An organic and natural look filled with deep jewel tones, fresh fruit, and a whimsical brilliance made for a beautiful foodie wedding design created by Taylor Falcon Events and Marigold Flower Co.

Tim and Kylee Photography captured this style perfectly. This design incorporated classic elements, like the stationery from A&P Designs that had a touch of botanical whimsy, creating a beautiful balance of an organic and boho feel that was seen throughout the rest of the look. The gorgeous bridal gown from Malindy Elene Bridal was also a perfect example of bridging the gap between classic and bohemian with the formfitting cut paired with the bolder pattern and textures.

We love that much of their reception look focused not only on a colorful tabletop design with pieces from Ever After Vintage Weddings, but also on delicious food elements and the perfect presentation. Saltblock Hospitality created not only a beautiful spread, but showed how presentation can make a big impact when serving food in a family-style format. We also love how the naked cake from Jaime Cakes LLC created the perfect complement with touches of fruit and a sweet drizzle dripping down the icing. Guys, we are getting serious food envy over here, and we can’t wait for you to see!

With a last minute venue switch 2 weeks before the wedding, Kira and Erick weren’t sure what their California wedding day would look or be like, but with the guidance and quick work of their planner, Michelle Garibay Events, and their accommodating vendor team, their wedding day was more magical than they could have imagined.

With their new venue, Park Hyatt Aviara, secured, they created a stunning day with a simple and neutral color palette that allowed for intentional details to really shine. The floral design by Soiree Floral Design absolutely stole the show, starting with the ceremony style. As Kira walked down the aisle towards Erick, she was greeted with an incredible entrance and altar design that made for a beautiful visual representation of the moments they shared as they said their “I Dos.”

We love that they kept their reception style fairly simple and classic, with touches of coastal elegance as a nod to their California location, and their decision to make a few splurge decisions in their rental decor seriously paid off.

You are going to love every special moment that was so beautifully captured by paige nelson photography, and you’re sure to be as surprised as we were that they ran into bumps in their planning in those final few weeks.

Tell us a little a bit about your wedding.

We just wanted it to be clean and classic like our normal style with lots of natural florals and some special touches. We didn’t want it to be super trendy or dated in the future when looking back at pictures. Our florist really made our vision come to life. We wanted it to be elegant and modern, but laid back and a little bit coastal. We also wanted it to be in a Carlsbad because it’s our favorite area of San Diego and I grew up spending lots of time at the beach there. Even our rehearsal dinner was at the restaurant we go to every time we go to the beach so it has lots of fun memories with our family and friends.

What was the most important to the two of you while planning? Was there anything that you chose to splurge on or skip?

Our biggest splurge was the chairs for our guests. Since the theme was very clean and classic I wanted to make a statement in an area that wouldn’t be different and unique. We also LOVED our aisle and arch. They were more beautiful than I ever imagined and it was so emotional to see the ceremony turn out so well after our dramatic venue change 2 weeks before our wedding.

What were your favorite parts of the day?

After the first look my maid of honor and I got lost in the tunnels below the hotel. Neither of us had phones and guests were literally everywhere so we ended up being really late to the staging area…

We went with our photographer to take pictures during the cocktail hour that required a hike through a forest. The pictures were totally worth it but when we got back to the car my dress was covered in stickers and my feet were so dirty from hiking barefoot through trails that I never put my shoes on the rest of the night.

My favorite part of the whole event was our ceremony, it was so personal since both Erick and I are so close to my step dad, Greg. I thought I would be nervous but we were so calm and we had so much FUN pledging our love to each other with all our favorite people there.

Did you include any family heirlooms or special traditions?

I loved my bouquet, it was so huge and heavy and we tied both my grandmothers wedding rings and a charm with “All You Need Is Love” engraved to represent my dad since he loved The Beatles.

We walked down the aisle to Jack Johnson “better together” to honor my mom and stepdads marriage since that is the song my mom walked down to at their wedding.

What did you do for favors?

We skipped favors and instead donated to the Human Rights Campaign to help advance marriage equality. Love is Love!

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

Our coordinator, Tiana, and Claire at the venue were amazing. I have no idea what they did but I rarely saw them so I know we owe it all to them. Since everything was so last minute, I think it’s a miracle it even happened, so they have to be extremely talented people to pull that off.

We are also thrilled to share a snippet of their sweet day that You + Me Films captured!

Do you have any advice for couples planning their weddings now?

Since we had a really bad experience with our original venue (although very reputable) and had to change venues 2 weeks before, I would say go with your gut if something feels off. Also- don’t stay with your venue if they say anything about construction… even if it is 9 months after you book with them and they promise it will be done. Because it won’t.

We also only hired vendors that we LOVED spending time with and I think that made it feel like they were guests too and like we were hanging out with friends. We had so much fun with Tiana, our coordinator, and our photographers and videographers the whole day. We were so lucky and now consider them all to be friends.

Don’t forget lipstick/ lipgloss.

Have an afterparty or a 2nd location lined up after the event- that was so much fun and really the best time we got to spend celebrating and letting our hair down with our friends.

Trust your coordinator and photographer to do their jobs. They are the professionals and they were right about everything. Only hire people you trust because then you will be able to relax and enjoy the day.

So many great words for future couples. Regardless of the situation, making the most of it, and allowing yourself to live in that moment will benefit you greatly!

Celebrating around an elegant dining table surrounded by family and friends sounds like the perfect way to enjoy an intimate wedding day, and you’ll love the beauty that Jennifer Kathryn Photography captured of this gorgeous jewel-toned wedding inspiration.

