Why do you see yourself as being Modern, Vintage, Classic, or Eclectic?
The Rhiannon Bosse brand stands for classic celebrations with a healthy dose of personality infused throughout. We strive to plan and design events that truly represent our couples and their unique stories, but we also want all the events we have a hand in, to look really beautiful and special in 5, 10 or even 20 years. A classic event never goes out of style and always feels approachable so for us, that's where our heart is and what we try to conceptualize.
What is your favorite wedding detail you've ever seen or created?
My favorite detail we've ever executed was a floral installation in September of 2015. It was a massive floral piece built onsite along a very large branch of an even larger catalpa tree in Michigan. The bride envisioned a floral fairytale at her wedding, so I proposed using the already incredible tree as a focal point to her 'chapel under the sky' ceremony setting. We used close to a thousand stems of blooms on the tree installation (which took 5 hours) and ended up with something pretty magical. Even more exciting was being up on the scaffolding at 7 months pregnant doing what I love most!
What is your favorite store or brand?
Anthropologie for their thought out and clever installations that ooze creativity and inspiration. Restoration Hardware for their timeless design that perfectly pushes the envelope just a little. And J. Crew for classic clothing that helps a working mama on the go feel and look good!
What advice do you have for a newly engaged couple?
If you can hold off on the planning process, my advice to any newly engaged person is to simply enjoy being engaged! There's so much pressure these days to dive into planning and get everything nailed down as quickly as possible, and all of that pressure results in such unnecessary stress before the planning has even begun. Take a small trip to celebrate your engagement! Take a lot of photos of your ring or any other symbol given in exchange for this exciting commitment. Have casual discussions about dates, location, and budget. Use that time to really be intentional in your planning efforts and then, when you really feel ready, start the planning process (preferably with searching for that perfect wedding planner!).
What is your favorite thing about weddings?
There are so many things about a wedding that bring me such joy. From seeing an empty venue come to life in such a short amount of time, handing the beautiful bride her bouquet as she gets her hair and make up done and seeing her light up with excitement, seeing a couple soak up one another for the first time, watching guests enjoy the sensory experience at each wedding; thanking the hard working vendors for all of their commitment and hard work at the end of the night; weddings are the epitome of dedication, hard work, emotion and excitement. Each event is always so different but the common themes remain the same and that's a really cool thing to experience over and over again.
What qualities do you possess that enable you to work well with brides and grooms?
Since we offer so many services under one roof to each of our clients, we're able to serve them in many different capacities. As experienced planners who manage many tasks on any given day, we are able to keep our clients organized and on top of their tasks so they can stay stress-free throughout the planning process. Our strategies for simplifying the planning process allow everyone to work well together as plans come to life. As designers and florists, we are able to bring our clients visions to life, and in a way that doesn't look like something pulled off of Pinterest but instead that feels personalized and unique to the couple. We get to know our clients well and listen to every part of their stories, desires, likes, and wants so we can create an aesthetic that's intentional. And as the team that executes each event, we're able to bridge together the planning part with the design part and really create magic. There is something special in offering both sides of the planning spectrum to our clients and we're proud to be able to do that extremely well.
What steps do you take to ensure that your clients will have amazing wedding days when working with you?
We offer a boutique planning approach to our clients which means only 4 to 5 weddings end up on our calendar each year. We do this for a number of reasons. Since we offer full service planning, design, floral services, and execution all under one roof, it's important we don't overextend ourselves and our services to the clients we take on at the risk of not being able to deliver on our promises. With that being said, we really care about our couples, their families, the experience they have not only on the wedding day itself but also in the time leading up to the wedding when the hard work is done. We value their time, investment, and feelings, and try to make that evident in every correspondence and decision we make. Our specialty is serving extremely well and bringing a wealth of experience, design excellence, and top notch interpersonal skills to every contract and client we get the pleasure of working with.
