From Sara of Scarlet Plan & Design:

Scarlet Plan & Design has long been a supporter of love in all its many forms and for us, we don’t care how you love, all we care about is that you love. That being said, our stunning shoot features not one but two blushing brides. I was inspired by one of my all time favorite movies, Steel Magnolias (hence the name Blush and Bashful after Shelby’s wedding colors) filled with strong, beautiful women that loved each other without condition or expectation. We wanted to keep our vibe soft, sweet and super feminine. I loved tying a pale blush pink, a darker smokier pink, deep dark hunter green and gold together to make up our lovely color palette. We worked with natural magnolia leaves to further pull in the “Steel Magnolias” vibe and had the florist make a garland with them, add them to the bouquets and centerpieces. We gave the brides 2 looks to offer inspiration on how to blend two very feminine personalities easily and cohesively. That’s where the sweet jumpsuit came into play! But I think the second looks were probably my personal favorites!

How fabulous is this inspiration? The jumpsuit is awesome, don’t you think? I love seeing alternatives to the typical wedding dress! Isn’t this take on “blush and bashful” just amazing?

Your wedding photos are one of the most important parts of your wedding day- in addition to of course actually getting married! These images are going to be hung on your wall for years to come- probably for the rest of your life. They will be viewed by your kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids… and in essence, they become a legacy!

So my guess is that you want to look your best for your wedding photos, right? A huge part of that involves your smile, but with all of the other beauty prep you go through prior to your wedding day, your smile can be something that sometimes can be forgotten. Well friends, don’t you worry, because I’ve partnered with my friends at Crest 3D White to show you exactly how you can make your smile beautiful and ready to shine on your wedding day! Because after all- you want your photographer to capture your love and happiness on your wedding day, and that without a doubt includes your beautiful smile!

So with all of this said, let’s talk about whitening your teeth for your wedding day! If you’re anything like me, you want to know as much information about something as you possibly can before doing it. So I’ve put together a simple, step-by-step guide for you on how to use Crest 3D White Whitestrips!

How To Whiten Your Teeth For Your Wedding Day | Brought To You By Crest 3D White via TheELD.com

1) Purchase the Crest 3D White Whitestrips you want. There are a few different options you can choose from:

Crest 3D White Supreme FlexFit Whitestrips– The exclusive FlexFit technology design stretches and molds to custom fit your smile, whitening teeth like $500 Professional Treatment.* Use for 1 hour daily for 14 days.

Crest 3D White Professional Effects Whitestrips– With strong grip, no slip technology these Whitestrips remove 14 years of stains. Use for 30 minutes daily for 20 days.

Crest 3D White Glamorous White Whitestrips– The strong grip, no slip technology allows you to talk and even drink water while whitening your teeth. Use them daily for 30 minutes for 14 days to elevate your smile to the next level.

Crest 3D White Vivid Whitestrips– These strips use the enamel-safe ingredient found in all Whitestrips to give you visibly whiter teeth with noticeable results in just 12 days. Use for 30 minutes for 12 days.

Crest 3D White 1 Hour Express Whitestrips– Enamel safe, 1 Hour Express Whitestrips will reveal same-day results for a brighter, whiter smile that shows. Use full kit for full results.

Crest 3D White Gentle Routine Whitestrips– Gently remove years of stains for teeth that are sensitive to whitening.

I chose to go with the “Glamorous White” Whitestrips because they have a good grip and won’t slip… and because Glamorous sounded awesome too. :)

2) Open up the package and read the instructions. It’s really quite a simple process, but instructions are always helpful to have!

3) Open a package of strips (1 upper, 1 lower). Peel Crest 3D White Whitestrips from the backing liner.
[Note: It is best to not brush your teeth immediately before applying the strips!]

4) Apply the lower strip first. While looking in the mirror, apply the gel side of the strip on the front of your lower teeth. Align the straight edge of the strip with your gum line. Press gently onto the front side of the strip for 2-3 seconds. Fold the strip over your teeth. Press gently onto back side of your teeth for 2-3 seconds.

[Editor’s note: Get ready for some funny looking faces y’all! This process is super easy, but it’s hard to not look funny while doing it!]

5) Repeat the process above for the top strip!

