Inspired by wispy clouds in a clear, blue sky, this modern, elegant blue and gray wedding design is utterly gorgeous. With a palette of crisp blues and grays, warmed by soft pinks, neutrals and hints of copper and gold, a modern, minimalist look was created, while still evoking a sense of inviting elegance. Beautiful low-key blooms and a hand-painted backdrop created a stunning setting for the design, and the bride’s romantic, flowing gown was the perfect complement to this look. Wanting their family and friends to feel as if they were at a garden party at their own home, Casa Feliz was the perfect location choice for Danielle and Sami’s Winter Park wedding. A garden-inspired design, full of lush greenery, white florals, and gold accents, created a beautiful look for their outdoor fete. Decor aside, if there is one thing that could desribe Danielle and Sami’s day, it would be happiness. Their joy and love for one another was captured so beautifully by KMD Creations– we cannot wait for you to see all of the gorgeous details and to read all about the day from Danielle’s perspective!

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

Definitely the groom, he was a huge help in the planning process and during the day of our wedding took on most of the burden so I could relax and have a wonderful day. (Yes I know I am incredibly lucky)

What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?

Reviews and Responsiveness, I selected vendors by their reviews and ultimately decided on which vendors by how responsive they were to my questions. Nothing worse than feeling like you’re inconveniencing a vendor you are planning to pay hundreds of dollars to.

What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?

Intimate garden party, I wanted people to feel like they were being welcomed into our home.

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

The groom’s reactions during the wedding were the best but as for the reception my favorite part was my dad’s speech.

What is your best piece of advice for other couples?

Go with your gut instinct, don’t fight over every detail and decision. No one will criticize your choice of silverware or glasses so go with what you like the best, it’s your day after all and who cares if they don’t like it!

The romance of this spring inspired wedding design is filled with so much beauty. Captured by one of our favorite Chicago photographers, Nicole Jansma Photography, every detail is just as inspiring as it is gorgeous. Members of the vendor team shared their insights behind their own pieces of the design perfectly, so we thought we would share their own words describing this look:

From the Planner, Sarah Rhodes-Boyce: For this shoot, spring was on the mind. I envisioned a beautiful young woman riding her bike with a rattan basket up front filled with fresh spring blooms tied in a sweet sky-blue gingham ribbon. From there a color palette was born: light gray, soft blues and pinks, crisp linen-y whites and pure green. I wanted the shoot to be simple, sweet and young, surrounded by lush florals and old architecture. Despite the fact that it was an overcast, chilly Chicago winter day, The Armour House provided us with the most beautiful backdrop for the shoot and made us feel like we had been transported to an early, crisp Paris spring!

From the Florist, Jackson Floral Design: Fresh, just picked from the garden, spring florals in classic white and a touch of blush set the tone for the bridal bouquet and table arrangement. My vision was to add romance to the look with a full, organic styled bouquet and a statement centerpiece filled with big blooms and lush greenery. My favorite touch as a designer is to add long, trailing ribbons to the bouquet. They add a soft, ethereal element that I just can’t get enough of!

From the Photographer, Nicole Jansma Photography: Sometimes I feel like I get the easy part of the gig :) If you surround yourself by talented vendors who hand you something gorgeous to photograph, in the most dreamy of settings, you really don’t have to work too hard to make magic happen! For this shoot, I wanted to show off the incredible architecture of The Armour House and the lovely, springy florals. My style of shooting is very soft, quiet, and organic, so it was fun to blend that with something more bold and symmetrical like the backdrops we were given at this venue.
