This rustic chic Pennsylvania barn wedding from Cyn Kain Photography that I have for you all today is absolutely gorgeous! A rustic chic style paired with blush pink details and beautiful florals make for a barn wedding that is one to remember! The beautiful bride, Lizzie, is here with us today to share her planning insight and advice with us:
What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?
I used my family exclusively for the planning process of the wedding. I did look at various wedding blogs and social websites like Pinterest to gather my ideas together. I come from a very creative and hands-on family. As such, we were able to do most, if not all, of the planning and decorating ourselves!
What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?
When it came to the venue, we knew we wanted a rustic, country wedding. In the location I live, there are many options for this. However, the venue we ended up choosing benefits a special needs organization through employment and donation, which for me was the deciding factor. Not only was our location stunningly beautiful, but that same location benefitted a very worthy cause.
What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?
Much of the wedding/reception details and decorations came down to A LOT of research! Anything that I saw online that I loved, I would try to replicate in some form or another, as a sort of crafting project. From the hand-burned wood, to the signs, to the invitations, many of the details were inspired by other country-themed weddings, but created by myself and some helpful family members!
What was your favorite thing about your wedding?
Everything. In fact, we want to do it all over again! The weather that day was absolutely perfect (my husband, a meteorologist, says we can thank him for that!) for the middle of June in Pennsylvania, the events went almost exactly according to plan, and how we were able to take pictures with horses (how cool is that!?)! My favorite part was being able to have my maid-of-honor hand my husband a quick note while AT the alter stating that I couldn’t wait to marry him — and it brought him to tears! He still carries that note in his wallet to this day :)
What is your best piece of advice for other brides?
SLOW DOWN! The engagement/wedding planning process is SO quick. Instead of stressing out, worrying, and losing your mind, just take a deep breath and slow things down! Everything happens so quickly, and before you know it the wedding will be over and you’ll be wishing it was back in the planning phase again! Also, while you’re at your wedding, take a minute or two to just look around and savor/remember the moments you are in — otherwise your day will be a blur and you’ll hardly remember the small details that you worked so hard for! That last piece of advice was the best one we received before our big day!
I love love love Lizzie’s advice! It’s important to soak everything in from both the planning process and the wedding day! Everything is just gorgeous, don’t you think? I love how everything is so charming and intimate- I think the rustic chic elements add a lot of this.
And now for a little something extra from this fabulous wedding… some beautiful captures of the rehearsal dinner, planned and photographed by the groom’s sister, photographer Melissa Oholendt!
I love the colorful elements added to the casual chic style of the rehearsal dinner! Absolutely fabulous!
So tell me friends- are any of you having a wedding with a rustic chic style like this one?
Vendors who made it all happen…
