Interview
Why do you see yourself as being Modern, Vintage, Classic, or Eclectic?
I've always incorporated a very classic and elegant style in every facet of my life, so it very naturally comes forward in elements I design. But I honestly love mixing different elements to achieve a design that leaves you always finding new details to Ooo and Ahh over time and time again!
What is your favorite wedding detail you've ever seen or created?
One of my brides chose to have her wedding under the canopy of a wishing tree. Because this tree was so well known, the bride wanted to write a wish in a letter to each of her guests. We chose natural, dusty blue Arpa paper and rewrote their love letter in beautiful copper calligraphy to each couple/guest. In the letter, the couple shared a favorite moment, funny memories and well wishes. This letter also served as a seating arrangement, as it hung in the tree adorned with a name and a table number. Couples were directed first to the tree, to find their name and seating, but were pleasantly surprised with a memory and a tear. As each guest made their way to be seated, they found, at their seats, a place to wish the couple well in return. By the end of the evening, each guest had received and personally given a token of their love and what it meant to each of them to share in that special moment with the couple.
What is your favorite store or brand?
I have always consistently loved Ralph Lauren, other brands and stores seem to come and go. For my home, I've always loved Z Gallery or West Elm. And shoes are a whole new category on their own!
What advice do you have for a newly engaged couple?
Something I've always wished I could relay to my couples before we ever meet is to enjoy the moment just for yourselves. The rest will come.
What is your favorite thing about weddings?
I love to see couples through from start to finish. My favorite moments are when months and even years of planning come together on one beautiful day. It's incredible to see something you've worked so hard for come together so perfectly in the end. Every detail has its place, every moment is meaningful and the guests take it all away saying it was the best wedding they have ever attended. They leave feeling even more connected to each other and to the couple.
What qualities do you possess that enable you to work well with brides and grooms?
As a planner, I wear so many hats. I believe some of the most imperative qualities I have are being a great communicator for my couples. My goal, and something I feel I do well, is always to know and understand all of my couples well enough to pair them with the wedding professionals who will make their wedding day more than they ever imagined.
What steps do you take to ensure that your clients will have amazing wedding days when working with you?
I love nothing more than to bring people together with intent and purpose. The industry leaders I work with are so passionate about what they do, but pairing those people perfectly with you, your style, your design and your budget is what fulfills my heart's’ purpose. Together with each couple, we will design a comprehensive budget to meet every need, choose the perfect wedding suite, coordinate your appointments and make sure that you are Aisle Ready! No detail is left untouched.
