Drawing inspiration from the bride’s own classic style, today’s North Carolina wedding planned and designed by Leigh Pearce Weddings is sure to add some pretty to your week! A color palette of champagne, green, and white was the perfect choice for Anna and Jack’s timeless soiree at WinMock in Winston-Salem. Lush florals in green and white were a beautiful match for flowing sage green bridesmaid dresses, and Anna’s stunning lace gown has us absolutely head-over-heels! Of course with the lovely Leigh Pearce behind the design and flow of the day you most certainly cannot go wrong! Anna is here with us today sharing her wedding planning insights, and we can’t wait for you see each and every moment and detail captured by Alexa’s Photography!

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

My wedding planner, Leigh Pearce, was extremely helpful in the planning process. She was able to take my ideas and turn them into more than I could have imagined! Also, my mom was a huge help. She took on a lot of the small details that I didn’t have the time or energy to focus on.

What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?

To me, it was most important to feel comfortable and assured that the basic style I liked would be designed without having to micromanage every decision. My wedding planning did a fabulous job of learning what I liked and making every decision with that in mind.

What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?

My inspiration was classic and timeless. I am not a crafty, artistic or edgy person and I wanted my wedding to represent my individual style.

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

My favorite thing about my wedding was that it was truly such a beautiful and joyful party! Everything ran so smoothly that it allowed me and my husband to focus on being in the moment and celebrate the day together with our closest family and friends! I also really loved our band!

What is your best piece of advice for other brides?

My best piece of advice to other brides would be to make the best decisions for you and your husband. There are going to be many outside opinions but you can’t make everyone happy. Do what feels best for you! And remember that at the end of it all, the small details that stressed you out will not be remembered. You will remember the moments between you and your new husband and all the people who were there to witness it!

After Lauren’s most recent trip to Italy to attend a destination wedding (you can catch a few of her pictures on Instagram!), it’s safe to say each and every member of the ELD Team continues to have a touch of wanderlust. What better way to cure our travel bug than turn to the vetted and verified vendors of The V List? We put out a call for the best destination weddings for which our members have ever planned, styled, photographed, or created pieces. The result: an incredible mix of destinations far and wide that we are sure you’re going to love just as much as we do!

Make sure to keep reading below, and always remember: a destination wedding is one that must occur at least 100-150 miles from the couple’s home. We will also add to that definition that a destination wedding is not necessarily one where the bride and groom travel home to celebrate because they live in a different city. Think of a destination wedding as a soiree in which you take your love story on the road accompanied by your nearest and dearest that culminates in a trip of a lifetime for all!

Breezy Ocean Inspired Wedding Ideas

Breezy, romantic, and eclectic, these ocean inspired wedding ideas we have for you today are absolutely beautiful! A color palette made up of shades of pale blue, peach, and persimmon add a beautifully colorful perspective to the typical “beach” wedding day look. Elements such as starfish, shells, and driftwood are a must, while touches of gold glitter and soft, romantic fabric adds a uniqueness to the ocean inspired design created by A Rose Designs. You definitely don’t want to miss the cake inspired by the beauty of ocean waves, sitting atop a platform of driftwood, and the bride’s ethereal, flowing gowns, all captured beautifully by Jessica Connery Photography.

Loose tendrils of hair escape from a soft braid as her veil catches a gust of wind. Tall grasses wave in the breeze as the late afternoon sun creates shadows on her irises from her eyelashes. From the beautiful hand-torn invitations, the color of delicate sea glass, to the pieces of driftwood delicately framing the centerpieces, this ocean inspired wedding brings a breath of salty air much needed after winter.
The cake was conceptualized with the froth of the ocean in mind. Poured sugar crests over the top of the cake like a wave. Hand-painted fondant crabs cling to the edges and delicate treasures of the sea adorn the tiers on this ethereal delectable dessert.
A dazzling 360° table design delights the eyes from all angles. Adopting the ebb and flow of the ocean the table decor weaves from end to end of the table. Bright florals, unfinished wood boxes, sea glass, vintage-style fishing net floats, lanterns, driftwood, and soft brass candleholders all come together as gentle references to coastal life. Using a farm table with french country chairs preserves the organic feel of the tablescape.
The first featured dress is a godet flared Skirt gown from the Alfred Angelo Bridal Collection. With it’s beautiful beading, sheer yoke, and sweetheart neckline this sophisticated wedding dress brings an elegance to the wedding style. A colorful headpiece and a soft braid were added for style and harmony. Soft makeup and a dash of bold lashes complete the balance between polished and carefree.
The second featured dress highlights a mermaid fit-and-flare style with a beaded bodice and sweetheart neckline. A unique sheer back yoke balances the the softly flared skirt. A fingertip length veil allows the soft breeze to showcase itself as the veil lifts and floats delicately around the bride.
A lush, flowing, hand-tied bouquet mimics the coastal flowers as they sway in the breeze. Soft caraluna garden roses and velvety dusty miller balance the pops of blue delphinium, and poppy pink roses. Hand torn and carefully died muslin ribbons wrap the stems carefully creating a comfortable hand hold for this hefty bouquet.

Chic Kate Spade Inspired Oklahoma Wedding

Taylor and Jason’s chic Oklahoma wedding took place in November, and the design is beautifully modern, yet completely classic and true to them – the best! Taylor loves Kate Spade, so naturally, the pair incorporated Kate Spade’s eponymous style (think: classic details, stripes, and gold confetti), but I love how they made their design their own too. The couple wanted their wedding to honor the fall season when their soiree took place, so they filled their palette with a bold color palette made up of shades of black, white, red, purple, green, and gold (of course!).

Taylor and Jason will also be the first to tell you how much they valued their event planner, Leslie Herring Events! We also have to note how much we love the emotion filled photos captured by Kristen Edwards Photography. The fact that Kristen and her husband were able to capture photos of the couple together prior to the ceremony without the couple actually seeing each other is brilliant and a serious feat (Jason didn’t want to do a first look because he wanted to see Taylor for the first time as she walked down the aisle)! Taylor is here with us today to share more about her wedding planning experience- we can’t wait for you to see all of the pretty! Welcome to Oklahoma City, y’all!

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

Our wedding planner, Leslie of Leslie Herring Events, was a complete life saver! My mom was also there to help every step of the way. We made a great team!

What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?

Having Leslie as our wedding planner, really took the work out of finding the right vendors for our special day. By taking her advice, we trusted that she would only work with the best of the best and we couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out!

What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?

I LOVE Kate Spade, but her colors tend to be more suited for Spring and Summer weddings. My wedding took place in November so I took her black and white stripes and gold polka dot patterns and incorporated them with darker, more vibrant fall colors.

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

Aside from marrying my best friend, my favorite part of our wedding was being able to share it with all of our closest friends and family… especially my grandma. She passed away just a few short months after the wedding and I know that it meant the world to her to be there. We love and miss you Mem’l!

What is your best piece of advice for other brides?

Getting a wedding planner is totally worth it! I don’t know how many times my mom and I said, “I don’t know how we could have done this without her!” It really took the stress out of everything from choosing the vendors to the flow of the day. It was also nice to have a professional to turn to when we had questions about anything. Also, make sure to invest in a great photographer. Kristen Edwards and her husband did a great job. I’m glad that we have such wonderful photos to look back on and cherish forever!
