Perhaps it’s because I love Christmas, but December weddings are some of my favorites! Venues have a touch of holiday style, and most guests are already in a festive mood. Cassie and Russell definitely added to the happiness of the season with their December 19 wedding in Georgia at the lovely Pebble Hill Plantation.

Cassie and Russell’s sweet soiree began with an unplugged ceremony. The best way to introduce the concept to guests is with a sign complete with beautiful calligraphy! The aisle was marked with white roses and greenery, and as Cassie walked down the aisle guests were able to see the wreaths on the plantation’s windows in honor of the season.

Post ceremony, the pair welcomed guests to their outdoor reception in the courtyard (the joys of living in the South in winter!). The couple’s event planner, florist, and designer, Carol Cartee Creations, whom they note was the day’s most valuable vendor, collected pieces of driftwood for their wood and floral centerpieces. Guests feasted on a taco bar (so fun!), and string lights and globes adorned the trees to light up the night sky. We are so excited that Dana Goodson Photography captured the day beautifully and shared Cassie and Russell’s fabulous wedding day with Every Last Detail!

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

WITHOUT A DOUBT my wedding planner and day of coordinator were the most helpful with the planning process and on our wedding day. Not once did I ever have to worry about a thing while planning or even on the day of.

What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?

If I had to choose one thing, I would say that the most important thing to me when deciding who to work with for our wedding was the speed of responsiveness and follow through with the vendor. When I contacted someone that I was interested in working with, it made me feel like he/she really cared about working with me and would be responsible as the planning continued when I received a quick response. It was such a relief to know that I could count on my vendors and all of the individuals that helped make our day perfect.

What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?

We wanted our wedding to be classy and elegant yet still fun and unique to us.

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

My favorite thing about our wedding would probably have to be all of the little details. Our gourmet taco bar featured taco bell sauce packets we had collected that said “Will you marry me” and “I Do”, we had DIY crafted beer/wine bars, and our centerpieces incorporated pieces of driftwood that my wedding planner found locally. It really is very hard to choose one favorite thing when you have the wedding of your dreams, but I think the little details made it special/unique to us as a couple.

What is your best piece of advice for other brides?

My best piece of advice for other brides when planning is to incorporate your personalities into the design and then take time to reflect on those on the day of. Even though some may stick with one type of “style” we incorporated anything and everything that we liked or was unique to us. On the day of, we took time to look at everything and really take it all in. I’m so glad we did that because the day goes by so fast and we didn’t want to miss any of the details that people worked so hard for us to incorporate.

I love when a wedding day exudes warmth, and that was absolutely the case for Amber and Dustin’s beautiful day! The pair’s North Carolina wedding took place at The Saratoga Springs, where the space exudes a relaxed quality that makes it feel lived in and approachable, just like home. When I realized it was a venue (a Southern plantation, which explains the warm feeling!), I was over the moon. Charlotte couples, take note!

A+D’s soiree was oh-so-romantic and felt like it had been taken from the pages of the best storybook days. The girls got ready inside the plantation’s home where Amber slipped into her fantastic mermaid tulle gown. The bridesmaids donned grey floor length gowns (love them!), and the gents sported bow ties. I couldn’t help but smile when I saw Amber and Dustin’s first look, and the portraits with the wedding party are some of my favorites (the light is beautiful!).

The ceremony was held outside on the plantation’s lovely grounds, and a horse and carriage awaited the new Mr. and Mrs. just after they said, “We do!”.  Post ceremony, guests were invited into a tent on the lawn for an outdoor reception. The groom and his mom choreographed a dance, the groom’s cake honored his love for his job as a fireman, and the pair made their exit on a fire truck.

Today’s plantation soiree is gorgeous with it’s soft gray, pink, and ivory palette, and I’m sending so much gratitude to Casey Hendrickson Photography for sending Amber and Dustin’s day our way!

