The simple elegance of this southern wedding design was the perfect mix of simple, yet beautiful details that truly allowed the bride and groom to shine. The plantation style home surrounded by lush foliage and winding paths on the grounds of Wavering Place offered a beautiful setting for Meredith Jamison Photography to capture the beauty of this inspiration. The classic floral style crafted by Karin Jeffcoat from Cote Designs completed the elegant tabletop design, while the foraged foliage bouquet and backdrop added a natural organic feel that infused interest in the ceremony design. We loved the idea of having two bouquet styles that transformed the feel of the design in a subtle, yet impactful way. And from the bride’s form-fitting lace dress with sleeves from London & Lace, to the sharp navy tux from Granger Owings that the groom wore, we love how every subtle detail fit into the overall style for the day.

Amiee Wicker from Southern Way Catering created the perfect set-up for the meat and cheese station, creating an organic farm-to-table vibe, while the fresh fruit details on the cakes and dessert made by Nicole Storey from Izzabee’s added a complimentary feel that balanced with the organic freshness of the design.

Sarah and Frank shared a simple and elegant North Carolina wedding day at The Bradford. Celebrating with family and friends, we love how they honored the importance of family in some of the sweet details of their wedding day.

Vision Events was an incredible support for this bride and groom as they navigated the planning process, and they did a beautiful job helping Sarah and Frank pull together every perfect detail. They chose a navy blue and white color palette that offered a sophisticated style that was accented with vintage details, and we love how Radian Photography captured every special moment of the day.

Tell us a little a bit about your wedding (your vision, color, style, and location choices).

Frank had worked with Nicole previously and told me to reach out to her as she was now a wedding planner. I knew from the first conversation I had with Nicole that she was going to plan our wedding!! I had always envisioned a small elegant and classic wedding. When we both saw the Bradford we both LOVED it and knew we wanted to get married there!! Bailey at The Bradford was fantastic to work with! We both love the color blue so that’s what we went with. I wanted a vintage, classic and elegant wedding and we wouldn’t have changed anything about our wedding day! It was PERFECT!!

What was the most important to the two of you while planning? Was there anything that you chose to splurge on or skip?

The most important thing to us was to bring our family and friends together to celebrate the love we have for one another. Neither of us wanted to do a bouquet or garter toss. I had a vision so nothing was out of question.

Tell us about your wedding flowers.

BEAUTIFUL!! I knew they would be pretty when we had our meeting but when I saw them the day of the wedding I was blown away. Susan and her team exceeded my expectations!! All the white flowers you can think of and more were everywhere!! I wanted lots of flowers and I was not let down!! And the flower girls crowns….so cute!! We loved them so much!!

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

Nicole at Vision Events was with us for the whole wedding process. She was with us at every meeting and we talked often on the phone. If we had a question big or small she would answer it and if she didn’t know the answer would find it for me. She was a wonderful resource for picking vendors based on our discussions and budget. She kept us on track and made the planning process enjoyable and memorable. We both can’t think Nicole and her staff of Jen and Alex enough! They were wonderful and exceeded my expectations of a wedding planner!! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Do you have any advice for couples planning their weddings now?

Use all of my vendors…seriously we wouldn’t have wanted to use anyone else. We would highly recommend a wedding planner. I am a very busy manager for clinical research at Chiltern and Frank is the Head Golf Professional at UNC Finley golf course so neither of us had time to plan our wedding by ourselves. Nicole at Vision Events was AMAZING!!!

We absolutely love how this couple kept their family, and especially the groom’s daughter, involved throughout the planning of their wedding day. So many sweet memories that they will always be able to share, and we love how the details of their day came together in such a beautiful and seemingly effortless way.

Lauren and Austin celebrated their Washington wedding day in a rustic vintage style filled with personal details and decor items that were borrowed from family. They exchanged their vows and danced the night away at the bride’s parents’ home, and found several ways to create a day that was a perfect celebration of their love.

With a pink and white color palette that includes the most beautiful rose gold sparkle, we love the feminine touches that the bride worked in. You will have to catch all of the details that she shared about the incredible work that she and her family put in to transform their property into a gorgeous wedding venue for their special day. Tell us a little a bit about your wedding (your vision, color, style, and location choices).

I always knew I wanted to get married at my parents’ home. It’s a beautiful property and I really wanted to make it special and unique to me. I wanted it to be elegant, whimsical, and timeless. The decor was all our own or handmade. The week before the wedding day, my mom and I were up on 20 ft ladders suspending the wine barrel hoops from a white birch tree I had cut down a few days before.

What was the most important to the two of you while planning? Was there anything that you chose to splurge on or skip?

For me, the most important part was the details. I wanted there to be something beautiful in every corner. For Austin, it was the music. Most of our friends are musicians so we had a live band for the cocktail hour and dinner. It really set the tone of our day and made the atmosphere so special. Music is something we both love doing together so we knew we wanted that to be epic. We chose to splurge on a wedding coordinator. There were way too many details that just became too overwhelming for us so having someone to give us recommendations and offer us suggestions was well worth the money.

What were your favorite parts of the day?

Before the ceremony, my parents and I sat on their bedroom window seat that overlooked the ceremony and watched our friends mingle, take photos, and then take their seats. It was so nice to have a few quiet minutes with my parents and watch months and months of our hard work unfold. After the ceremony, Austin and I went to that same spot and had 10 minutes by ourselves. There were so many emotions we were both feeling so it was exactly what we needed. No photos, no one asking us questions, no videographer following our every move. It was just us, and it was perfect.

Did you include any family heirlooms or special traditions?

A lot of the decor we used was from my great grandparents farm in Colfax, WA just south of Spokane.

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

Definitely my parents. They worked SO hard to make this day everything I wanted it to be. They went way above and beyond for me.

Do you have any advice for couples planning their weddings now?

Don’t stress too much about the details. Things that I worked on for days, most people didn’t even know was there. I know that sounds horrible. But your guests are there because they love and support you!

Such a sweet day that took the love and hands of so many people to create their dream wedding!
