The weather may be getting cooler but we are feeling that fun summer warmth with Monica and Tom’s beach wedding captured by Hunter Ryan Photo! With a vibrant color palette and Lilly Pulitzer vibes, Carrie Darling Events planned this Marco Island wedding that is all the beach wedding inspo you could need. The oceanside ceremony was stunning, with a custom made monogram platform for saying “I dos” and tons of pineapple details. The reception was more fun in the sun with colorful printed linens and key lime pies by Sweetified for dessert! Get your pin button ready to save all the gorgeous images!
From Carrie Darling Events:
From the beginning, Monica and Tom wanted their Wedding to feel like a Party more than a Wedding! Instead of a plated dinner, they opted for all stations with casual food like their favorite Skyline 3- Way Chili, Wood Oven Pizzas made on site, a Slider Station and Shake ’em Salads. There was no assigned seating, and guests were encouraged to sit in the lounges or stand around one of the glowing highboy tables.
In keeping with this upbeat, fun party vibe, we incorporated the Bride’s favorite designer Lily Pulitzer into all of the details! I am actually very surprised we have not received this request in years past! She wanted to include the vibrant colors and patterns, and Tom was 100% on board!
As guests arrived, we wanted them to be excited to participate so we upped-the-ante with the Shoe Valet! It was the first thing they encountered, and every single guest was excited to sit down in the Vinyl-decal enhanced Ghost chairs and kick off their shoes into one of the Lily baskets. We designed a low sign that said “Welcome to Marco Island” and also served the purpose of letting them know that there was no seating etiquette for ceremony. They could also “Brush off the Beach” with one of the pink paintbrushes!
We wanted the ceremony to feel intimate, so we designed it to be in the round, leaving space for the processional aisle and also for a view of the shoreline behind them. We did not want anything to obstruct the guest’s views, so instead of an overhead structure, we designed a round platform for them to stand on. We had Megan from Palette Studio hand paint a custom Lily -like pattern onto a canvas, that we attached to a wooden platform. The colors just POPPED on the white sand, and it was a fun way of giving them a place to stand. The detail was an incredible mix of palm fronds, oranges, and hidden design elements like a Florida Alligator. Their monogram was a central part of the piece.
To frame Monica and Tom while they were exchanging vows, we assembled a cluster of colorful decor elements on either side of the aisle. Pillars draped with colorful runners, gold Moroccan tables, lanterns, pineapples, colorful florals and tropical greens. It was an eclectic mix of color and texture, just like the beloved Lily Pulitzer prints!
When it was time for the party, guests were brought up to the outdoor Terrace to enjoy their dinner amongst the Palm Trees . We did not have assigned seating, so guests sat in a traditional table adorned with a mix of fun table top ceramic items and florals, or they mingled at one of the glowing hightop tables or lounges.
Since nothing about this Wedding was traditional, they also opted out of having a Wedding cake and wanted to have a Dessert Bar, which we dressed up into a “Dessert Cabana” in true Lily form. Sweetified provided a mix of fun pastries including pink and green key lime pies, cake pops, cupcakes, macaroons and pineapple cookies. She matched the colors in the icing to the Table linen.
The couple let us run with the design, and it was one of my favorite (and vibrant) designs to date!
