This modern coral and navy wedding is absolutely overflowing with color and style! Wanting a wedding that was a true representation of their love and personalities, Karolyn and T.J. combined their love of everything modern, outdoorsy and southern to create a South Carolina wedding full of fun and elegance. Planned by By Invitation Only Event Planning & Design and captured by Joshua Aaron Photography, this wedding is sure to knock your socks off! Karolyn is here to share her planning insight with us today:
What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?
My best friend Sarah Duarte (Matron of Honor), Pintrest and my wedding planner Melanie Murphy from By Invitation Only…Event Planning & Design. My fried Sarah let me bounce ideas of her 24/7 and my planner made my vision come to life! Both Melanie and Sarah made sure I could enjoy every minute of my wedding day by not having to worry about anything.
What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?
Budget friendly, quality, presentation and service. I wanted to make sure my vendors provided exceptional quality, service and had a great presentation but at a reasonable price.
What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?
Chevron – I became obsessed with it as soon as I saw the pattern. Chevron is modern, classy and loud. As for the details, I wanted to make sure my Hispanic culture was incorporated in a fun/ classy way.
What was your favorite thing about your wedding?
Dancing – I had a mix of music – oldies, classics, current and Spanish music. I love to dance – my husband not so much but on our wedding day we just danced the night away and I loved every moment of it – I was on cloud nine!
What is your best piece of advice for other brides?
Do your research and get a day of wedding planner! Yes, it takes time to research and sometimes it’s easier to just pay the price so you can knock out your task quickly but if you take the time to research you may find a better deal and something or someone you enjoy working with better. I researched every aspect of my wedding, negotiated as much as I could without sacrificing on quality and was able to have the wedding of my dreams on a friendly budget. Also, hire a day of wedding planner if you can. My planner “got me” she understood my vision and helped make it come to life. She made sure everything was set-up and taken care of; she was with me from the moment I walked down the ale until we made our exit. Hands down one of the best investments we made!!!
Absolutely fabulous advice! And how amazing is the coral, navy and gray together? I love it!
Are any of you using a pattern in your own wedding decor like the chevron that Karolyn used?
Vendors who made it all happen…

Love her coral shoes!
Love it! I am thinking of doing these colors! I am still in the early stages….trying to find an affordable venue. Ugh. If you don’t mind me asking where did you find the chevron table runners? And the chevron table signs you have framed? Are they printables? Thank you! Congrats!
I absolutely love your colour scheme. My wedding is the same theme. Where did you get the stubby holders? Would love to have them at my wedding!!!
Where can I buy the same tie ? It’s awesome !
