at home” soiree. Our hope is to inspire industry professionals and couples to think beautifully about how to incorporate hometowns and their recent “noteworthy” celebrations into a wedding day by using texture, color, and local elements to tell the story!”

Blush and navy is a classic springtime color combination and it couldn’t look sweeter than in this North Carolina wedding from Sunshower Photography. Filled to the brim with rustic details, Mary Cate and Sam’s big day was a quintessential Southern celebration. The Historic Beaver Dam is perfectly Southern with it’s beautiful rocking chair laden front porch, which Mary Cate took advantage of as a dream spot to put the final touches to her bridal look. Her bridal party looked so elegant in their Jenny Yoo dresses, which allowed them to each create their own neckline to be the most flattering for everyone. And of course, you don’t need too much extra decoration when you have an 1800’s barn for the ceremony backdrop! Complete with tasty s’mores favors and lots of love and laughter, we can’t wait for you to see more of this blush and white plantation wedding!

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

Although we had a day of coordinator for our wedding, we did not hire a wedding planner, therefore my sister, mom and mother in law were responsible for setting everything up the day of the wedding! Pretty great family to do that, huh? :) I am very lucky to say the least!  I come from a very large family and have been to and part of many weddings, so I had my sisters, mom, and mother in-law help me with the planning and the details. I basically just expressed to them everything that I was envisioning, which was a rustic, whimsical wedding and they helped me to find creative ways to make that happen within my budget!

What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?

When deciding on vendors and who to work with for my wedding, I chose to work with people that I had a genuine connection with and that really seemed to understand my vision for the wedding. I am a bit of a control freak, so having a vendor that understood my concerns, listened to my wants/needs, and was able to use their experience to take control of situations to alleviate any stress I could possibly have on my wedding day was absolutely necessary. I also created a budget for myself in each category m of our wedding (flowers, DJ, photographer, etc). I used The Knot to help find people within those price ranges to call and arrange a meeting with, and just went with my gut after speaking to several vendors within each category.

What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?

I always knew I wanted a ton of candles and a romantic/whimsical feeling for my wedding, but needed help thinking of ways to get it that way. My inspiration for my wedding mostly just came from pictures of rustic weddings online and on Pinterest. However, in my opinion, Pinterest has a ton of unrealistic details for rustic weddings that were out of our price range, so we decided to recreate those details in a more affordable way. We made almost every single item at our wedding, besides the gold votives, cake and flowers! Not only did we save money on the various objects we created, but it was also a great opportunity to have fun and make memories with my mom, sisters and mother in law. I think working on these projects brought us all a lot closer together and made me appreciate the wedding that much more after seeing all of our hard work really paid off and came together the day of!

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

There were so many details about our wedding that were absolutely amazing to me, but my favorite details had to be the wine barrels with flowers on top, homemade wreath for the barn, the dessert table that we created and the photo-booth!

What is your best piece of advice for other brides?

The best piece of advice I can give fellow brides, is that everything will work out and will be absolutely perfect the day of, so try not to stress too much! I would also tell them to take it all-really take the time to look around at all the little details, all the hard work you put into making day happen and at all of the people that are there because they love and support you because it all goes by in the blink of an eye!
