Interview
Why do you see yourself as being Modern, Vintage, Classic, or Eclectic?
I consider my work to be a reflection of my own style. I prefer images that are timeless with a modern approach. We don't stand around and do a bunch of stiff photos, but we do spend time getting those traditional family shots (for mom + dad) and then we spend time getting to know each other, walking around and getting natural, candid reactions. To me, this creates happy, timeless images that will live on for generations. My editing style is very clean and natural. I try to reflect the day in my images exactly as it was and edit my photos to match that.
What is your favorite wedding detail you've ever seen or created?
My favorite wedding details are memorial tables/settings. I absolutely love when couple's gather old photos of beloved family members and friends who either couldn't make it to the celebration or have already passed.
What is your favorite store or brand?
I'm personally a Target girl at heart with a strong affinity for anything Apple.
What advice do you have for a newly engaged couple?
My biggest tip, as a wedding photographer, would be to find vendors who you truly vibe with. Not only should you adore their work and envision yourself in their images they showcase, but you also need to enjoy them as human beings. You will spend the most time on your wedding day with your planner, photographer, and videographer. Make sure you vibe well and have similar goals for your wedding day.
What is your favorite thing about weddings?
The gathering of families that probably haven't all been in a room in YEARS! It's incredible to see everyone come together to celebrate a couple's love and union.
What qualities do you possess that enable you to work well with brides and grooms?
ENFJ. Capricorn. Those things said, I make sure you look damn good and I tell you how to 'work it' if you don't. I'm open and honest when it comes to planning out the day and what will and will not work photography wise (someone has to break down the timeline). I go with the flow, no wedding day goes exactly according to plan and I know how to improvise and make it work (that took years of practice). I'm pretty funny, or at least corny enough to get those giggly candid smiles out of your whole wedding party.
What steps do you take to ensure that your clients will have amazing wedding days when working with you?
Communication. Seriously the only thing that matters. I try to prepare my clients prior to their wedding day so they know how the day will go, where to be when, and what I plan to do to get those gorgeous photos you see on my website.
