Well hey there again! Apparently I’m really feeling the rustic today, so let’s just say that today is Rustic Farm day! ;) This wedding from Jennifer Martin Photography is awesome. The images are absolutely gorgeous, and the rustic, eco-friendly centerpieces and details are fab! The bride, Leigh (love that name!), is here to share some of her wedding insight with us too!

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

I picked up a great wedding planning book (Wedding Planning Made Easy from WedSpace.com).  This helped me take on projects one at a time and saved my sanity.

What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?

I really wanted to work with people who understood my vision for the wedding.  I wanted to have an event that was rustic, and intimate.  I looked for people who listened to me and did not try to talk me out of things that were important to me, such as surprising my groom with a non-traditional wedding cake.

Did any of your vendors do anything special for you before, on, or after your wedding day that you would like to share?

My photographers (Jennifer Martin Photography) were amazing!  They worked with us every step of the way and they truly understood the style of pictures we were looking for.  I also really appreciated the baker (Mikey’s Café & Bakery) who met with me several times to create a fantastic wedding cake that was perfect for us.

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

I absolutely loved taking the first look pictures.  It was so nice to slow down after the chaos of getting ready and spend some time together.  We were both left speechless after the first look and I will never forget that feeling.

What is your best piece of advice for other brides?

Pick a few things that are important to you to focus on and don’t get too carried away with the details.

Isn’t everything just so beautiful? And how about the reception INSIDE the barn- so cool! I love all of the wood elements too- makes me want to go up to the mountains! I’ll bet you never would have guessed that this wedding was in FLORIDA, huh?! A big thank you to Leigh for sharing her wedding day with us, and to Jennifer Martin Photography for sharing the gorgeous photos too!

Now I’m curious- how many of you are having a rustic wedding? I know when I was planning my wedding, rustic weddings were pretty popular. Raise your hand if you’re a rustic bride! :)

Happy Friday everyone! Okay, I have been OBSESSED with this idea since I first saw it months ago! A beer wall, complete with taps and signs for each type of beer! Such an awesome idea for beer lovers, not to mention that it’s a pretty awesome piece of decor!

Isn’t that SO awesome?! What a great idea! This would be especially perfect for a backyard or farm wedding, don’t you think? I just love doing a bar/drinks in different ways. What other ways have you seen? Are any of you doing something different like this for your bar???

Well I don’t know about you, but this makes me want to go grab a beer! It is Friday after all right?! Have a great weekend everyone! :)

One of my favorite things is when a photographer says about a wedding, “It was very them.” And that’s exactly what Heidi Mitchell Photography said of Tiffany and Jeff’s Florida wedding, adding that it was “simple, sweet, and full of love for each other and their close families.” Tiffany wanted a simple, rustic wedding on a budget so she enlisted the help of family and friends to make the boutonnieres, hair pieces, centerpiece art work, and reception decor. She carried a locket with her grandmother’s photo and her shoes were signed by her parents in blue ink–her something old and something blue. Don’t you love that?

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

My wedding coordinator Lauren Salas was a huge help, and a close friend, Amber Nardino.

What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?

The most important thing I wanted to ensure was that everything was really true to who Jeff and I were. I wanted to be very involved in every detail of my wedding day and the vendors all pretty much stepped back and let me do things the way they were intended to be done.

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

My favorite thing about my wedding was probably my cake and the bonfire we had. My cake was flown in from BCakeNY and it was a huge hit. It looked beautiful and was delicious. My sister ordered it for me and it was such a huge blessing.

What is your best piece of advice for other brides?

1.) Do a first look. It was one of the best decisions we made. The day went seamlessly after that and it was such a beautiful and private moment. Also, the guests were grateful they didn’t have to wait to enjoy the reception after the short and sweet ceremony. 2.) Get pedicures the morning of and spend time with those you love. Rest and enjoy every minute and don’t worry about the details.

I love all the details and the simple little touches like photos of the couple in mason jars. How creative! A big thank you to Heidi Mitchell Photography for these beautiful photos and to Tiffany for sharing with us about her Big Day. By the way, brides-to-be, heed her advice–rest, enjoy every minute, and don’t worry!
