Mallory and Tommy’s 1920s inspired wedding came to life thanks to their love of the Prohibition Era and one particular speakeasy-style bar in Prague that the two visited together. This vintage fête is the epitome of a vintage themed wedding, and not only that, but one that truly embraces it. With the assistance of their wedding planner, Along Came Stephanie, Mallory and Tommy’s vision for a speakeasy themed wedding was brought to fruition by incorporating a pale blue and blush pink color palette, decanters on each table, and custom-made antique lamp centerpieces. Lucky for us, Set Free Photography was there to capture it all, and Mallory is here with us today to tell us all about her day…

What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?

The combination of price and quality. I read lots of reviews and took recommendations from friends. Good vendor correspondence is also a winner for me, along with passion for their career.

What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?

I am a history buff and have a fascination with anything during the Prohibition Era. My husband and I traveled to Europe a few years ago and spent an evening in a beautiful and inconspicuous speakeasy-style bar in Prague, Czech Republic. This inspired our speakeasy-themed wedding. We were looking for a mysterious, but toned down Gatsby feel.

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

It was so much fun. Although classy and elegant, the mood was very relaxed and comfortable.

What is your best piece of advice for other brides?

Try to embrace the wedding planning experience. Don’t get get too caught up in the possibility of chaos and try to understand why other people want an opinion on every last detail. It’s your day, but it’s also a day for everyone who loves you. In the end, no one will know the programs were the wrong color or that you forgot the flower petals down the isle. Everyone just wants to have a good time.

I love Mallory’s advice! And how awesome is it that the two even had a speakeasy-style door to enter into their reception? Talk about really embracing the theme- I love it!

So tell me- would you do something with a theme like this 1920s inspired wedding? What would you do?

We love vintage-inspired weddings! It’s a really great way to achieve a theme-feeling wedding, while still remaining timeless and classic. Plus, its a ton of fun for your guests! We have an old Rolls Royce Silver Cloud that all couples love, but is especially great for those vintage weddings. And I love transforming our venue into something out of a history book. Such a beautiful wedding!
