Taking place in an industrial warehouse, Jess and Hunter’s navy and orange wedding incorporated an eclectic mix of rustic elements in with a bit of urban style and vintage details. The unique navy and orange color palette was a perfect way to create a warm, inviting space and bring color into this Nashville wedding captured by Amy Nicole Photography. The beautiful bride, Jess, is here with us today sharing more about her planning process…

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

My Mom was a huge help when it came to the planning process because she knows me so well. My fiance was deployed during most of the planning process, so having my Mom around to bounce ideas off of was great. I also used Emily Kennedy of Kennedy Occasions as my month before and day of wedding planner. We already had most of the vendors picked out, and Emily helped me look over contracts and find any missing details I hadn’t thought of. She also coordinated everything on the day of the wedding so my family and I could just sit back and enjoy the day without worrying. Having her there made the day go by so smoothly.

What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?

I wanted to use vendors I knew I could rely on. Asking the people at my venue for recommendations was a great place to start since they know what works in their space. I also wanted to find vendors who understood the kind of wedding I wanted to have. The first time I met with my photographer, Amy Nicole, she mentioned that most of her brides are more excited about getting married than they are about the actual wedding day, and that really stuck with me because that is exactly how I felt.

What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?

I wanted the wedding to be warm and inviting, not at all stuffy. My favorite color is blue, and my husband’s favorite color is orange, and those colors are very fall appropriate without being too literal. I wanted it to be autumnal without having pumpkins and gourds everywhere. My main focus was the lighting, which was done by Bright Events. It really transforms the space into something magical.

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

My favorite part was getting married to my favorite person, of course! I also loved listening to my dad play a song that he wrote for me. It was a really special moment that I will cherish forever.

What is your best piece of advice for other brides?

Get someone who is not a friend or relative to coordinate your wedding day, and splurge on the photographer. Trust me.

That is some of the best advice I’ve ever heard! And aren’t Jess and Hunter SO adorable? I love it when you can truly see the love a couple has for each other through their photos! I myself have absolutely fallen in love with this orange and navy color palette- especially Jess’s bouquet!

Are any of you planning on using a pop of color (like orange) in your own color palette! Share what your palette will be in the comments!