With a rich color palette of deep peacock teal, shades of amethyst and aubergine, onyx, chocolate, stone, and a variety of green tones, all accented with blush and bright pinks, they created a style of elegance and depth. With the guidance and planning of Curate Plan Style, this look came to life in the most beautiful way. We absolutely love the pop of bold pink color that Avant Gardenia added in the floral design features, and Halls Rental added the most beautiful layers and textures with the modern rentals they brought to the table. Whether you find yourself with a large guest count or a small one, we love how this team of talented vendors created a beautiful and intimate dinner party feel at The Thompson Hotel Chicago.

Don’t you absolutely love this elegant modern wedding style?

We must take a moment to talk about the bride’s stunning, and fashion-forward look now that you’ve seen the complete design. We love the bridal jumpsuit that was chosen for the bride that gave her look a modern edge, but with the addition of the flirty skirt, it took some of the edge off the trendy bridal style. Such a killer combo from Honey Bridal and Samantha Sleeper that created such a fun and unique look.

What do you think? Would you choose a jumpsuit instead of a gown for your wedding day attire?

When planning their Texas wedding, Kyle and Reagan wanted it to reflect their love of being outdoors and their favorite time of year, spring.

They fell head over heels for Sacred Oaks at Camp Lucy and knew they had to say their vows under the century-old oak trees. Whim Hospitality helped this bride and groom bring the outdoors in for their reception, complete with greenery hanging from the ceilings, light fixtures, and walls. We love how intimate it made the space, leaving guests with the feeling as though they were at a party in the forest.

You are sure to fall in love with this lush whimsical garden wedding that 36th Street Events helped this sweet couple plan. Jenny DeMarco Photography captured so many gorgeous details that truly brought the day to life, and we can’t wait for you to see everything from Reagan and Kyle’s big day through images and the words they shared!

Tell us a little a bit about your wedding.

We wanted a spring wedding, you cannot beat Texas in spring! Bluebonnets and Indian paintbrushes are to die for. We both love being outdoors so much and we got engaged/spend a lot of time in Hill Country, so it felt natural to find a place in central Texas. Also, many of our guests were coming from Houston and DFW, so it seemed like a central location. I began looking for an outdoor venue and once I saw Sacred Oaks, I knew it was the place for our big day. Kyle loved it too, those 300 yr old oak trees are phenomenal. I love plants and gardening, so I knew I wanted as many flowers and pants as possible. I wanted to keep everything else a rustic neutral and create an intimate space to celebrate with friends and family. My mom was such a help getting my vision out of my head and communicated to the vendors, I could not have done it without her. I wanted the experience of the wedding to be fun and easy going but still romantic and elegant.

What was the most important to the two of you while planning? Was there anything that you chose to splurge on or skip?

We wanted great food, great music, a time when most our guests could make it, and a no-fuss venue. We got everything we wanted. That being said, it was a struggle planning a wedding in Dripping Springs and living in Houston. Kyle did not get to come to food tastings or hear the band play as all the opportunities we had to do this was during week and he works so he couldn’t take off. I have the flexibility of being able moving my schedule around, so we made it work. I definitely wanted to spend on flowers, but I didn’t feel it was important to spend a crazy amount on cake. We used Quack bakery in Austin, and they were reasonably priced compared to competitors, and organic I believe, and the cake was delicious.

What were your favorite parts of the day?

I had so much fun getting ready with my girls all day! But leading up to that point was a bit stressful. I had a hard time drawing lines in the sand about who was a bridesmaid and house party person. I wanted all of them to be bridesmaids, but I also wanted 5 people standing up there with me and the rest to be in audience for me to look to. In the end, I knew I wanted to have the whole day to spend with my closest friends before getting married. I had so much fun all day and it felt like a vacation, I was not nervous at all to walk down the aisle.

Please describe any DIY, handmade, or personal details.

My mom made two CPRs for each welcome bag! A CPR is a cookie which has chocolate, peanut butter, and Ritz crackers. This cookie is something my mom grew up eating and we always make for special occasions. She also made the little cards that identified what the cookie was, to avoid any nut allergy situations. She helped add a personal touch the welcome bags.

Did you include any family heirlooms or special traditions?

Yes! My veil and my earrings. Also, my family has an heirloom used to sip champagne after cutting the cake. It looks like a woman holding a small vase over her head when it placed down. But once you turn it over, the woman’s skirt and vase rotate so you and your husband can sip champagne at the same time. I remember another cousin of mine doing this at their wedding and thinking how cool that glass was!

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

My mom!! My friends and sisters were there to help in any way I needed as well, and our wedding planner Ren made it all possible. She knew all the vendors we wanted to get in contact with. She was great in making me feel calm about everything and giving me limited options. Before finding a wedding planner I would just google vendor options and it was so overwhelming! She was great at hearing what I wanted and making sure she found a way to get it for me.

Do you have any advice for couples planning their weddings now?

Try not to stress too much. It is a party after all! I was very nervous about following etiquette, and it was stressful figuring out the guest list. In the end, everyone who could make it came and we all had a great time celebrating. Just remember this night to celebrate you and your marriage, it is easy to loose focus of that. Also, make sure to vocalize things that are important to you and over communicate as much as possible. It is a crazy time and things can slip through cracks, just make sure you don’t let them!

So many moments and details that made this bride and groom’s wedding day so sweet. What a gorgeous way to celebrate the start to something special.
