This elegant Illinois wedding is stunning. Liz + Jimmy envisioned that their wedding day would exude luxury, so in order to make that a reality, they quickly turned to wedding planner Cynthia of Everlasting Elegant Wedding. It’s safe to say Cynthia didn’t miss a beat!
The beautiful Hotel Baker exudes historic elegance, and it served as the venue for L+J’s lovely wedding day. Arrangements by Kio Kreations overflowed with roses in shades of white and ivory with just a touch of blush for romance as Liz notes below. I’m completely swooning over the centerpieces, and I also love the touches of gold (Liz’s favorite color!) amongst all of the florals. Guests were greeted with white a white bloom and gold leaf at every place setting, plus chocolates from Graham’s Chocolates (located in Geneva!) were placed in gorgeous boxes and tied with a bow. And that was before any of the guests danced on the illuminated dance floor. Can you imagine? So fun, elegant, and pretty! Every moment is captured by one of our favorites Rachael Osborn Photography, and Liz is sharing much more of her advice below!
What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?
My wedding would have never come together so perfectly that it did without my wedding planner (Cynthia Rensink at Everlasting Elegant Weddings) and mother. The wedding planner helped in every aspect of planning and offered great advice throughout the process. My mother helped me keep everything organized and provided constant support throughout the process.
What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?
The most important thing was to make sure they understood my vision and we were on the same page with the meanings and visuals of the words that described it.
What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?
I have a love for anything gold, so having gold in my theme was a no-brainer! I also love elegant, classic wedding decor with a lot of white and soft blushes. I think both really came together beautifully in the details.
What was your favorite thing about your wedding?
My favorite thing was having all of our friends and family together having the time of their lives! There’s nothing like it.
What is your best piece of advice for other brides?
Enjoy your day! Not everything is going to be exactly how you envisioned it, but your guests won’t notice and they will still have a blast. Let go of the things you cannot control. It’s the best day of your life and it goes by so fast!
