With its aged brick façade, old world architecture, and tables tucked into a garden, Casa Feliz was a beautiful backdrop for Teri and Jonathan’s elegant wedding day. Although the venue is located in the heart of Winter Park, Florida overlooking a golf course, I completely forgot I was witnessing a wedding in the United States while viewing the couple’s photos captured by V List Member Concept Photography. I was convinced T+J had invited their guests on a European getaway to witness their vows! With bright florals, bridesmaids in lovely champagne gowns, and a couple who chose their vendor team based on the relationships they felt they could build with each member, I’m so excited for you to see this completely elegant and chic soiree.

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

Jonathan was a huge help during the planning process. He was just as excited as I was for our wedding day and we wanted to make it about us. He helped every step of the way, from setting up appointments to giving his feedback on even the smallest details. I was never the girl who dreamt of her wedding day – obsessing endlessly over all the minute details – so having Jonathan involved in the process made it even more enjoyable.

The wedding day savior was our coordinator, Tracy Marini of Eventfully Yours. Leading up to our wedding day she was available to answer any questions, share ideas, provide feedback, and to fill in any missing details. As our wedding day quickly approached, the many hours we spent with her finalizing the details of the event put us at ease and allowed Jonathan and I to let go and enjoy the day.

What was the most important thing to you when deciding whom to work with for your wedding?

It was important to us to not only find vendors who were passionate about what they do but also with whom we connected with on a personal level. Our initial meetings with vendors were less about their resume and more about the dialog and connection we had with them. We were extremely fortunate to have such an amazing group of vendors to work with. Because of their knowledge and hard work it turned out to be more than I could have ever imagined.

What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?

I didn’t actually have a specific inspiration for our wedding day detail or design. I wanted everything about our wedding to be romantic and elegant – with a touch of chic. Everything about our wedding incorporated those elements – from the flowers to the venue – down to every last detail.

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

Having all of our family and friends in one place, at one time, surrounding us with their love and support – besides marrying Jonathan, of course!

What is your best piece of advice for other brides?

Enjoy the process – every aspect. It will be over in a blink of an eye, so don’t let the stress detract from enjoying your wedding day.  After all this is the best day of your life…ever!

Y’all, not every wedding has details that cause my jaw to drop, but Rachel and Steven’s Florida wedding is just that magical. The celebration began at St James Catholic Cathedral where Rachel walked down the aisle with her mom in a lace gown complete with a cathedral length veil perfectly styled for such a stunning ceremony. After Rachel and Steven exchanged their vows, the soiree moved to nearby Cyprus Grove Estate House for a beautiful garden party set underneath a tent complete with café lights. I can talk to you all day about the gorgeous flowers designed by Fiora Design Studio, but the majority of our chat would center on the unreal sweetheart table. You absolutely must see it! If it’s not obvious already, I absolutely adore Rachel and Steven’s wedding day and can’t wait for you to take a peek at all of the images captured by KT Crabb Photography!

If you’re thinking about having a beach wedding, we say “Go for it!”. The beach is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places a couple can choose to start their life together. However, we have done quite a few beach weddings, and we’ve learned that there are definitely a few things you’ll want to consider as you plan…

9 Things You Need To Consider For A Beach Wedding via TheELD.com

By Pure7 Studios

1) Time of Year

The time of year you decide to do a beach wedding can change things a lot. Price, availability, weather, tourists, and the guests you desire to attend should all be considered when deciding what time of the year to get married at the beach. It’s your wedding, but if you want the people you love there it is courteous to consider their traveling expenses (as well as your own), and time of year does play a part in vacation planning in regards to budget.

2) Time of Day

When planning an outdoor or beach wedding, you need to know what time of day is best for the ceremony when it comes to light (for photos and video) and temperature (for the comfort of you and our guests). Even on a perfect day, there are less desirable times to be outside (unless you’re in a bathing suit). On the Emerald Coast, the typical ceremony start time is 90 minutes before sunset, but seeking the advice of a wedding professional in your area for expertise is recommended.

3) Private or Public Beach

If you want privacy you need to make sure you pick a venue that can accommodate. Not all destination or accommodations have private beaches.

4) Ceremony Length

Being on the beach takes people away from shade, drinking water, and bathrooms so keep that in mind when planning out the ceremony. Even if you do create shade or offer water and restrooms, you don’t want all of your guests and wedding party standing and sitting in sun, heat, wind, or rain for too long.