6) Wear the strips for the recommended time frame included with your Whitestrips (anywhere from 5 minutes to 1 hour, depending on which you are using)- in fact, I wrote this post with my Whitestrips on! Once your time frame is done, remove the strips and discard!

How To Whiten Your Teeth For Your Wedding Day | Brought To You By Crest 3D White via TheELD.com

7) So simple! Just use the full number of treatments in the kit and do one treatment per day until all of the Whitestrips are gone!

PS: If you’re in a hurry, you can use the Crest 3D White 1 Hour Express Whitestrips to remove years of stains in just 1 hour!

8) Oh, and it doesn’t hurt to also use a Crest 3D White toothpaste after your Whitestrips treatments. I’ve been using the Crest 3D White Radiant Mint whitening toothpaste, and I love it! Did I mention that I’m really picky about my toothpaste?

Now I know what you’re thinking… how exactly do these things work? Crest 3D White Whitestrips are thin, flexible strips that are coated with a peroxide-infused gel uniquely designed to conform to the shape of your teeth. The product works by keeping the whitening gel on your teeth to get at stain build-up below the enamel surface to visibly whiten your teeth.

There are certainly other options out there when it comes to whitening your teeth, including going to a dentist. I myself have actually experienced the use of whitening trays from a dentist (thanks to the fact that my dad is a dentist) and these Crest 3D White Whitestrips are so much easier! It’s easy to talk and continue to go about your day normally (sans eating anything of course), which is incredibly important for me as a business owner, but also for you as a busy bride!

So friends, don’t forget about what will be one of the most important things when it comes to your wedding photos- your smile! Make sure your smile is the whitest and brightest it can be by using Crest 3D White!

I’d love to hear from you all- have any of you considered whitening your teeth for your wedding day? I know it was definitely something that I did for my own day!

When you have an elegant garden wedding that takes place under a 100 year old oak tree, you just know it’s going to be stunning! Taking place at Villa Woodbine, Lauren and Jorge’s beautiful and romantic wedding ceremony was held at sunset, making for some truly stunning images captured by Carolina Guzik Photography. Lauren is here with us today, sharing insight into her wedding day and her planning process…

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

I used Pinterest and The Knot wedding planner application on my phone the most to help my plan my wedding day. I got the majority of my decorating ideas off of my Pinterest wedding board and my best friends helped me make those ideas come to life. For example, we decorated the hangers for the wedding party dresses and even assembled my favors, which were honey jars filled with local honey ourselves. I bought a wedding planner book but barely used it, I found the Knot app very helpful in keeping myself on track time wise.

What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?

I used different wedding websites to look at vendors in Miami, where I was planning my wedding, to make sure they had great reviews. Because I live a few hours away from the wedding site, I wanted to make sure the vendors were easily accessible by phone and media. It was very important to me that when I sent an email or left a message inquiring about their services that they responded to me quickly. I wanted people that were easy to work with and possessed excellent communication skills. Luckily, I found exactly that and I have to say I really enjoyed working with all of my wedding vendors.

What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?

My style is feminine, classic and simple. I found most of my inspirations from wedding magazines, blogs and Pinterest. I seemed drawn toward pinks, peaches and ivories when choosing colors. I also loved the look of the country chic outdoor weddings with flowers that looked like they were grown in a garden.

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

My wedding day was the best day of my life. The day as a whole was just amazing. I love the photos, the decorations, and all of the amazing people I met along the way. My favorite thing would be the pure happiness I felt that day, I had such a fun wedding, without a worry in the world, and I feel like that attitude reflected upon the guests and everyone had a great time. I am so thankful I can look back on the photos and just smile and laugh and remember what an awesome, perfect day it was.

What is your best piece of advice for other brides

Because I am so busy in my career, I didn’t have much time to worry or over think things I wanted for my wedding day. I went with my gut and trusted the people I was working with, the professionals, to make a lot of the judgement calls for me. I think that really helped me have such a fun time planning my wedding. My advice for other brides is to enjoy your wedding day and have faith in the ones who do this a for a living.

Oh wow, Lauren’s advice is spot-on! And how lovely is this location? So dreamy and romantic- absolutely perfect for the classic, elegant style wedding that Lauren and Jorge were going for!

