From Evie of Sapphire Events:

When approached to do a shoot at The Chicory, I was initially inspired to design a natural aesthetic inside the venue that would be surrounded by the brick and wood décor of the building. After walking outside along Fulton Street and seeing the brick and cobblestone paths surrounded by the buildings and views of downtown New Orleans, I became truly inspired to create a natural garden feel amidst the rigid structures, giving a typical (indoor) floral design for a wedding a new and different outdoor location.

Standing in the middle of Fulton Street, facing the alleyway towards Harrah’s Casino, I could see the perfect backdrop for such a unique and contrasting shoot. There are minimal trees and natural items placed along the walkway, which would be sure to make any floral or earthy décor we brought in stand out. This location allows for the local bride or destination bride (anyone who loves this city) to enjoy a personal and authentically New Orleans backdrop while still allowing a feminine touch through her table décor.

Having the natural brick color, dark wrought iron porches, grey cobblestone, and blue sky as our setting, the décor brought in – in hues of pink, red, orange, and green – created a bright and vibrant feel. Bee’s Wedding and Event Floral Design used their amazing skills to create full, round centerpieces atop exquisite, old farm tables from Mrs. Vintage Rentals, allowing the colors to really pop on top of the dark wood. Luminous Events added to the garden feel with their willow branch archway and wrought iron candle trees. They were the perfect mixture of man-made creation and earthy design.

As the sun set on Fulton Street, the candlelight’s glow beautifully lit the scene amongst the downtown buildings’ lights, creating the perfect setting for the cake – designed with berries, fruits, and flowers on each tier – and completing the look of nature in the heart of the city.

Aren’t the colors absolutely beautiful! I love the way they make the whole area just *pop*!

Will you be using bright colors for your own wedding, or are you going with more muted tones? I’d love to hear what you’re planning!

I love the different textures and laces in the individual bridesmaid dresses. I think the look is stunning on these ladies and actually serves as a neutral palette to let those gorgeous blooms shine.

What do y’all think? Different dresses for your maids or all one gown? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Happy Planning!
Carlee
