Today’s pink and peach wedding from Emily Takes Photos is full of amazing details! From the fun colors and the vintage eclectic style, to the mismatched bridesmaid dresses and each table having a different centerpiece, everything about this wedding is so fun!

From the bride, Dabay:

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

Throughout the planning process, it was about 90% of my own work in terms of creative concepts, crafting, outlining, and scouring flea markets and thrift stores for the perfect items. My mom was great and helped with some of the more hardcore crafting, like making the 140 gold spray-painted kraft paper crowns, and prepping the bazillions of toilet paper rolls we had for the poppers. My husband also helped with our hand-stamped matchboxes and other small projects. On our wedding day, I had 3 truly amazing non-bridesmaid friends that handled my crazy Type A to-do list and spreadsheets. They executed everything perfectly. In terms of what helped me most throughout the planning process, it was definitely coming to terms with the fact that there would inevitably be something that wouldn’t go as planned; no wedding day is perfect. I think making peace with that, and also choosing vendors I could trust made it much easier to enjoy the planning process.

What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?

To be quite honest, staying true to our desired aesthetic (while sticking to a tight budget) almost completely determined who we could work with. Emily (our photographer) was the first vendor we chose, as I loved her work and had been following her career for quite some time. Photography was the most important aspect of the wedding for us, as it’s the only thing that lasts long after the big day, and it was definitely our biggest splurge. Many of our other vendors were friends, or friends of friends. Our knockout dessert table was created and executed by my cousin! Luckily, all of our vendors are great at what they do, and I knew early on we could trust them to do a fantastic job.

What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?

I was going for a soft, warm palette of blush, gold, ivory and bronze. Our bridesmaids picked their own dresses within that color scheme, and the majority of the details on the wedding day fell within that color scheme, as well. I’m also a huge vintage lover, so finding the perfect items for centerpieces and decor was important.  I invested so much time into finding true gems. From the beginning, I purchased all of the decor items with the intention of repurposing them for our future home, from the mason jars to the signage and frames. It was truly a labor of love, and I think if your let your heart guide you throughout the design process, you can’t go wrong.

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

Gosh, that’s tough! While I loved all of the details and photography, (especially our rad photo booth!) my favorite part of the wedding was when my husband and I stepped out to get some fresh air, just us. We took in all of our loved ones getting down on the dance floor, having a great time. It was overwhelming and surreal to witness just how much love we had on that day, and knowing that all those people were there to celebrate us. It’s so cliche, but also so incredibly true…your wedding day goes by in a flash, so make every moment count! It’s also good to take mental pictures a la Jim & Pam Halpert :)

What is your best piece of advice for other brides?

It’s so easy to get caught up in the planning frenzy, especially with all the fabulous wedding details out there. It’s stressful, and you will have moments of envy. But throughout the pinning, blogging and crafting, take time to breathe. Have designated “wedding-free” days with your partner. Stay true to yourself and don’t try to top all of the millions of weddings out there. Chances are, some things you want to do have already been done, but not the way you want to do them. Your ideas will be original because they’re part of your unique wedding. I also believe that the sooner you come to peace with the fact that you can’t control the weather, the more zen you’ll be!

Having “wedding-free days” is a great idea!!! Thank you so much for sharing your insight with us Dabay!

I love how each table had a different centerpiece- such a perfect way to do the “vintage eclectic” style! Are any of you doing all different centerpieces too?

From Shelley of Better Half Weddings:

“I loved the idea of bringing the Roaring Twenties to life here in South Florida. When people think of South Florida they automatically think of palm trees, white sand, and turquoise waters. I really wanted to bring the sophistication and class of the 1920s right here in our own backyard, without the tropical twist. I immediately thought of the perfect park, which happened to be nestled within my aunt’s neighborhood in Boca Raton called Charleston Place. The architectural details within the community are just stunning. You feel like you’ve stepped back in time and have been transported out of Florida; surrounded by South Carolina charm, hanging lanterns, fancy gazebos, and brick driveways, the community is stunning. With a background as a bridal stylist, I knew I wanted to borrow gowns & a flashy headpiece from Patricia South’s Wedding Center, because they’re known for carrying designers like Sue Wong that would nail the glitz & glamour flapper after-party dress I had imagined. It was our intention to bring the classic novel, The Great Gatsby, to life through a Speakeasy Bar with crystal decanters and whiskey tasting, a romantic dessert table decked out in 1920s flare, a cigar & scotch lounge, and ending with a bride + groom jazz dance off.”

Some of these ideas are amazing! I mean, a cigar and scotch lounge? If you’re wanting to have something a little different at your wedding, that is awesome!

So tell me- will any of you be taking a page from the past to inspire your own wedding?

I think this next wedding can be described in one word: FUN! To be fair, any wedding that involves peacock feathers is bound to be beautiful, but this is something else, let me tell you. Add in one gorgeous couple, a beautiful venue, fabulous photography from ArtPhotoSoul Photographers, and some major bling, and you know it’s going to be a fun night!

From the bride…

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

I think what helped me the most in my planning process was all the research I did and all the wonderful wedding blogs/websites out there. I also discovered Pinterest a few months after I was engaged and totally loved it.

What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?

I wanted professional and trustworthy people without “breaking the bank”.

What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?

I didn’t have a theme or specific style for my wedding at first, but I knew that I wanted an outside wedding/reception and kind of a “glam” feel to my wedding. I decided to go with fall colors, being that my wedding was set for November, but without using obvious colors like orange and brown. So I did some research and found jewel colors to be fall inspired. My fiance and I both loved the teal so I decided to pair it up with magenta, a combo I really loved. While searching for teal and magenta inspirations I came across peacock feathers. I fell in love with them and wanted to incorporate them in my wedding as subtle details. Through all my searches I also found crystals and chandeliers to be so beautiful and really wanted to incorporate them as well. I liked both details so much I decided to use them both. I ended up with a peacock/crystal inspired wedding.

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

That is a tough one! There are so many favorite things, details, moments, etc, that I can’t just pin point one. I loved our venue, our vows, my wedding dress, the flower girls’ tutus, our “hora loca” , which means “crazy hour” (we had dancers and it made the party so fun!), our puzzle sign in book…endless list!

What is your best piece of advice for other brides?

I think the best piece of advice I could give a bride is to relax and enjoy the process, but most especially on the wedding day. I think sometimes we get too get carried away with details and logistics and have to constantly remind ourselves that all the planning and details are to ultimately marry the man of our dreams.  On the wedding day, I urge all brides to simply forget about the details and simply enjoy the best day of your life. At that point there’s nothing you can do by worrying and stressing out. On my wedding day there were things  and details that were not exactly as “planned”, but i chose to “move on” and just enjoy my day! At the end of the day all that mattered was that I was marrying my prince charming.

Don’t you just love all the bling? This wedding looks like it was SO fun!