The charming town of Franklin was the perfect location for Jessica and Eric’s Tennessee wedding. In addition to incorporating their love of their pup, Sarge, into their wedding and it’s details, their beautiful wedding was adorned with luscious floral arrangements and intimate candlelit lanterns, and it was all captured beautifully by Jen and Chris Creed!

Who (or what) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

Our wedding planner was the BIGGEST help in terms of the entire wedding planning process {because they are pros and that is what they are hired to do}. Our wedding was unique because being a destination wedding she was our lifeline to connect us to vendors, and aid in planning every last detail ;)  Besides the wedding planner, I have two very dear friends that live almost a thousand miles away, but these gals have already been through the wedding process themselves and they were always there for us. Whether it was helping make decisions, helping put together favor bags, or knowing that they would ALWAYS give us their honest opinion, they are friends that never hesitated jump in and help.

What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?

A wedding planner/venue who understood, and who was willing to work with, our budget. Our wedding planner from the start asked our budget and how we envisioned our day, and she was honest about how we could make our budget work and not allow things to get out of control. My husband and I paid for the vast majority of our wedding, and we weren’t willing to go into debt for one day, but we also had a vision that we wanted for our wedding day. So after researching, we found a wedding planner/venue who was willing to work with our budget AND design style. Also, my husband and I work very busy schedules and I knew that we couldn’t do it without a planner. We were upfront and told her our needs, such as needing something to essentially handle all the little details, someone we could trust in making these decisions from a distance, and someone who had a strong enough personality to manage all the logistical details such as orchestrating times and everyone’s schedule for the entire day.

What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?

My husband and I both grew up in more of the country setting in Indiana, and being that we now live in NYC, we wanted to be married “back in the country” since it holds such a special place in our hearts. Also, we wanted a destination wedding, to keep size and budget down, but most destination weddings are on a beach, which is not our style. I had always dreamed of a rustic, elegant wedding with chandeliers. I wanted it to look like an effortless, elegance. Through Pinterest and Etsy I found a wealth of design ideas which helped me communicate and narrow down our vision and what we liked.

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

Do I have to pick just ONE?!? I never thought I would be one to say this, but it was honestly the BEST day ever! The moment of getting ready with my sisters, to the “first look” with my groom and the sense of peace that came over me after I finally got to see him was indescribable. The entire atmosphere was pure bliss. Our dog, Sergeant, is the center of our world, and he was a great hit with everyone and made for great conversation between guests who didn’t know each other (the open bar also helped hehe). We had the most romantic ceremony with a string quartet playing during the ceremony at dusk, followed by the most beautiful (and delicious) cocktail hour and dinner, and the night ended with the biggest dance party! I loved how much FUN we had with all our guests. Those are memories we will always hold close to our hearts.

What is your best piece of advice for other brides?

I could sound cliche and just tell other brides to remember to relax and enjoy the day because it goes by so fast; all that is very true and definitely important remember, but here are a few practical tips that I would pass on. First, a wedding planner was the best investment we could have made. I tell all my friends, that if you can’t afford a wedding planner or think you don’t want one to “save money,” reconsider. See if you can cut back in a different area of the budget. A wedding planner will save your sanity, and they might actually save you money in the long-run because this is their profession and they can help you navigate vendors and contracts. Not to mention handling all the details from colors to fonts to putting in a lot of hours of legwork.

Second, pick a budget together and really stick to it. Going into debt for just one day isn’t worth it.

Third, if you are going to splurge on any part of your wedding, splurge on photography. Our photographers were absolutely fantastic, and we are now friends with them. You want a professional photographer, not a friend who does photography for a hobby. Our photos are what we have to help us remember and relive that day, what we will pass on to future generations, and what everyone who asks to see pics of the wedding will see. You want to be proud of them. Think about unique things you need your photographers to be talented with, and ask if they have experience in that area. For example, we wanted “natural,” not posed photos, and we needed someone who could work with dogs, and wide age range of people 7 yrs old to 90 yrs old, etc.

Jessica’s advice is amazing! I personally love how they incorporated their adorable pup into their wedding with not only photos, but details too!

Are any of you thinking of incorporating your pet into any of your wedding details?
