Christina and Joe’s Winter Park wedding at The Alfond Inn was the perfect blend of fun, color, and elegance. The bride’s color palette was inspired by pink bougainvillea, a lovely reminder of the spring season. Lee James Floral Designs created a stunning, lush floral circle, filled with greenery, to bring the outdoors in and add to the Spring feel of the day. The formality of a black-tie wedding was exactly what the couple wanted, and adding the entertainment of a live band, they provided their guests with a night to remember. The way Kristen Weaver Photography captured the day was of course gorgeous, and we can’t wait for you to be inspired by this pink, elegant wedding day!
What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?
Our wedding would not have happened without Brandee Gaar, of Blush by Brandee Gaar. She helped streamline the entire planning process, saving this very indecisive bride (and mother of the bride) from hours and hours of research by bringing us wonderful vendors and years of personal expertise and knowledge. Not only was she able to bring our vision to life on our wedding day, she helped Joe plan the perfect Welcome Reception at my parents’ home the night before, which set the tone for the entire weekend. In the days after the wedding, people asked me if there were any hiccups, and I realized that there weren’t (or none that I knew of)- a true testament to Brandee and her team.
What was the most important to the two of you while planning? Was there anything that you chose to splurge on or skip?
We were really focused on the celebration and making the day enjoyable for everyone who was there with us. Because of that, music and food were really important elements of the day. C’Nergy was exactly the band we were looking for- super talented and energetic, with a great range of songs. The Alfond Inn’s food was elegant and delicious. In the months since our day, guests have repeatedly mentioned how good their meal and the music was, so those choices definitely paid off!
What were your favorite parts of the day?
My favorite parts of the day were the unexpected elements. I had no idea what to expect from my father’s speech, or our brothers’ (our best men) speeches, but they were all so touching, funny, and heartfelt, and ended up being a real highlight of the day. Joe and I chose to share our father-daughter and mother-son dances and, unexpectedly, two of our guests joined in and everyone else followed to really get the dance party started. It was definitely a happy accident!
Do you have any advice for couples planning their weddings now?
Hire a great planner! If you’re planning from afar, working full-time, and have indecisive tendencies, they will save you tons of headaches!
