After graduating from college, Allie and Ryan each moved to Tampa. It wasn’t until they both spent a year working for the same insurance company that they would meet. These two quickly became a sweet pair, which lead to an engagement during a trip to Siesta Key.

Because they both adore Tampa, they knew they wanted to showcase their city. They opted for a pink palette (the bride’s grandmother always adored pink!), and they kept each and every detail as classic as possible at the University Club of Tampa. The views are simply stunning, y’all! Through volunteering, Allie developed a friendship with one of our favorite V List Member wedding professionals – Andrea Layne Floral Design! Naturally, Allie had only one florist in mind to create her pink bouquet, ivory boutonnieres, and pink hydrangea filled centerpieces, and it was Andrea. We love hearing stories like this one!

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

I met with a good friend who was getting married a few months before me. She gave me great recommendations for my vendors which was beyond helpful. One of her recommendations was day of coordinator Ashley Packett. She was amazing! My mom and I said after the wedding we had no stress that day and that was because of Ashley who made sure the whole day went perfect.

What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?

I looked for vendors I really connected with and saw their work. We met Lifelong Studios at a wedding show and immediately connected with them and loved their albums and photography. We found out at our consultation that Buffy our photographer actually went to the same high school as Ryan. For our flowers I volunteer with Andrea Layne in the Junior League of Tampa. I had seen her work and there was no question I wanted to work with her her creations are so unique and personalized. We also could tell Tony at the University Club loved his job and knew he would make sure the day was great. For the DJ I wanted to work with Grant Hemond because of their great reputation. I heard they are professional while being tons of fun and making sure all your guests have a fabulous time.

What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?

Ryan and I are both from the bay area and we met in Tampa. Our inspiration was classic Tampa. We really wanted to showcase our city. I am a parishioner at Sacred Heart Church. It is a beautiful and classic church in Tampa so it was the perfect place for the ceremony. The University Club is on the top of One Tampa City Center and has huge windows so you can have wonderful views of Tampa.

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

Personally it was seeing Ryan at the end of the aisle as I walked down I was so excited to marry him. Vendor wise the beautiful flowers and reception venue will always stick out in my mind. I almost made the mistake of not taking a quick first look at the reception venue. I’m so glad we were able to take a look before all our guests came in. I was blown away by the gorgeous flowers and the reception set up. Andrea and Tony went above and beyond.

What is your best piece of advice for other brides?

As everyone says the day flies by so take time to take it all in and spend time with your guests. We booked the reception venue for an additional hour which I would definitely recommend. Also trust your vendors. Give them your vision and let them run with it. They are the professionals and you hired them for a reason so trust their judgment and you won’t be disappointed.

Today’s North Carolina wedding is oh-so-classic, and we cannot wait to share it with you! Victoria and Ben planned their Charlotte wedding from afar, so they relied heavily on the team of vendors they carefully assembled. Rather than opting for a wedding theme, Victoria and Ben instead chose to focus on their color palette – ivory, black, and gold – and mix in classic details in order for their Ballantyne Hotel & Lodge soiree to feel sophisticated and elegant. They absolutely accomplished their goal!

Victoria wore a stunning Modern Trousseau gown that she purchased from Charlotte bridal shop Hayden Olivia, while Ben looked sharp in his classic tuxedo. The pair loved the time they spent together during their first look, and Victoria also did a first look with her dad (so sweet, y’all!). A “S” was carefully designed from petals by Springvine Design, and even more gorgeous florals (hello, hydrangeas!) filled their reception space inside the lodge.

How to Save Time While Planning Your Wedding with Fiverr

While we’re culling images and reading through all of the details for each real wedding we post for you all to enjoy, we’re always eager to read each bride’s story about how she planned her wedding. In our interviews we always ask where brides turned for inspiration (we’re delighted when we hear how much they relied on ELD!), which vendors they adored, and each post is capped off with their very best piece of advice for other brides currently planning their weddings.

Although each and every couple’s wedding planning journey is different, there’s always a few common threads. The most common: how couples save time while planning their wedding. Some hire wedding planners (a service we cannot recommend enough!) while others ask friends and family to chip in (a fun and helpful way to involve your nearest and dearest!). Although both options work well, we have another idea for you…

Seek out Fiverr for help (and to win $25,000)!

We will forever stand behind our mission to hire fantastic vendors for your wedding professional team, which is evident in how much we adore the members of the V List. However, there are so many to-dos that need to be checked off while planning, and Fiverr is a great source for help! With service costs starting at $5, we thought we would share our top five favorite services offered by Fiverr and their team of creative professionals.

Virtual Wedding Assistant: A wedding assistant should not replace a wedding planner; however, a virtual wedding assistant can absolutely prove to be a vital asset! Think about asking an assistant to help you to narrow in on your to-do list (or even create a list that is categorized and easy to complete!), source a guest book, create a seating chart, and more.

Wedding Stamps: You can absolutely stop by the post office and efficiently purchase stamps; however, we love the idea of using a customized stamp to complete your save-the-dates, invitations, and thank you notes! Your initials and wedding date can be printed on the design in your wedding colors, plus you can also use the design on welcome bags and favors.

Wedding Monogram: We know so many brides cannot wait to debut their new monogram, and we love the idea of personalizing your wedding with your initials. Your wedding monogram can be used in so many different ways, but we love the idea of adding this detail to wedding websites, stationery, and your dance floor.

Table Numbers: We believe a complete wedding design is created through sourcing details large and small, and your table numbers complete your table’s design. Rather than simply using an existing font in Word, turn to one of Fiverr’s designers to create a custom option for you that will match your design’s aesthetic. Design tip: adding a frame is a great way to complete the look!

Customized Social Media: We love when couples personalize their wedding by adding a custom hashtag; however, the entire ELD team knows how difficult it can be to think of one that’s unique! Rather than doing the guesswork on your own, turn to one of Fiverr’s digital experts to create a custom hashtag for you. We also love the idea of having custom filters created for Snapchat!

Erica and Austin’s gorgeous rustic garden wedding took place at the McKee Botanical Garden in Florida and was filled with shades of pink and blush, sparkling gold, and natural details. Elegant and welcoming, their day was a perfect mix of lush garden beauty and rustic character. Wooden signage, garlands of greenery, and glittering sequin linens are just a few of the elements that we’ve fallen in love with, and we’re positive you will too. It’s likely all because the couple turned to An Affair To Remember to help them plan and design their gorgeous day, and Kristen Weaver Photography was there to capture it all… we can’t wait for you to see for yourself!
