Today’s Southwestern boho chic wedding inspiration is something a little different- it was actually designed around the vision of the bride and what she was wanting for her upcoming wedding! Photographed by AK Studio & Design and designed by Forevermore Events, this shoot not only brought the bride’s vision to life, but it’s full of gorgeous inspiration too!

From AK Studio & Design:

With a unique style and amazing ideas, this styled shoot was centered around the vision of the bride and what she was looking for in her upcoming southwest and bohemian inspired spring wedding. After she found her gorgeous vintage inspired wedding dress it gave a direction for many of the details and the overall concept of the shoot that was put together by Forevermore Events. The bride hand drew and painted the signs that were used throughout the shoot and provided the gorgeous color palette for the rest of the session.

With a warm palette of blues and browns, integrated with touches of oranges, reds, and the natural landscape, all the elements came together to create a truly unique southwest feel. Shot in Southern Utah, the location was perfect and the riverbed and its nearby surroundings gave a perfect background to bring everything together. Southern Utah is the perfect place for any southwest or bohemian loving bride with all its gorgeous red rock and natural landscape.

All of the vendors did an amazing job on this shoot and we are excited with how all the details turned from. From the southwest ribbon on the wedding cake, to the blue glass place setting with the feather and rock elements, to the gorgeous details of the paper elements. It all came together to show the brides vision and create an elegant shoot for her upcoming wedding.

I love the boho style combined with southwestern design elements! And the color palette of blues and browns with rich reds and oranges is gorgeous!

I’d love to know if any of you will be going with a boho style for your own wedding. If so, will you be incorporating the boho style with other design elements like this bride envisioned?

Lynn’s wedding inspiration was drawn from her lifelong love of flowers. She knew from the beginning that she wanted to create an indoor enchanted garden, hoping her guests would walk into the venue and feel like they were transported in to her floral fairy tale. Her florist created an amazing ceremony area using cascading vines, and flowers and trees with twinkle lights.

Lynn and Charles chose each detail for the reception painstakingly. They found pens that looked like tree branch twigs and a custom-made wooden sign-in book. Lynn created table numbers using bark twine and moss cubes. Signs scattered throughout the reception matched the couple’s wedding invitations and pointed out various sweet stations including a sundae bar, donut station, huge candy buffet, cake truffles and a traditional wedding cake. Yes, Lynn has quite a sweet tooth! A light up, LED dance floor was the perfect modern twist to complement the garden theme.

I love that in addition to their enchanted garden theme, Lynn and Charles also incorporated their Korean heritage into their big day.

Are any of you planning to add any cultural traditions to your wedding? I’d love to hear in the comments below!

XOXO,
Carlee

Why do you see yourself as being Modern, Vintage, Classic, or Eclectic?

I am a modern photographer. My style is based on my enthusiasm, energy, love and interest in people. I like finding out who two people are as individuals and who those two are as a couple. I show this in my photographs and love doing it.

What is your favorite wedding detail you’ve ever seen or created?

My favorite detail thus far has to be one I shot at an intimate wedding this past February. It was of a beautiful, lush, pink rose tied with white ribbon on the back of a black, patterned chair. The detail itself is not the reason why it is my favorite, but because of the experience I was having. I was surrounded by a couple and family who truly knew what love was about. They laughed, had fun and enjoyed the experience of their wedding day. It was an amazing wedding and truly embodied what it means to be happy.

What is your favorite thing about weddings?

My favorite thing about weddings is seeing a bride and her groom on the day of. They walk in a different light. It is the time when she is most beautiful and he most handsome. Her pre-wedding excitement as she takes up her bouquet for the first time, his deep breath as he adjusts his cufflinks, and the overwhelming smile they have across their faces as they look at the person they are going to spend the rest of their life with for the first time. Absolutely beautiful.

What qualities do you possess that enable you to work well with brides and grooms?

I love getting to know people, more specifically, people in love. The little things that he does to make her laugh or the things she does that fills him with joy. Their likes or dislikes and above all, who they are. It’s always a fun conversation.
