A winter wedding with an elegant color palette of white, cream, and green created a beautifully subtle holiday inspired design. Despite their love for the holidays and choosing a winter wedding date, this couple wanted to make sure they didn’t focus their wedding style on Christmas-inspired details, but we love that it was the perfect mix of class and elegance with the tiniest hints of holiday cheer.

Ben and Mary Bailey’s wedding day was full of perfect moments and sentimental details that we are just smitten over. These high school sweethearts who had known each other since they were toddlers wed in the same church where they first met, and we love that Mary Bailey’s gown was the perfect match to her mother’s veil that her mother wore on her own wedding day.

This couple shared a beautiful evening of fun and joyful celebration, and we are thrilled to share their favorite details from the day along with the gorgeous images captured by Eliza Morrill Photography.

Tell us a little a bit about your wedding (your vision, color, style, and location choices).

We wanted all neutrals— lots of creams and white and gold. We envisioned a Winter Wonderland/ holiday wedding. As much as I love and enjoy Christmas, I wanted to avoid the Christmas theme. Our wedding was located in Columbus Georgia where we met and grew up together. Our venue was the RiverMill event center.

What was the most important to the two of you while planning? Was there anything that you chose to splurge on or skip?

There are so many decisions to make when one is planning a wedding. The most important decision for us was the date of our wedding and the band. my husband and I are huge College football fans and we wanted to have our wedding on a weekend that did not interfere with football. Additionally, we enjoy Breaking it down on the dance floor. We found the perfect band named the big blast and the party masters. Obviously I am biased, but one of the best wedding bands I have ever seen.

What were your favorite parts of the day? (memories and stories)

I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the entire wedding weekend. One of my favorite parts of my wedding day was the first look between the bride and the groom. I was very anxious nervous excited and there was so much anticipation building up to the wedding day- it was just a special moment between the two of us and we were able to see each other for the first time and laugh and be ourselves. I also loved the sweet moments that I had with my dad before walking down the aisle.

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

My mother, Laura Wickham. The wedding would not have been possible without her. I am so grateful for my mother’s love support and great style.

What an elegant evening of celebration for this couple. Impeccable details, and timeless winter style was the perfect compliment to the exposed brick and wood accents in this industrial event space.

The holiday season is my absolutely favorite time of the year, because not only is it a time for celebration of the holidays, it’s also the most popular time for engagements! My husband proposed to me during the holidays- December 23rd to be exact- and so I guess you could say that holiday proposals have always had a special place in my heart. So in honor of my own Christmas engagement 10 years ago (OMG, what?!), I’ve teamed up with Macy’s, using one of their Star Signature Diamond engagement rings to create a few proposal ideas for those of you who are planning on proposing for Christmas!

Christmas Tree Ornament

This can take place at either a Christmas tree farm (as seen here), or on your own Christmas tree! You can hang the ring on your tree with a ribbon, and add an optional ornament that says “Marry Me?”. Perfect for the Christmas tree loving couple!

Stocking On Christmas Morning

There’s nothing better than finding something fun inside your stocking on Christmas morning, and I know a box with a gorgeous ring inside would be just about every gal’s dream! Make sure you’re ready on bended knee once she realizes what is inside!

Nested Gift Boxes

This one might be my favorite! Use gift boxes of various sizes, going from larger to smaller, with the ring box as the very last box! You can go as large as you want- my husband actually went SUPER big and had my ring box inside of a patio furniture box (yes, I wanted patio furniture, but a ring was way better)!

The ring that is showcased in all of the ideas is a stunning round solitaire of Macy’s Star Signature Diamond. A diamond of exceptional brilliance and beauty, it’s a diamond that has been developed exclusively for Macy’s. Each Macy’s Star Signature diamond is masterfully cut with 73-facets (traditional number of facets is 58) to maximize its inner light and sparkle. And staying true to it’s name, you can see an 8-point star in the round and princess shaped Macy’s Star Signature cuts. And now for the “stats”: This diamond is near colorless (minimum 1 color), has received a Very Good cut grade, has a Minimum I1 clarity, and is Conflict-Free.

All of the designs featuring Macy’s Star Signature Diamond are absolutely stunning! A few of our favorites…

Kristin and Ryan’s North Carolina wedding in historic downtown Wilmington featured Christmas-inspired details like subtle pops of red and evergreen details, bringing a little holiday cheer to their wedding day design.

We love that they created a simple rustic style with beautiful details, and added in pops of wintery decor to tie into a more classic style. One of our favorite details included the hand-crocheted snowflakes, made by the bride’s mother, that served as escort cards for guests. What a sweet, personalized token for guests to be able to take with them that also highlighted their holiday celebration.

We also love their tabletop style. With a mix of round and feasting tables, we love that they added a little variety with their centerpieces. From lanterns and evergreen runners, to candles and blooms, the decor created a beautiful balance in their space, and natural woven chargers added a fun texture to each place setting.

With a neutral color palette of grays and greens, a bright pop of red in the flowers and berries added a lovely accent to the wedding day design. We hope you enjoy the beautiful details from Kristin and Ryan’s wedding that were perfectly captured by KMI Photography.

Such a beautiful style with the perfect amount of punch packed in the pops of holiday cheer that they sprinkled into their design.

What do you think? Would you add in some holiday inspiration into your wedding day style?

Dove gray details and a shimmering rose gold shine gave a modern and glamorous twist for our 2 Turtle Doves theme in our 12 Days of Christmas Tabletops series captured by Jenna Nicole Photography. A sparkling sequined linen from Nuage Designs, Inc. glittered white in one direction and gold in another, which created the perfect foundation for this tabletop style. A simple and modern setting with gray “bow” napkins layered on gray stoneware and clear glass plates gave a peek at the modern rose gold wire chargers that added a pretty pop to the table. A pair of bird figurines added one more simple touch that brought this Turtle Dove theme to life.

We love hearing more about the design decisions when creating wedding styles, so make sure you catch the vision behind this look created by Ashton Events and Treasury Rentals.

Laura from Ashton Events:

“Finding inspiration in the color gray, as in ‘dove’ gray, provided us with such great flexibility with our design for this theme. We chose to create with a mix of metallics to add shimmer and shine to a relatively monochromatic style. Designing with modern rose gold pieces allowed us to style a glamorous table for our Turtle Dove theme. A pair of small bird figurines, a mix of taper and pillar candles, and fluffy white peonies and roses in rose gold mercury glass vases added a simple and elegant centerpiece style to our design.”

Emily from Treasury Rentals:

“We love the feminine glam details for this tabletop style that felt like just the perfect balance of delicate details with sparkle and shine. Adding in touches of rose gold allowed us to incorporate a modern twist with or Wren Chargers and Rose Gold Moon Flatware. We wanted to keep the dishware relatively minimal as to not compete with the fun sequined linen and details from the charger plate. A simple duo of glassware, and an overside bow napkin made for a beautiful style for this Christmas theme.”

We love how neutral, almost monochromatic style of the white and metallic tones for this set-up, and the modern and glam feeling it created. We also love those incredible oversized balloon ornaments that would be a fun decor pairing for this Christmas style.

Make sure you catch all of the other looks in this series as we celebrate the countdown to Christmas Day!
