If you’ve never been to Savannah, Georgia, my-oh-my you are missing out! It’s overflowing with beautiful southern charm and is an excellent destination for a wedding if you don’t want to go the usual tropical route. Well, if you’re getting married in Savannah, allow me to introduce you to our Vendor of the Week, Simply Savannah Events– a wedding planner based in the lovely southern city, with a focus on “eco-chic” weddings! Let’s get to know a little bit more about Simply Savannah Events, shall we?
Why do you see yourself as being Modern, Vintage, Classic, or Eclectic?
Simply Savannah Events is definitely more vintage and eclectic. We cater to couples who want a unique wedding. No “cookie cutter” weddings here! We take a customized approach to all intimate events while staying economically comfortable for you. We are fresh, natural, eco-friendly, with a contemporary flair, and vintage twist.
What is your favorite wedding detail you’ve ever seen or created?
I love to reuse, recycle, and repurpose items, so when a client is Eco-friendly too we can come up with beautiful crafty ideas that create less waste. For instance creating guest favors out of recycled tin cans and wrapping them with extra invitations then filling them with ivy plants, or recycling glass jars and filling them with water and floating candles, or using old Scrabble pieces from your childhood game (did you know you can also buy replacement letters instead of buying the whole game?). There are many DIY ideas out there, you just have to figure out which is best for you and your style.
What is your favorite store or brand?
Etsy all the way! I love my Etsy vendors and also love to support artists who make their products by hand. There are so many talented vendors on Etsy.com from all over the globe that can make you something personalized and perfect for your wedding.
What advice do you have for a newly engaged bride?
My advice for people starting to plan their wedding is to be flexible. It helps to have an idea of what you want for your event, but being too stringent may leave you stressed out, so be open to modifying some details. Planning can be stressful, but at the end of the aisle and wedding day, it’s ultimately about the love you share for one another.
What is your favorite thing about weddings?
My favorite part of the planning is seeing the end result. After months of developing an idea and creating what the client envisions, then seeing everything come together is exhilarating and satisfying. I still get teary looking at photos or watching videos of weddings – I’m such a hopeless romantic.
What qualities do you possess that enable you to work well with brides and grooms?
I’m calm and have a kind demeanor since everyone may be stressed on the wedding day it doesn’t help to add to their stress levels.
What steps do you take to ensure that your clients will have amazing wedding days when working with you?
I listen to what my clients want for their vision and help offer ideas and suggestions. Communicate and promptly reply back to clients.
And now I’m day dreaming about a little getaway to Savannah! Be sure to check out Simply Savannah Events‘ ELV listing to see more of their work, and if you’re a Georgia bride, definitely be sure to contact them!
