A winter wedding with an elegant color palette of white, cream, and green created a beautifully subtle holiday inspired design. Despite their love for the holidays and choosing a winter wedding date, this couple wanted to make sure they didn’t focus their wedding style on Christmas-inspired details, but we love that it was the perfect mix of class and elegance with the tiniest hints of holiday cheer.
Ben and Mary Bailey’s wedding day was full of perfect moments and sentimental details that we are just smitten over. These high school sweethearts who had known each other since they were toddlers wed in the same church where they first met, and we love that Mary Bailey’s gown was the perfect match to her mother’s veil that her mother wore on her own wedding day.
This couple shared a beautiful evening of fun and joyful celebration, and we are thrilled to share their favorite details from the day along with the gorgeous images captured by Eliza Morrill Photography.
Tell us a little a bit about your wedding (your vision, color, style, and location choices).
We wanted all neutrals— lots of creams and white and gold. We envisioned a Winter Wonderland/ holiday wedding. As much as I love and enjoy Christmas, I wanted to avoid the Christmas theme. Our wedding was located in Columbus Georgia where we met and grew up together. Our venue was the RiverMill event center.
What was the most important to the two of you while planning? Was there anything that you chose to splurge on or skip?
There are so many decisions to make when one is planning a wedding. The most important decision for us was the date of our wedding and the band. my husband and I are huge College football fans and we wanted to have our wedding on a weekend that did not interfere with football. Additionally, we enjoy Breaking it down on the dance floor. We found the perfect band named the big blast and the party masters. Obviously I am biased, but one of the best wedding bands I have ever seen.
What were your favorite parts of the day? (memories and stories)
I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the entire wedding weekend. One of my favorite parts of my wedding day was the first look between the bride and the groom. I was very anxious nervous excited and there was so much anticipation building up to the wedding day- it was just a special moment between the two of us and we were able to see each other for the first time and laugh and be ourselves. I also loved the sweet moments that I had with my dad before walking down the aisle.
What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?
My mother, Laura Wickham. The wedding would not have been possible without her. I am so grateful for my mother’s love support and great style.
What an elegant evening of celebration for this couple. Impeccable details, and timeless winter style was the perfect compliment to the exposed brick and wood accents in this industrial event space.
