Michelle and Kevin’s California wedding was nothing short of an elegant affair. Friends and family of the bride and groom flew in from all over the world to experience a beautiful day celebrating the duo at Hummingbird Nest Ranch. Perfect lighting, romantic gardens, and a blush color palette with pops of deep red were just a few of our favorite elements, and we of course can’t forget the custom escort card installation created by CCL Weddings & Events! Christine Farah Photography captured the day perfectly, and we’re also sharing some of Michelle’s best wedding advice too- read on to see it all!
What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?
Being a MOH for my sister’s wedding the year before really helped. I knew what it took in terms of planning for her to special day.
What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?
The most important thing to us when deciding which vendors to work with comes from what we thought was worth splurging on and what we were fine without. My husband and I made a list of what was important for us to have at the wedding. We knew we wanted to provide our guests with amazing food and drinks. So we made sure to hire a outside catering company instead of using the in house service. The in house service would’ve saved us a ton of money, but it was worth the splurge. Everything raved about the food quality and service, which you don’t hear often at a wedding.
What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?
We went with timeless and elegant but yet sparkles of fun thrown in there. We didn’t want to follow too much of what was trendy at the moment and instead what we really believed was easy and tasteful.
What was your favorite thing about your wedding?
Seeing everything come together from months of planning and the fact that we were able to enjoy every minute of the weekend! It was stress-less and enjoyable filled with love from people that travelled all around the world to celebrate with us. We wanted to celebrate our 12 year relationship and be able to share that with our friends and family is everything.
What is your best piece of advice for other brides?
Hire a wedding planner if you can afford one. The planning process can be a headache and tons of decision making, but at the end, we couldn’t have done it without our team working throughout the process to make sure our day was perfect.
Vendors who made it all happen…
