Editor’s Note: Happy Friday everyone! I am SO excited to introduce you to ELD’s newest contributor, Joelle! Joelle is the owner of A Charming Occasion based in California, and she’ll be gracing the pages of ELD once a week along with Brit and Kristine! Be sure to give her a warm welcome on her very first (and gorgeous I might add) post! :)
From the moment I saw the matching Converse shoes that the bride and groom wore for this pretty beach wedding, I was sold! They flew all the way from Germany to get married on a beach in Florida, and I can’t imagine that their day could have been any more perfect. Everything was just beautiful, from the weather to the reception, the photography by Reign 7 Photography, and the bride too of course!
What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?
Definitely our wedding planner AJ Latteri and her whole team of AJ’s Island Network at The Loft 5, Anna Maria Island, FL. She has amazing ideas, a great eye for detail and an incredible network.
What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?
With our wedding being a destination wedding, we totally relied on Internet and email. With a view of our wedding style in mind we pretty much narrowed it down to a few vendor options and finally chose the ones that we felt suited our style best. I instantly liked Reign7 Studio’s blog and wanted Toni & Lesley to do our pictures right from the beginning of our search. I am glad it worked out, we had lots of fun working with them and they did an amazing job! About the same with AJ, our wedding planner, whose vendors references on catering and flowers completed our vendor list.
What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?
I used a raspberry colored ribbon and matching paper lanterns that I found a few months before the wedding as colour sample for the wedding decoration. To visualize the theme I collected pictures on the internet and finally put them together in a mood-board using addicting Pinterest and the knot.com.
What was your favorite thing about your wedding?
The location! Anna Maria Island, FL is a perfect place for a wedding. Our ceremony was right on the white sandy gulf beaches just steps away from the beach villa where we had our outdoor reception.
For our “first look” we chose the historic Anna Maria City Pier. Look out for our personalized pier plank, when you visit the island ;)
What is your best piece of advice for other brides?
Consider a (rather intimate) destination wedding. The pros far outweighed the cons for us .
I am seriously considering getting married all over again so that I can a gorgeous destination wedding like this one. And isn’t that last picture just incredible?! What an amazing, beautiful day!
Vendors who made it all happen…

Wow! What a beautiful wedding! I love the ceremony backdrop, so unique!
This is such an amazing and refreshing wedding. It’s just fresh and different. Gorgeous photography, too :)
These are the kind of weddings I like to go to, Classy weddings that aren’t afraid to have fun!
I’m absolutely in love with the simple and modern decorations of this ceremony. I too am having a destination beach wedding this spring and this wedding has inspired me. I’m desperately searching for the large driftwood pieces you have, but have been unsuccessful finding any. May I ask where you found them? Thank you!
I’m happy you like our decorations! AJ Latteri of the Loft 5 – our wedding planner (see above for contact) – found the driftwood pieces for us and arranged the ceremony backdrop.
