Inspired by a love for open air markets and fresh food, these farmers market wedding ideas from Amanda Douglas Events and J.Stephens Photography might be my favorite wedding inspiration ever! Using fresh fruits and vegetables like asparagus, radishes, and pears (just to name a few), a gorgeously crisp and colorful tablescape was the result, and it is truly a sight to behold.

From Amanda Douglas Events:

“This shoot was hugely inspirited by my love for farmers markets, my time in Europe and lazy afternoons strolling through Italian Markets.

A beautiful fresh garden and the charm of a farmers market is alluring to many, so why not incorporate rich elements of both into your wedding. Every day vegetables such as asparagus and radishes balance out the exotic temptation of the large pink King Protea from South Africa.

As all humans come in many different shapes and sizes, so do fruits and vegetables. Tall and leafy vegetables are perfect for high centre pieces, Swiss Chard and asparagus as texture and allure to your table. Using the asparagus at the base of the flower arrangements elongates the over all setting, while the rough string tied around the vegetables gives the allusion of the items coming right from the market. Mason jars and milk jugs are a great cost effective tools to house items such as swish chard and radishes. These jars are items that you can easily collect over time, and takes your guests back to the moms kitchen growing up, making home made jams and jellies.

To keep with this crisp market theme use menu and place cards in calligraphy to personalize each setting. A steady hand, black ink, and crisp white paper can add that extra touch to your special day. When choosing the items on your menu, remember to keep them rich in flavour to match your overall theme; such as the antipasti stuffed mushrooms capicola and proscuitto. Surpass the traditional white cake at your wedding and opt for a naked cake with luscious cream, and caramel drizzle topped with ripe juicy blackberries. A naked cake ads a rough edginess to your table as it is full of different flavors and textures.

Your big day can be both enchanting and elegant using this Market Fresh theme.”

Being a bit of a foodie myself, I just can’t get enough of this unique take on a wedding theme! In fact, I told my husband that if we ever do a vow renewal/wedding redo, we will definitely be using this as inspiration!

I would love to hear what you think of these famers market wedding ideas! Are any of you inspired by a theme like this?
