Taking place in beautiful Islamorada, this romantic lavender and yellow wedding from Bob Care Photography is sure to brighten your day! Drawing inspiration from “A Midsummers Night Dream”, the pale shades of lavender, yellow, blush, and green lend a perfect garden feel to the already romantic style. And when you add that to a waterside setting and gorgeous, lush florals, this wedding is just overflowing with inspiration and beauty! The bride, Jessica, is here with us today to share her planning insight:
What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?
What helped me the most while planning the wedding was the actually the internet to put it broadly. I planned a destination wedding so I had to rely heavily on internet based websites. I used Pinterest and Etsy constantly for creative images to help inspire my vision. This was key because I could not see sample with all the vendors being so far away. I had to visualize and those sites really helped make me feel confident and excited about planning. I was also able to find honest bridal reviews that helped me make the right decisions. I don’t know what I would have done with out sites like TheKnot and Weddingwire for there reviews alone. They are invaluable for a bride planning a destination wedding.
What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?
The most important thing to me when deciding who to work with for our wedding was…….cost and creativity. I was keeping to a budget so I had to scale back and mak cost conscious decisions while trying to keep my vision in tack. I researched vendors with positive reviews for quality, reliability, and creativity. I explained my theme and ideas and knew right away who to work with. Vendors who can expand and add to your vision are jewels. They elevate everything to the next level.
What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?
The inspiration for our wedding was a very romantic and earthy playing off aspects of a Midsummers Nights Dream theme. I loved that all of the elements of nature were included in the ceremony. Water by the ocean, wind blowing over the water in the keys, earth being the sand under our feet and fire from the tiki torches that lined the beautiful ceremony area.
What was your favorite thing about your wedding?
My favorite aspect of the wedding was the beautiful location and set up for the ceremony. It was lit with torches and led to the ocean where all our friends and family sat looking out over the ocean. The archway was gorgeous and was covered with flowing white fabric, beautiful flowers and willow branches.
What is your best piece of advice for other brides?
My best advice for others brides is to try to come up with a clear vision. Choose the top 3 words that you want people to use when describing your ideal wedding. From there you can research and narrow down a plan that is customized to your tastes, colors, budget and other unique preferences. You have to know where you can save and when you have to splurge. For instance, there are many creative DIY cost saving ideas that can be found in the decor area but be sure you do not skimp on the photos or video. They will be a peice of that day you can have forever.Do your best and the day of let it all go and make the best of your day no matter what!
That is some amazing insight!! Thank you so much for sharing with us Jessica!
