Happy Thursday everyone! Instead of the usual Thursday Tips, I decided to change things up a little bit today and share this AMAZING pink and orange wedding by AJH Photography with you. (If you’re wanting some tips & advice though, head on over to ELD Wedding 101!) I figured some of you might want a little something to wake up you the day after the 4th of July, right? ;) Well this wedding will most definitely do the trick! The bright, bold colors are perfect for the modern, eclectic, and whimsical style! Not to mention that there are some pretty fantastic details. The beautiful bride Natalie is joining us today to tell us all about her amazing wedding… so it’s time to sit back and enjoy the awesomeness!

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

The people who helped me the most in the planning process was: my mom, my mother in law, my sister, my co-workers, and my bridesmaids!  My husband helped a lot too! :)

What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?

The most important thing to me when deciding who to work with was whether or not they made me and my wedding feel special.  I chose the venue for our reception because of the personal and trustworthy feeling they made me feel.  I wanted my vendors to be as excited as I was!  I knew they would make sure everything was perfect and we would have fun while planning!

What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?

I had so much inspiration because I love so many different things!  But I definitely wanted lots of color and a playful, whimsical feeling because that is what reminds me of my relationship with my husband!  I absolutely adore retro flair, patterns, and unique touches.  Orange is my favorite color because it is cheerful and fun so I focused a lot of the theme around this as well.  I also wanted guests to feel lighthearted and have so much fun on our wedding day!  

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

Just being in one room with every single person who was important to us was an amazing feeling.  It’s something that can never be replaced!  We had a perfect, sunny day where I got to marry my best friend!  My favorite specific moment of the day was when we exited the front church doors through an aisle of so many smiling faces waving colorful ribbon wands and cheering and got into a bright yellow Volkswagen bug!  It was a moment I couldn’t have imagined being any better!

What is your best piece of advice for other brides?

My best piece of advice is to not sweat the small stuff.  Trust that all of your planning will come together just perfectly and, if it doesn’t, that’s ok!  I had a bridesmaid go into labor on the morning of the wedding day as we were all getting our hair done and a groomsmen faint in the middle of the ceremony but I wouldn’t trade it for the world!  It’s all about making memories and enjoying the entire day.  I would also say that your photographer is the most important vendor you will hire!  At the end of the day, all of your hard work and special moments are shown through the photos that you will treasure forever!

Oh my goodness… a bridesmaid going into labor and a groomsman fainting?! Natalie is right when she says not to sweat the small stuff- I may have been a little stressed out about that!
