What or who helped you in your planning process /and or on your wedding day?

From the beginning I knew my Mom and I would be partners in planning my wedding. Not only are we very close with similar taste and style but we have dreamed and talked about my wedding for most of my life. I also was very blessed to have two other dear friends lay down their life to help me create, plan and execute my dream wedding.  One of them (Becky) is a long time family friend and is coincidently a brilliant wedding planner. The other (Pat) is a giving, loving and creative cheerleader in my life personally and also a dear family friend.

What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?

I wanted to work with people that I knew, loved and trusted. This was so key for me because both Becky and Pat were with me and my mom from the very beginning and caught my vision.  We had so many fun meetings and in the process of creating and crafting my wedding, we bonded even more.  All of this made the execution process the day of my wedding go so much smoother.  There was a plan and everyone knew it and was on board. Not to mention, they both have incredible taste, and I wanted to have their input and opinion on everything.

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! I thought that I would go a little out of the norm from the usual Tuesday posts and do a little something in the holiday “spirit”! Since I had a Valentine’s themed shoot last week, I thought that this elegant pink and gold wedding would be absolutely perfect to share with you all today! And bonus…. it’s pretty gorgeous! Lots of florals in this one, just like yesterday’s red wedding… you think it’s because so many fabulous flowers come in red and pink?? :) Oh and the bride Jessi is sharing some of her insight with us too! Let’s get this holiday of love (and beauty!) started, shall we?

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

Our wedding planner Bonny Bailey from The D-Tales definitely helped us most with the planning process and day of activities. She always made sure things ran smoothly and were taken care of, and that if there was an issue I never knew about it.

What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?

The most important thing to us when deciding who to work with was that they were people who could really execute our vision instead of turning it into their own. All of our vendors loved our concept and were willing to do whatever it took to keep us happy. It was also important that our vendors had worked together before. It really created a sense of comfort knowing that our vendors all got along and knew how to work together.

Did any of your vendors do anything special for you before, on, or after your wedding day that you would like to share?

Our wedding planner Bonny did quite a few special things for us on the day of the wedding. Her and I had discussed many times the garter that I had always pictured having. The day of the wedding I had a garter but not really the one I had always wanted, come to find out she actually HAND MADE the exact garter I had described to her. It was not expected at all but it was a beautiful surprise. She also decorated our wedding suite for us with rose petals and chocolates, which we knew nothing about. She really went above and beyond!

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

My favorite thing about our wedding was of course having all of our family and friends there to celebrate it with us. I also loved that every last detail of the day described my husband and I. The vendors really took our concept and expanded on it more than we could have ever imagined.

What is your best piece of advice for other brides?

My best piece of advice for other brides is :ENJOY IT! From the planning to the day of, there really isn’t anything worth being a ‘bridezilla’ about. Take a deep breath, hold your new husband’s hand and  cherish the moment.

Yep, I couldn’t have said it any better! ;) A huge thank you to Jessi for sharing all of her wonderful wedding insight with us, and to Tab McCausland Photography for capturing it all!

Alright, so how’s that for a Valentine’s feature? How about those fabulous centerpieces… and that CAKE! Love it! I’ll tell you what though- I am LOVING the pink and gold together! I really think we’ll be seeing a lot more gold this year. So now tell me… what other colors do you like to see with pink? And as for the gold… do you love it? :)

Have an amazing Valentine’s Day everyone! I LOVE you all! :)

Happy day-before-Valentine’s Day! On Friday we had a beautiful purple wedding as a little bit of a preview to get in the mood for Valentine’s Day. Well of course I want to keep the fun holiday going, so for the first half of this week, I’m going to share some weddings with you all that are in gorgeous Valentine’s colors! Today’s wedding is an elegant red wedding from ZoomWorks Photography. I must say… I’m kind of in love with the lace in the bride’s dress and her veil… and oh my goodness, all of the beautiful red flowers! Red is just so absolutely elegant, and this wedding will prove me right! :)

Um, is it really Friday? Yep, I suppose it is! Well, you all know what that means… Detail To Love time! :) I absolutely love seeing *different* things used for decor, particularly when they’re not normally associated with weddings. These embroidery hoops definitely fall into that category. If you think about it, they’re pretty awesome. You can put fabric or lace inside of them, hang them from something, put them on a wall, or even hang things FROM them (Remember the ribbon chandelier from this shoot? I used an embroidery hoop)!

Seriously, using embroidery hoops as decor is pretty great, right? It’s an excellent way to add in a good amount of decor and style to your wedding! So tell me… what do you all think of this idea? Anyone want to use something like this for your wedding??