5) Sound for the Ceremony

Depending on when and where you decide to do a beach wedding, it could be a bit noisy. The natural sound of waves crashing and a breeze is wonderful – unless you’re trying to hear people you love saying their I Do’s. We recommend using a professional sound system with wireless microphones and speakers to make sure that your guests don’t miss the vows while sitting at your ceremony. Your wedding coordinator should be able to help you secure with with ease.

6) The Guests

Sand isn’t the easiest to get around on so if your wedding is on the beach, identify guests who won’t do well on the sand (grandparents, wheelchairs, etc.), so you can come up with a way for them to attend safely and comfortably. In addition, make sure to let all guests know the ceremony is taking place on the beach so they can dress accordingly.

7) The Photographer and Videographer

It’s important to choose a photographer and videographer who have plenty of experience in documenting beach weddings. The weather and lighting on the beach is always unpredictable, so you need to make you have hired someone skilled and prepared to preserve your best moments no matter what curveballs Mother Nature may throw. The photos and wedding video are the only thing you get to take with you in addition to your new spouse. We want to love them just as much as you love your partner!

8) Tan Lines

If you are getting married on the beach you’re either a local (and probably in the sun a lot), or planning a destination wedding (and coming for a long weekend or week). Brides-to-be need to wear plenty of sunscreen and make sure their swimsuits and wedding dress have similar straps. You don’t want end up burned or with bright tan lines on your big day. We recommend the same thing for bridesmaids.

9) Having a back up plan

Mother Nature doesn’t always cooperate. What are you going to do if it’s too windy/rainy come the big day? The golden rule says that those who have a back up plan rarely need it – so look into it and think of it as an insurance policy!

So there you have it! A few of the things that you need to consider if you’re planning on having a beach wedding! Are you considering having your wedding on the beach?

Stephanie and Kevin’s beautiful Vermont wedding took place nestled among the enchanting mountains and valleys surrounding Blueberry Hill Inn. Inspired by the natural beauty of Vermont, the couple’s wedding weekend was an intimate gathering of friends and family filled with rustic details, natural elements, and tons of love. Everything about this wedding is going to take your breath away- from the beautiful images captured by Tiffany Medrano Photography (including the most amazing “family portrait” with the bride and groom and their dogs), all the way to the sparks of the bonfire that punctuated the very last moments of the evening…

From the bride, Stephanie:

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

My best friend, Nichole.  She carried me through the entire process.  I would come home from work some days to packages of things she found on Etsy… the custom cornhole boards, engraved wooden candles, my ring box, the heart shaped sparklers.  It was crazy.  She is amazing.  I would have been lost without her.

What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?

It was important to me that those I would be working with have the patience and willingness to understand my vision for the day.  I did not always know how to express what I wanted from each vendor but I tried explaining the “feel” of what I was going for, if that makes sense.  I wanted them to use their expertise to guide me in how I could achieve my vision… and they did!

What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?

Vermont’s natural beauty was my inspiration.  I wanted a tent in an open field in the middle of nowhere under the beautiful, unpolluted, Vermont skies with views of the most and brightest stars you have ever seen surrounded by my closest family and friends.  It was important to us that we have the people we love most in the world experience the place that makes us feel happiest.  We wanted to play off of the naturally beautiful setting our venue provided us.  Lighting is very important to me – so the stars, the bonfire, the café lights, and the floating candles all worked to create that enchanting feel I was going for.  We were thrilled to have the beautifully crafted farmhouse tables – there was no need for a runner. And the chiavari chairs added this amazing and elegant contrast.  The heart and arrow theme just happened and we wanted to subtly implement that in the smaller details.

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

Other than marrying the love of my life?  J At the end of the night there was a moment when I looked around the tent at our families and friends completely intermingled, laughing, dancing, and desperately trying to light the heart shaped sparklers (they were stubborn sparklers) – it was so intimate and everyone looked so happy…   that was my favorite thing.  Well, that and my mum reprimanding me for dancing too close to the bonfire in my wedding dress.  It was so funny and loving.  I will always be the little girl my mother needs to keep in line.

What is your best piece of advice for other brides?

To do whatever you possibly can to relax, enjoy, and take it all in on your big day.  You plan so much for so long and everything you have been thinking about and coordinating for months is finally happening; it actually felt surreal.  The reality of it can be overwhelming.  There will likely be a few things that don’t go exactly as planned and you just have to embrace it.  Just breathe and enjoy – it’s your day!

I love the way Stephanie and Kevin embraced the beauty of their surroundings and used it as the inspiration for their wedding! And how adorable are those portraits with their dogs?! PS- I think every wedding should end with a bonfire, don’t you?

So tell me- what inspired you for your wedding design? Was it the location, or something else? I’d love to hear!
