Every week, while I put together these posts, I can’t help but feel so thankful that I am in this industry. There is so much creativity and just plain prettiness that weddings bring to the world, and I just love it!

This wedding from Chantel Marie Photography is the very definition of what I just mentioned, and it’s just full of love and charm and little touches that bring it all together. The bride is absolutely gorgeous, and completely glowing! Not only that, but the pictures are beautiful. What a sweet way to remember an amazing day!

 From the bride…

My mom was undoubtedly the most wonderful help through the entire planning process. My old bedroom in her home was converted into a wedding locker so to speak. The day before and morning of the wedding family and friends provided much needed helping hands to transform our venue into a beautiful vintage inspired oasis.

I knew without hesitation that it would be my mom and I to the finish line. As far as the vendors we brought on board it was really just based of recommendations and online reviews ( very very helpful).

Endless google searches and a slight blog addiction fueled my “vintage elegance” theme. All the little details fell appropriately into place upon deciding on a theme. I do believe its important to not get overly themed as it can detract from what the day is all about. Keep it simple.

Reflecting back on the day my most precious memory was seeing my very soon to be hubby patiently waiting for me to make my way down the aisle. Having all of the people we care about most there to celebrate with us is a given as far as favorite things go.

The day is intended to be enjoyed. I can ensure you that something will not go according to plan, however, these moments are also the most memorable! I didn’t exactly say my vows the way I had rehearsed but looking back now I can laugh with my husband and say ” oh good heavens that was funny!”

Such lovely ways to use green! And how great is that bunting?

Green is quite popular this year- will any of you be using green in your own weddings?

Amanda and James’ beautiful mint and peach wedding in San Clemente, California, is a perfect example of a lovely handcrafted day! The couple started off their day with a private ceremony at the LDS Temple, and were greeted outside by friends and family. Then they had a ring ceremony (as rings are not part of a Temple wedding ceremony), with James’ father officiating. Lastly, they had a fantastic reception at The Historic Cottage, complete with a sweets buffet made by family and friends, and a bouquet and garter Dance Off!! And lucky for us, Paige and Blake Green were there to capture it all!

Can you believe all the sweets were provided by friends and family? Are any of you thinking of having a handmade wedding? What parts would you insist on having pros do, and what can you see yourself, your friends, and/or your family making happen?

Happy weekend everyone! I’m excited to introduce you to this week’s Vendor of the Week, South Florida photographer Elaine Palladino Photography! With a fresh perspective, Elaine and her husband Mike capture memories beautifully- see for yourself below!

Why do you see yourself as being Modern, Vintage, Classic, or Eclectic?

I see our photography as more timeless than anything else. Our goal is to make each picture stand the test of time so that when our couple’s grandkids look at their pictures, they feel just as fresh and full of love as when they were taken.

What is your favorite wedding detail you’ve ever seen or created?

Our favorite wedding details are those that are significant to the bride and groom and are not simply details for detail’s sake. The best details are those that are a reflection of the relationship between the couple and their love for each other or something that is significant to their families.

What is your favorite store or brand?

One of our favorite brands is Apple for their innovation and simplicity. Apple is a great example of what having vision can do for your brand. Even when they were not as popular, they did not lose sight of what they were about and are a better company for it.

What is your favorite thing about weddings?

Our favorite thing about weddings is the celebration of love. Weddings are just one big excuse to celebrate the love of two people and the joining of two families. Our favorite weddings are those that really focus on this and make every one of their guests feel like they are not only a part of their wedding but of their marriage as well.

What qualities do you possess that enable you to work well with brides and grooms?

I think the qualities that we (my husband and I) possess that help us work well with our couples are that we are considerate and genuinely care about our clients. Obviously, we have other qualities that are important, but it’s those two simple things that let us connect with our clients the most. We want them to have the wedding of their dreams and take care to make sure that their pictures are a true reflection of their day. We are also considerate of their guests and families. It’s an honor to be given the chance to photograph someone’s wedding and be so close to them throughout the day; we don’t take that for granted.

What steps do you take to ensure that your clients will have amazing wedding days when working with you?

We make sure that we are on the same page when it comes to the wedding timeline and family portraits. A few weeks before the wedding, we meet to discuss the day-of and to complete the wedding portrait list so that we don’t miss anything. Additionally, we encourage engagement sessions that do wonders in creating a good working relationship and to ease any nervousness.

Happy “Film Friday” everyone! We’re closing out this week with an amazing wedding film from Watertown Films! When I saw this one, tears were in my eyes within seconds. And when I got to the best man’s toast- oh my goodness. Goosebumps. Every. Time. Such an amazing story!

You Have to Play the Game from Watertown Films on Vimeo.

Craig and Nicole shared a little bit with us about Peter and Jamie’s story and their wedding:

“Peter & Jamie are sincerely one of the raddest couples we have ever worked with. Their incredible generosity and heart for bringing their friends and family together made for the most authentic, fun, and adventurous weddings we have ever been a part of. Their sincerity and desire to honor their guests for the role they played in their lives was evident in every thought-filled detail. They even had hand written letters on the tables for every single one of the 200 guests at the wedding reminiscing memories together and thanking them for being in their lives. Incredible! Their three day central Oregon adventure included a home brewed beer-tasting bus ride to a beautiful resort, a Korean BBQ night complete with poker tables and live dealers, floating the river, and lots and lots of amazing memories made with their closest friends and family. We felt honored that they would invite us into the fold that weekend and treat us, not just as guests, but as friends. They are delightfully easy-going and gave us absolute freedom and complete trust to create a film that truly captured the story of who they were and what brought them to this day. Peter and Jamie are not just clients- they have become good friends…and we couldn’t be happier!”

SO good, right?! Here’s a little glimpse of their photos from Sela Photography too:

I love all of the moments that Watertown Films captured. You truly feel like you were there, and it’s so wonderful to be able to feel Peter and Jamie’s love through the film! Love love love it! A big thank you to Craig and Nicole of Watertown Films for sharing this lovely wedding with us!
