Classic southern charm was the first thing that popped into our heads when we set eyes on the beautiful South Carolina wedding day of Natalie and Brad. Despite a looming storm headed their way, with the help of their planner Meagan Warren Weddings, this couple remained calm and joyful, and celebrated in an classically elegant manner.

Holly Graciano Photography captured the joy and beauty that made their day so special. Set at The Hall at Senate’s End and with a cool color palette of soft blue and white, we love how the details of the day mirrored the elegance of their surroundings.

Enjoy the imagery along with a few words from this lovely bride!

Brad and I met when I was a sophomore in high school and he was a senior. We were friends with a lot of the same people and worked together at a family owned Greek restaurant. We worked there throughout high school and college, then started dating in college. We dated for 6 years while I was at USC/MUSC and he was at Winthrop before getting married in October! We were married at the same church that Brad’s Mom and Dad got married at over 30 years ago. We wanted an autumn wedding that was relaxed, classic, and chic. From the greenery incorporated in our flowers, to the amazing cake table to the beautiful lanterns lit around our reception, every detail was just how we imagined!

Taking place at the beautiful historic Los Poblanos Historic Inn & Organic Farm, Emily and Justin’s New Mexico wedding took place on the lush green lawn under a canopy of roses. Their day was full of soft pinks and whites, and paired with romantic details that made for a classically romantic wedding day.

We love how Maura Jane Photography captured the beauty of this couple’s day in such a lovely way. From fluffy pink and white flowers created by The Flower Company, to floral watercolor details and a perfect poolside reception, we love how Emily and Justin’s day came together in both the big moments and small details. Enjoy the behind the scenes shared by the bride as you take in every special moment of their celebration.

Tell us a little a bit about your wedding (your vision, color, style, and location choices).

I have been planning my wedding since I was a eight years old, after I was a chosen as a flower girl in a family friend’s wedding. I spent countless days watching “Who’s Wedding Is It Anyway?” and planning fake weddings with various color palettes, bridesmaid dresses, and of course, my dream gown. Not long after I met Justin, I knew that we were going to spending the rest of our lives together. Six years later he finally proposed and I got to start planning my dream wedding!I knew I wanted my theme to be very classic. I wanted to be able to look at my wedding photos on our fiftieth anniversary and fall more in love with every detail. I always pictured my bridesmaid in a pale pink that would be perfectly complimented by a beautiful bouquet of roses. I would be wearing a strapless gown that fit flawlessly as I held a bouquet of peonies. My groom would be in a classic black tux, with a bow tie of course. My guests would describe my big day as picturesque, elegant and timeless.

What were your favorite parts of the day? (memories and stories)

The most anticipated moment of the wedding day was walking down the aisle. It was a moment that I will never forget. As my dad and I walked down, I was able to see all of the wonderful people that had taken time out of their busy lives to watch us get married; to top it off Justin was waiting for me at the end of the aisle with the biggest smile I had ever seen.

Do you have any advice for couples planning their weddings now?

Wedding planning can be such a stressful experience! Here are a couple wedding planning tips I found that made it much easier: 1. Make Lists! My mom made a binder that had different tabs for each part of the wedding. It made it so much easier to have all of our things in one place. We also had a “things to do” section and a “questions” section that we could refer to as needed. 2. Meet with your wedding vendors in person (more than once!) Although your wedding is the biggest day in your life, it is important to remember that your vendors have many clients. I discovered that it was really helpful to meet with my vendors in person a couple weeks before the wedding to make sure we were still on the same page and everything was on track. Although I believe that all of my wedding vendors are superheroes, I had to remind myself that they are only human and being as helpful as possible will make your wedding run smoother!3. Don’t leave things to the last minute: My mom and I made monthly checklists that helped keep us on track. Starting 6 months before the wedding we made lists of everything that had to be done each month. It helped to keep us on track and avoid leaving to many things for the month of the wedding. 4. Remember this day will be over before you know it. Unfortunately I spent way to much time stressing over little details that were so small when I look back on it. Although its difficult, try your best to enjoy the entire process, it will be gone before you know it!5. If you are a “planner” then hire one! Even though it was stressful, I LOVED planning my wedding, but everyone isn’t like that. There are so many incredible wedding planners out there; hire one of them if you are worried the planning process will be too much!

So many great tips that are sure to make your wedding day incredibly special. Do you have someone special that you’re leaning on to help pull together the details of your wedding day?

Inspired by the natural and simple beauty of the Maine coast, Back Bay Bride created some absolutely gorgeous Maine wedding inspiration. Incorporating soft blues, the muted backgrounds of the beach, and carrying coastal textures all throughout, the design showcased the organic beauty of Maine’s surroundings in the most perfect of ways.

Mixing natural materials and textures like rattan charger plates, a macramé runner, and driftwood escort cards provided a simple organic feel. An elegant contrast was created by incorporating metallics and hand-lettered details. We absolutely love the wild and lush centerpiece created by Fiddleheads Florist, as it added another layer of organic style with greenery and white blooms in a wood trough style arrangement.

We think you’re going to love all of the cool coastal details captured by Lauren Dobish Photography… enjoy!
