Peaches, peonies, and pink take center stage in today’s beautiful vintage modern wedding ideas. Taking place at The Bradford in North Carolina, the secluded estate was the perfect location for a design that blends modern elements with vintage details, created by Ladybird Events. A bold color palette of hot pink and yellow, a beautiful blush rosette-adorned linen, and peaches and peonies combined perfectly to create a vintage modern look perfect for spring or summer. And of course we can’t forget the gorgeous bride and dapper groom (in a white tuxedo no less), whose happiness and love is absolutely contagious! All of the inspiration was captured by ELD favorite Mikkel Paige, and we cannot wait for you to be just as inspired by it as we are!

From the event team:

The Bradford in North Carolina is a unique secluded estate house on beautiful grounds with a luxurious yet approachable feel. This venue was the perfect backdrop for our modern-elements meets vintage-details wedding. Although hints of blush and ivory were mainly used throughout the shoot, the tabletop, cake, and flowers provided a subtle pop of color to the scene with either hot pink, coral or green. The invitation added extra whimsy including black and white stripes. All of the beautiful details were captured to perfection, from the groom’s white tuxedo and bride’s sleek hair style, to the boxes of peaches, blooming peonies, hand painted cake and strapless wedding gown.

Logan proposed to Tina in a lighthouse overlooking Tybee Island, the pair were photographed PSJ Photography on a boat during their engagement session, and their beautiful pink and gray wedding took place beside a gorgeous lake at Paradise Cove in Orlando. It’s clear these two share a love for being by the water, and I love how that sweet element is carried throughout their engagement and wedding journeys together!

Tina and Logan celebrated becoming Mr. and Mrs. on January 1, which means the first day of each new year will always be special and hold so much promise. The bridesmaids wore gorgeous gray dresses, and the bouquets filled with soft pink and white florals designed by Julia’s Floral Designs looked stunning! Tina’s bouquet also included succulents, which we always love seeing at ELD. PSJ made sure to capture lovely portraits of the bride and groom by the water before they stepped into their reception. Hydrangeas, roses, and greenery accented the tables, and the overall feel of this fete is beautiful, relaxed, and completely classic.

We’re sending so much love to PSJ Photography for sharing Tina and Logan’s wedding day with us! Make sure to enjoy each and every one of the photos included below.

It’s oh-so-fitting that we are sharing Kristin and Ryan’s St. Pete wedding today because it’s full of two of Lauren’s favorite things: St. Petersburg and color! And today just so happens to be our Fearless Leader’s BIRTHDAY! Whether you follow along on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter or simply read our blog, please wish Lauren the happiest of days. She’s our favorite, friends.

Kristin is a teacher, and she knew she wanted to get married during the summer. However, the Florida heat caused her and Ryan to change their outdoor wedding into one that was held inside at Mirror Lake Lyceum. K+R planned their wedding in just six months, and the pair knew they wanted to fill their reception space with beautiful pops of color. Their bright pink, coral, white, and gold palette is fantastic, y’all! The ceremony aisles were lined with blooms by one of our wonderful go-to gals, Andrea Layne Floral Design, and candles and even more flowers surrounded them while they recited their vows. Inside the reception space, the tables featured the prettiest opulent centerpieces and the cake by Hands on Sweets is definitely not to be missed!

Kristin is graciously chatting with us below in order to share her best planning secrets (she and Ryan allocated their budget to their top three must-haves first – a great idea), plus Sarah and Ben captured each and every can’t-miss-it image below.

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

I didn’t have a wedding planner, I mostly planned on my own through the use of Pinterest and blogs. My Pinterest boards were extremely organized and this helped me keep track of my “vision” for the wedding. We were only engaged for 6 months, I had to get started right away and make decisions pretty quickly.

We selected our photographers first and they gave us great recommendations for vendors. We ended up going with many of their preferred vendors…so it made for a great team! We had our friend, Brittani Luongo, coordinate day of. She did a great job connecting with the vendors and keeping everything on track throughout the day. There day went extremely smooth!

What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?

We personally met with every vendor for the wedding. We wanted to use local, small businesses for everything. And I loved that all our vendors were great people who had extreme attention to detail. At our consultation meetings, all my vendors seemed to capture my vision and they really made all the details feel custom. I was able to trust all of them 100% when I came to the day of the I wedding.

What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?

I really wanted an outdoor, garden wedding but we also wanted to get married in the summer. (I’m a teacher and have summers off!) Since we live in Florida, an outdoor wedding in late June was out of the question. For this reason, I tried to use a lot of florals and bright natural, colors inside.

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

The cake and the band!

I thought the cake was a beautiful centerpiece at the reception. As soon as it arrived, during our reception set-up, I was all smiles and couldn’t wait for everyone to see it. And it tasted amazing. HandsOnSweets is who made our cake and they are wonderful.

The band made the night a total party. It was a definitely a splurge and not in our original budget, but we shifted things around and made it work. In the end, the live music definitely brought the party to the next level. We danced the entire reception!

What is your best piece of advice for other brides?

If you have a budget, put money towards things that matter to you and save on things that aren’t a big deal to you.

To me, I wanted great food, flowers and great music..that’s where we splurged. The rest we were conservative in the costs.

From Kelly:

There’s just no denying it. If you see a flamingo, you’re going to smile. And when you see a gold flamingo and a pink flamingo hugging necks you might just squeal a little! This inspiration shoot came on the whim of a cheerful conversation I was having with Tiffany at Hunter Ryan Photo about brunch and boutique weddings. We both love the light and cheerful mood that brunch and boutique evokes. So with that said we went straight into planning mode. I came up with the concept and then we both tossed around some locations until we remembered the awesome hidden gem of Tarpon Lodge.

It was important to me to truly inspire an approach to a wedding that was meant to be about joy and happiness, to feel very Florida and to be obtainable and to also feel every bit of luxurious and classy. With a color palette of flamingo pink, island blue, sunrise coral, white and gold, I think we hit the nail on the head. And of course, with watercolor being one of my favorite trends, that had to be incorporated that as well. The petals on the cake were even water color! For floral it was about a fresh cut look, nothing structured except the vessels. Add in a touch of modern geometric elements in the tablescape vessels and magic happened. Fashion is of course not to be missed! Often I think that brides are afraid that they can’t go full formal on a destination wedding. I think this proves just the opposite! The tuxedo, full gown & veil… they fit right in. How amazing are the photos on the dock? I die. And let’s not forget the Haute Bride jewels. Oh how they sparkle in the sun. One of the 2 skirts we used on the Kelly Chase Paper Doll Collection dress is actually hand painted, one of a kind! This shoot means so much to us because we love genuine Florida inspired weddings and if this doesn’t capture everything that is so full of sunshine and joy that Florida is, then I don’t know what does!