Industrial, chic, and rustic, this Palm Springs wedding is everything that dreams are made of. With their wedding taking place at the breathtaking Korakia Pensione and planning from the UK, Liz and Mik turned to Michelle Garibay Events to assist them in planning and designing a beautifully intimate day surrounded by their closest friends and family. A neutral color palette of green, white, and gray mixed in with industrial details and rustic elements created a romantic aesthetic absolutely perfect for Liz and Mik’s celebration. Lucky for us, Leah Marie Photography captured each and every detail (like the popcorn bar!), and we think you’re going to love it just as much as we do!

From Michelle Garibay:

With Liz and Mik planning form the UK, giving them peace of mind was my top priority. After our initial planning consultation, they allowed me to design their wedding with quite a bit creative freedom, so the visuals were a important part of the process in getting their final approvals. Of course, my favorite part was seeing the details of the tablescape come together and the mix of rustic, elegant and industrial pieces. The neutral blooms added romance and brightness and the barn doors with their initials in succulents was a stunning focal point for the ceremony. I loved the addition of cotton balls into Liz’s bouquet – a small detail that made such an impact. Liz and Mik wanted a relaxed family-focused event so the popcorn bar and movie were perfect for their style. Their personalities were reflected in each and every element on their wedding day which was so fun to see unfold!

Today’s calligraphy inspired wedding ideas are gorgeously elegant. A color palette made up of shades of peaches and blushes, lush florals, and candlelight creates the most perfect romantic aesthetic.  Inspired by the classic beauty and art behind calligraphy, Lauren Perry’s whimsical and timeless calligraphy designs set the stage with a hand-painted linen adorned by peach florals and organic greenery. Kimberly Florence Photography captured it all, and we can’t wait for you to be inspired by this beautifully elegant design!

From Kimberly Florence Photography:

The inspiration from this shoot came from the classic beauty and art behind calligraphy. The Portmouth Women’s Club was the perfect venue for our shoot because it is a blank canvas, which allowed us to run with our vision of a detailed wedding without making it seem cluttered by the background of the venue. Lauren Perry’s distinctive calligraphy designs truly brought this shoot to life. Her style is fun and whimsical while still timeless and elegant. We wanted to add some fun and bright spring colors to her work while still honoring the more traditional side of a wedding. The hand-painted linen that was placed on the sweetheart table really stole the show. Lauren spent hours painting the linen with romantic lyrics from a Dave Matthew’s Band song- so dreamy! The meticulous design of the sweetheart table was topped off with unique plates, glasses and flatware from Mad Hatter Vintage and hand-sewn napkins made by the talented Mimmi and Bee!

Fluttering Flowers really outdid themselves with the florals for this shoot. The soft, fluffy flower arrangements paired with the charming vintage rentals really tied together the more “conventional” side of this shoot.

Hummingbird Macaroons brought in the most adorable and delicious macaroons ever! I wish you could have plucked one right out the picture and tasted it! Lauren wanted to add a detailed twist to the already overplayed “macaroon”. So, she decided to add a touch of calligraphy to them using edible markers! This small detail was an easy way to completely customize the treats. Add in a cotton candy cocktail bar and you are sure to win over the guests’ hearts! Lovely Retro Reno’s created a wooden Virginia sign for us to include in the shoot! This fun element, while gorgeous, was also a creative way to show our heritage and state pride. Element’s like these brought out the more “quirky” side of the shoot!

Bridal Beauty Hampton Roads did a flawless job at making our bride feel like a princess on this special day. For our couple- this day was more than just a casting call- it was a glimpse into their future! Shelby and Eric are getting married in August at the Portsmouth Women’s Club! They have been together for quite some time now and their love for one another is so apparent. The way Eric looked at Shelby during her bridal portraits could only be described as something straight out of a fairy tale. I have no doubt in my mind that their wedding day will be just as beautiful and detailed as the shoot we prepared!

Our hopes for this shoot was to encourage readers to put fourth time and effort into including intricate details in their wedding. These details, while small and often overlooked during the wedding planning process, are and excellent way to show your personality as individuals and as a couple to your guests. Thank your guests for their love and support by making them feeling special and important with little details! Even seeing their name on a place card is enough to make an impact!
