Brides, I have a little secret for your. We (vendors) WANT you to be inspired. We encourage it, because we can’t read your mind (although that would be FANTASTIC). You’re already doing a great job at being inspired by reading {ELD}! Keep reading other blogs. Buy magazines. Get wedding inspiration apps on your phone. Look at wedding vendors’ websites and blogs throughout the country. Everyone is better off when you come prepared with ideas, wants, and a vision. And I mean everyone- from your floral designer to your photographer, your DJ to your caterer. It’s always awesome for everyone to be in-the-know about what your plans are for your wedding. That way, the outcome for everyone is great!

Warning: You could experience inspiration-overload and end up having SO MUCH inspiration that you can’t quite decide on what you truly like. So what should you be looking for when browsing for your wedding inspiration?

Flowers– Types of flowers you like, types you hate, bouquets, centerpieces, bouts- anything with flowers that you see that you like!
Colors– Color combinations you like. It always helps to see you wedding colors in someone else’s wedding. Look through blogs and photographers’ blogs to find real weddings.
Style– Such a big thing. Know what style you want your wedding to be. Colors can help determine this too. Try the
{ELD} Style Dictionary to help you out.
Details– Accessories, favors, escort card/item setups, paper products (menus, invitations, escort/place cards, programs, save the dates, special items), guestbooks, special decor (garlands, fabric use, DIY items, vintage items), and so so much more.
Awesomeness– Anything that you see and immediately have your jaw hit the keyboard. Like a gorgeous photos of a bride a groom with fabulous lighting. This is particularly good for helping your photographer figure you out. :)

Definitely save all your photos. A program like Evernote is a GREAT help when browsing through the web. You can quickly save a photo or a website, tag it with whatever you want, and then come back to it later on. It’s so much better and more visual than using your browser’s Favorites.

So, today’s tip….BE INSPIRED and don’t be ashamed of it! Share your inspiration with your vendors, and your wedding will be THAT much better!

Fantastic advice. We use a Style Questionaire with adjectives, but never thought to add definitions. Definitely helpful. We enjoy and recommend your blog to our clients!
