You guys. This wedding has SO much sweet, southern charm. From burlap to mason jars… but it doesn’t stop there. I love that the bride and groom also incorporated a BBQ-themed menu and capped the night off with s’mores for the guests. Seriously, not only does Kelsey and Edward’s wedding have all of those fun, southern details, but you can feel the life and love (hello high school sweethearts!) in every single photo from Graham Terhune.

From Graham, the photographer:

The bride and groom planned the entire event while juggling law school (her) and medical school (him.) They are high school sweethearts who have waited patiently for the perfect time to get married. Their celebration took place at Rock Quarry Farm on the most beautiful October afternoon. They sky was carolina blue (perfectly suiting for the two tarheel alums.) Kelsey and Edward planned the details themselves and they were perfect for the two of them. They served carolina bbq and had a bluegrass band (during the cocktail hour.) Rather than cutting a cake they had a dessert bar with desserts made from their aunts and grandmothers. We were captivated by the tremendous amount of joy that surrounded their day. Everyone was ecstatic that these two local North Carolinians were finally getting married.

You’ll never not hear me tell you how much I love personality and character in a wedding. It seriously is one of the biggest components that makes a wedding memorable for not only you, but your guests too!

What personal details are must haves for your big day?

xo,
Brit

Wedding Planning Advice: Hire A Coordinator! via TheELD.com

“Aside from hiring photographers with which you not only connect to their images, but them as people, hire a full-service wedding coordinator so you (and your mom) can be a guest at your own wedding! Other than that, relax and truly enjoy the process. The most important part is that you are marrying the person you *love*!”

This wedding that I have for you all today from Caroline & Evan Photography is absolutely gorgeous! The venue is stunning, the colors of blue and gold are fabulous together, and the bride and groom are positively glowing. All things that make up an awesome wedding if you ask me! Want to know what’s even better? The bride and groom are BOTH named Morgan! What are the chances of that?! I love what Caroline & Evan sent over about the couple and their wedding:

“Her Dad calls him Captain. Her best friend calls her Mo. But both of them are Morgan. You think it would get confusing more than it actually does. They are some of the most genuine people we have ever had the pleasure to work with and their love is so true. They went on a vacation in Italy where they got engaged, so Italian inspired wedding details- like gelato and cappuccino- came naturally.”

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

Although I took on the daunting task of doing most of the wedding planning myself, I had such a great support system of my (now) husband, family, and friends. They all helped with little projects here and there and most of all helped keep me balanced and hold things in perspective throughout the whole process.

What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?

We really wanted vendors who not only did quality work, but who we could trust to capture the vision of our wedding. I loved having individuals who I could trust taking the reins on the wedding day so I didn’t have to worry about a thing.

What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?

I have always been in love with the Italian culture. Everything from the language, to the food, to the historic architecture and beautiful scenery is just breathtaking. When my husband and I got engaged while on a trip to Italy in the summer of 2010 we knew right away that we wanted to somehow tie Italy into our wedding. Since we couldn’t afford to bring all of our family and friends to Italy, we decided to bring the best of Italy to them. An example was the table names which were all of the places we traveled to while we were overseas. Once we visited the Ca d’Zan Mansion in Sarasota, there was no doubt that bringing Italy to Florida would be completely possible.

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

It is so hard to pick just one thing from our wedding as my favorite, but I would have to say just getting married was the top. It was also such a blessing to be able to celebrate with so many of our friends and family and I loved hearing how awesome everything was from everyone and that it was ‘the best wedding they had ever been to’. Our friends still tell us that we should get married again so we can have another wedding. We wanted everything to be classic, romantic and beautiful, but also wanted everyone to have a blast celebrating at the reception. Mission accomplished!

What is your best piece of advice for other brides?

Start planning early and make sure to include your groom where he wants to be included. He may not care about the flowers, but I’m sure he’ll have something to say about the food you’ll be serving. Don’t forget it is his wedding too! Once you have everything finished and it is the wedding day, make sure to enjoy every minute of it. Find vendors that you can trust so that you can just enjoy being a bride on your wedding day. At the end of the day your wedding is all about love and celebrating your two lives coming together as one. Reflect on this and recognize the beauty of all the little moments throughout the day. It will definitely go by fast.

Thank you so much for sharing your insight with us Morgan, and thank you to Caroline & Evan for capturing this wedding so gorgeously!

The blue and gold is so elegant and chic together, don’t you think? And I wasn’t kidding about the venue- so very gorgeous! I love that they found a way to incorporate their Italy engagement into their details and the whole style and feel of the wedding!

Will any of you be having your wedding details or style inspired by your engagement or something else from your lives together?
