Inspiration Board: Whimsical Glamour

I’ve already been putting the {ELD} Wedding Style Dictionary to the test quite a bit! I definitely found it useful when creating this inspiration board. I met with a bride last week who is having an outdoor wedding on a farm, but she wants it to be more glamourous than country. The colors that she wants to focus on are eggplant and red, which are both two very bold colors. I spent a little while looking through photos, and after a few glances at the Style Dictionary, I came up with Whimsical Glamour. Each color is glamourous on its own, and when paired together, elements of whimsy are bound to occur!

Row 1: Centerpiece, Invitation, Tablescape, Bouquet

Row 2: Tent, Bouquets

Row 3: Bride and Groom Shoes, Vases, Chandelier

Red and eggplant are a pretty unexpected combination, but I think it will make for an incredibly fun and gorgeous wedding!

This engagement shoot from Leigh Taylor may be THE coolest engagement session I’ve seen. Leigh actually styled this whole shoot, which is such a fun idea! Themed engagement shoots are the absolute best, and they’re becoming so popular!

I know I would have definitely wanted a styled shoot like this…my engagement photos were pretty blah. Ask your photographer if they would like to do a styled shoot for you, or even if they’ll just help you along with a theme of some sort. That is, if you don’t already have a theme in mind!

This week was kind of a post-laden week, mainly because I had a lot of information that I wanted to share, yet I still wanted to provide all of the inspirational photo gorgeousness that you all expect. And now, I’m not planning on making 2 posts a day a habit, unless you all ask me to! I know personally I’m not much of a fan of several posts a day, because it’s more that I have to catch up on. Which then kind of defeats the purpose of having the Week At A Glance, because I’m trying to make reading {ELD} nice and efficient for you all! :)

Resource To Love: My Wedding Concierge :: An awesome new wedding blog search engine has launched as part of My Wedding Concierge. SO so amazing! Plus they have a great iPhone app too…

Preppy Navy and Yellow Inspiration Board :: This is the first ever preppy inspiration board that I’ve done. I do believe that “preppy” is more evident in patterns used and how things are presented, and not just the colors. So don’t fret! This color combination can be amazing without the “preppy” connotation.

Fresh, Eclectic Rhode Island Wedding by Kristin Spencer :: Yes, I am from the South, and had no idea that Rhode Island was this beautiful. I apologize. But seriously…this wedding is pretty awesome!

Tina of Tina Bass Photography submitted this engagement session and I immediately thought that it was purely amazing. And then I got really excited when I discovered that Tina is a photographer in Tampa, because I love finding awesome local photographers!

This engagement session just has such a natural feel to it. It could be the couple’s comfort in front of the camera, the beautiful sunset light, or the water, but either way, it’s beautiful!

And of course I’m ALWAYS a sucker for dogs in any photo! I think I might have to include my dog in my next photo shoot! Thank you Tina for sharing this engagement session!
