Elegance meets rustic to create the perfect blend with this New York wedding captured by Sarah Tew Photography. Jessica and John fell in love with the raw architecture of their venue, The Roundhouse, and used that as a base for their wedding day inspiration. The exposed brick and wood beam ceilings paired perfectly with their love of neutral tones to create the elegant affair of their dreams. With a floor to ceiling wall of windows, and lush trees outside creating a beautiful backdrop,  when debating over indoors or outdoors, this venue really is the best of both worlds! Lee Vazquez Floral Design brought the whole look together with simple wood box centerpieces filled with white and green florals. And you know how much we love a great escort card station here at ELD, and the vintage shutter display is so simple, but so cute! Read on for insight from Jessica on her wedding planning experience, and to see of this gorgeous springtime wedding!

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

Without the help of my mother, Jannine, our wedding wouldn’t have been nearly as beautiful as it was! She has such an incredible eye and helped create many of the different displays at our wedding (photo display, welcome table, escort card table, etc.) She is also just as crazy as I am about making sure every little detail is perfect!

What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?

My husband and I made sure to meet with every one of our vendors to ensure that each understood exactly what we were looking for on the big day. It was important to us that our vendors understood the overall “feel” we were going for and had examples of similar work they have done in the past.

What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?

Anyone who knows me, knows that I am not a big “color” person, so I always envisioned our wedding with a very natural look that combined varying degrees of neutrals with a beautiful landscape.

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

Absolutely everything! But if we had to pick a favorite, it would have to be the grand entrance as newlyweds! It was such a priceless feeling standing at the top of the staircase, looking down at a room filled with 150 of your closest friends and family, and seeing the pure joy in all of their eyes.

What is your best piece of advice for other brides?

Start early and don’t be hesitant to wait longer than a year to get married. We were engaged for almost 2 years and I think having that extra amount of time made all the difference in not only being able to get the vendors that we wanted, but also helped keep everyone involved in the planning process relatively stress-free.

Sometimes you can tell a wedding was a completely joyful day from the very first photo, and that’s definitely the case with Savannah and Kevin’s celebration. The couple’s brunch wedding (!!) began as a fun idea after reading an article on BuzzFeed. The more they talked about the details that could become a reality (serving their favorite breakfast foods was at the top of their list!), the more excited they became. I’m thrilled their brunch wedding became a reality!

Wedding planner Kate of Wild Sky Events was invaluable while planning Savannah and Kevin’s daytime soiree. The couple planned their destination wedding from afar and weren’t always able to make decisions in person, but Kate kept their aesthetic in mind always. Together, the group created a wedding at Star Hill Ranch that was filled with bright colors, vintage details, in season spring florals by Pollen Floral Art, and backyard games. Their event was laidback, family-focused, and so intentionally fun. Y’all are going to love the photos captured by Lisa Woods Photography (the portraits are my favorite)!

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

Kate, our wedding planner was our biggest help in preparing for our wedding and on our wedding day. Having never been intimately involved in the planning process of any wedding before, it was wonderful to have an advocate like Kate who knew the tasks, timeline, and a variety of vendors . She was especially valuable since we had a destination wedding and were not always able to meet vendors or tour venues in-person–Kate performed admirably as our eyes and ears to make sure all the pieces of our wedding reflected us as a couple and our vision for the wedding, even if it hadn’t been hand-picked by the bride & groom. She made sure every little detail of our wedding was covered!

What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?

My husband & I wanted to be sure we found and planner and photographer who understood our priorities and clicked with us as a couple. We were looking for folks who were outgoing, creative, detail-oriented, relaxed, and were as excited for an outdoor brunch as we were!

What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?

Funnily enough, our idea of a brunch wedding started as a joke after I’d read a BuzzFeed listical noting the advantages of brunch weddings. The only thing I told my fiancé was, “We could have a waffle wedding cake!!” and the list of joke-y perks grew from there (we could serve all our favorite breakfast foods! we could be day drinking!). Before we knew it, the joke idea took on a life of its own so much that we realized we wanted to make it a reality.

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

Our favorite part of the day was the overall feeling of our wedding–everything went absolutely as well as we could have hoped for. Our main goal was to have the ceremony was short and sweet and the reception be long and fun–we absolutely achieved that. In addition, the rain in the forecast never came through, there was plenty of tasty food and booze for everyone, and everyone thought the venue was quaint and wonderful. To see our vision come together so nicely and knowing that everyone else was having just as much fun as we were meant that the worst part of the wedding was it being over!

What is your best piece of advice for other brides?

In the planning process, focus your time, energy, and money on the things that are important to you at your wedding–concentrate on all the details that are important to you and that make the wedding what you want it to be. These will be the things you notice most at your wedding and are likely to remember afterwards.

If y’all have been following Every Last Detail for a while, you may remember how much I adore photographer Dana Cubbage. She’s one of the best in Charleston, and Amber and Scott are so fortunate to have been in front of Dana’s lens on their wedding day! Amber describes the couple’s style as “southern, romantic, glam”, and their Charleston wedding definitely reflected their vision perfectly.

The pair celebrated both their ceremony and reception at the Daniel Island Club minutes away from downtown Charleston’s historic center. Their ceremony overlooked the marsh and golf course, and the wooden arch where they recited their vows was adorned with the prettiest flowers by Out of the Garden Floral Artistry. Inside, tables were draped in gold sequin linens and centerpieces filled with bright pink flowers, including peonies, added to the gorgeous atmosphere. Just before making their getaway in a Bentley, A+S ran through a sea of sparklers – the best way to end an oh-so-wonderful wedding day! Friends, this Charleston wedding planned by Beautiful Bride Events is a brightly colored stunner.

This luxurious blush and rose inspiration shoot and HoneyBook launch party designed by Storybook Weddings & Events at Chicago’s Gallery 1028 is exactly what dreams are made of (or at least mine!). Here at ELD, we all love when spaces have exposed brick because it adds just the right touch of history. When brick is paired with wooden tables and glowing chandeliers, magic comes to life, friends!

Today’s styled shoot combines all of the elements I just mentioned together with a table lined with the prettiest ivory florals by Pollen and Pastry, lovely blush ribbon tied place cards (my favorite detail), a killer dessert table, and a lounge space complete with geometric hanging florals. The space may be vast and open, but the team made it feel intimate and warm. Captured by our favorite midwest photographer, Rachael Osborn Photography, welcome to the prettiest intimate wedding, dinner party, rehearsal dinner, or bridal shower you may ever attend. The options are truly endless, y’all, but I hope the ELD team is on the invite list!
