Chris and Katie’s Arizona wedding day filled with color and happiness took place at Paradise Valley Country Club, a location that happened to have great meaning for both of their families. A color palette boasting shades of pink, peach, and orange set the stage for a fun, chic affair. The two exchanged their vows with Camelback Mountain in the background, surrounded by their family and friends. Citrus fruit was incorporated into the centerpieces and tablescapes, and my goodness are they gorgeous! Great food, an amazing bad, and a party that people are still talking about was all the icing on the cake. Jay & Jess Photography were there to capture every moment and detail, and we are so very glad to share it all with y’all today!

Today’s wedding inspiration is a beautiful balance of contrasts. Juxtaposing hard and soft, urban and romantic, Katie of Chancey Charm Weddings and her team created a stunning wedding design that will set any city bride’s hearts a flutter. The industrial vibe comes from the High Line Car House, an old car house and barn from 1873, that has amazing exposed brick for the perfect urban backdrop. The glamorous gown and rich florals balance out the hard, creating a soft elegance that is too dreamy for words! Captured by Derks Works Photography, the end result is a combination of feminine romance and raw urban vibe that is easy to fall in love with.

I’ve been married for a little over 7 years now, and as you all know, I frequently look back on the time in my life when I was engaged and planning my wedding. My engagement was a little different than most- I was getting married at the age of 21 to my high school sweetheart of 9 years, and we were engaged for about 16 month too. And since we were young and broke, there was thing that we absolutely needed to do- create a wedding registry!

Now, the common thought right off the bat, no matter how young or old you are, is that you don’t need much of anything and won’t have anything to register for. This is especially thought if you live together already. But friends, that is wrong! Registering for your wedding is a great opportunity to upgrade what you currently have, replace what is broken or doesn’t work anymore, and even get things that you would never usually buy for yourself. It’s pretty funny- for some reason, a wedding is one of the the only times that your family and friends will gladly buy you things for your life and home. It’s like a rite of passage, and you absolutely need to take advantage of it!

Looking back on when my husband and I registered for our wedding, I realized that there were things we ended up returning, things we ended up using a lot, and then things that are still collecting dust. Well, thanks to Macy’s wedding registry partnering with us, I’m able to take this opportunity today to share a few registry items that my husband and I have found to be MUST HAVES when you register!

Now, most everything that we found we registered for (and used) were items for the kitchen or appliances. Really, anything that was going to be a a bit of a larger purchase and we would have put off is what we registered for- including things like luggage and a coffee maker.

I think from this list it’s a little obvious that my husband and I are foodies and love to cook! But really, all of these items are ones that we either did register for and still use 7 years later, or items that we *wish* we had registered for and ended up getting later on. So now it’s time to take all of these suggestions and add them to your registry! Head over to Macy’s to start your own wedding registry– it’s super easy! Plus, here’s a little something special for you to share with your friends and family once you create your registry…

April and Patrick’s friends and family traveled near and far to attend their gorgeous Charleston wedding, and we’re pretty sure they were all pleased with the outcome. Their ceremony took place under a chandelier-adorned oak tree at Charles Towne Landing, shading the guests and providing a beautiful Southern backdrop. Bridesmaids wore sequined gowns, and April’s gorgeous beaded wedding dress was truly a sight to behold. Gold vases and stunning blush florals accented farm tables at the reception, while candles and bistro lights overhead provided a romantic glow for the evening. It was all captured beautifully by Richard Bell Photography, and we cannot wait for you to see all the pretty!
