This beautiful yellow and navy North Carolina wedding from KMI Photography is one after my own heart! High school sweethearts Meghan and Paul- and their families- had been waiting for this day for ten years, and as someone who also married their high school sweetheart, I can surely attest to the love and happiness that surroundsĀ the day. Meghan is here with us today sharing more about her planning experience and her wedding day…
What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?
My wedding planner Charyl Williams from Social Butterfly Events and was amazing and executed my vision for the day. She came up with unique ideas that were perfect for my husband and I that helped really make it our own!
What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?
The most important thing for me when searching for vendors was ensuring they could execute my vision but also on a budget. I was so lucky to have amazing vendors that were able to take my ideas and turn them into reality.
What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?
My inspiration for my wedding was a mix between preppy and coastal. My colors were gray, navy blue, white, and yellow. I wanted my guests to feel relaxed and have a great night celebrating. I also wanted to incorporate the university Paul and I graduated from, East Carolina University, into our day. We had the school colors, purple and gold streamers for our grand exit as well as our reception introduction song was “purple haze” which is what the football team enters the stadium to on game day. We wanted people to walk away at the end of the night and say that was Meghan and Paul.
What was your favorite thing about your wedding?
My favorite thing about my wedding was having all of our loved ones under one roof celebrating our love and the joining of our two families. We are high school sweethearts so our families have been waiting for this day for the past 10 years.

What is your best piece of advice for other brides?
The best advice I can give fellow brides is to remember this is your day and to do whatever makes you and your husband happy!
Vendors who made it all happen..
