Chic & Whimsical Bridal Shower Inspiration

Although I have tons to say about today’s bridal shower inspiration, just one sentence sums up my thoughts: this is my dream event. I adore bows, flowers in vintage vases, stationery, and feminine, whimsical style… and today’s inspiration is filled to the brim with everything I just mentioned! Trust me- you’re going to wish you could attend this event too!

Jessica, the owner of Crate Paper Co, imagined a bridal shower where guests would gather in a welcome space for an intimate gathering that was equal parts elegant, comfortable, and relaxed. With Paisley & Jade’s beautiful space serving as the venue, Jessica designed gorgeous hand drawn floral stationery (it’s incredible!) with a black and white palette in mind. The palette allowed her to mix in other colors, like cobalt blue and shades of pink, to create a gorgeous statement. Round placecards greeted guests at their seats and mix and match clear vases filled with ivory and pink florals designed by The Proper Petal lined the table. Also, just wait until you see the bride-to-be’s style! Katharine and Ben’s Georgia wedding is overflowing with love, happiness, and sweet Southern charm. Wanting her to wedding be elegant yet simple, Katharine turned to wedding planner Belle of the Ball Events, who assisted her in choosing a stunning navy and white color palette accented perfectly with pinks and yellows. The sweetest first look, embroidered bridesmaid shawls, and gorgeous florals are just a few of the details that have us head over heels in love with today’s wedding, and we think once you see the images captured by Rustic White Photography, you’re going to fall in love too! We’ll let Katharine take things over from here, as she shares about her wedding planning experience- enjoy friends!

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

I had an amazing team of people assisting with the planning. From the beginning, Ben was very involved in all of the planning and decision making. We had a wedding planner, Eva Clark of Belle of the Ball Events, who walked us through the steps and helped us with every detail. I also had the help and support of my family, Ben’s family, and my maid of honor. They contributed in various ways to accomplish everything that needed to be done. They also provided lots of moral support and encouragement during the entire process.

What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?

When selecting vendors, it was really important to me to have confidence in them and the service they offer. Guidance from Eva, references, and reviews were so helpful to ensure they would do a wonderful job on my wedding day.

What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?

Simple yet elegant was my inspiration, which is a recurring theme in my life. I described to Eva the look that I wanted, and she made it happen. She did a wonderful job and I couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out!

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

My favorite part was watching people enjoy the evening during cocktail hour. The weather (which was surprisingly warm for a winter evening), appetizers, drinks, fire pit, lake, and sunset made it a perfect evening. The best part is that our photographers captured this energy in one of our portraits, which is both of our favorite pictures!

What is your best piece of advice for other brides?

Know your limits and be willing to ask others for help. You’ll be amazed by the people around you who want to help in any way! If you ask for their help, trust them with what you ask.

If there’s one thing we love to see, it’s unique color palettes and design, and these teal, blue, and white wedding ideas display both of those things fabulously! Shades of blue and teal paired with lush white florals were accented beautifully by wood and gold elements, creating a design that is both romantic and elegant with a touch of whimsical fun. Handmade paper flowers played a gorgeous role in this inspiration, creating one of my favorite wedding details, Mr & Mrs signs, and adding a decorative element to the already stunning cake table. And to top it all off, everything was captured impeccably by Katelyn James Photography– we can’t wait for you to see all of the pretty!

Classic Pink & Plum Seattle Wedding

Suzuye and Jeffrey’s Seattle wedding took place on the 76^th floor of the Columbia Tower Club. Although the pair lives in California, Suzuye’s grandmother had been a member of the club for years, so it was a sweet way to honor her. Plus, the views of the city and the Puget Sound are incredible!

Suzuye adores Kate Spade, and she wanted to fill her arrangements created by Ravenna Bloom with peonies for her June wedding because they are her favorite flower. Napkins were tied with ribbon to create a bow at each place setting, and all of the gold confetti details were reminiscent of Kate Spade’s classically whimsical style too. Though I’m always partial to blooms, my favorite detail from S+J’s wedding is a tie between the gorgeous light that flowed into the room and the cake designed by Stone Layne Baked Specialties. The cake combined the sweet gold confetti theme with flowers that were an exact replica of the lace flowers on Suzuye’s dress – amazing.

S+J’s wedding was impeccably planned by Simply by Tamara Nicole who also designed the menus, and each photo was wonderfully captured by C2 Photography. Suzuye is here with us today, sharing her insight about her wedding day with us. This wedding will be a favorite, friends, and we can’t wait for you to see!

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

Tamara Nicole was amazing! She did everything. Planning a wedding in Seattle while the bride is on Pinterest in Orange County is not an easy task. She took care of everything that day.

What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?

The most important thing was that my parents loved Tamara. I trust my parents completely and when they told me how much they loved her after the meeting I said “perfect.”

What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?

My inspiration came from molding everything I loved being tossed in here and there. I love plumy rich dark colors but not the stark difference when matched with white, so adding a bright pop of pink was perfect. I love gold and confetti so the dots were perfect. It was important to me to design with things I love and not to get trapped in just one theme.

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

My favorite thing about the wedding was having all my friends and family in one place. I wish I could smoosh everyone into 1 state.

What is your best piece of advice for other couples?

My best piece of advice is to hire a wedding planner! You are going to need someone to take care of everything behind the scenes, remind you of things you forgot, keep you on track and most importantly can be un-biased.

We totally and completely agree with Suzuye’s advice! She and Jeffrey look so happy and like they don’t have a care in the world- love it!
