Stephanie and Adam’s South Carolina wedding was a beautiful, sophisticated Fall affair, full of gorgeous florals and personal touches. A color palette of Fall inspired jewel tones in goldenrod, peach, and red set the stage perfectly to create a relaxed, garden party style setting for their guests to enjoy. Planning their Lexington day from Washington, D.C., Stephanie and Adam smartly enlisted the help of By Invitation Only…Event Planning & Design to make their dream day a reality, and we think the result turned out gorgeously! Lucky for us, Kickstand Studio was there to captured each and every detail, and Stephanie is joining us today to share her planning insight, so sit back and take it all in!

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

I must admit that I had a very specific vision of what everything would look like and how everything would go on the day of leading up to our wedding. I had grand ideas, but not a very clear direction for execution. My mom, Sandy, helped me weed through the countless inspiration photos and ideas, and Lacy Geary, our wedding planner from By Invitation Only in Columbia, SC, helped make my vision a reality. Everything ended up more perfect than I could have imagined.

What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?

Again, I knew what I wanted everything to look like in my head, but we needed lots of help planning, since Adam and I also lived in the Washington, DC area at the time. We ended up working with professionals who are all extremely creative and easy going, and could help execute my thoughts with very few details to go on. From the flowers to the invitations to the photography and videography, every piece fit together perfectly.

What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?

Think elegant, Fall garden party. One of the first things I chose were the bridesmaids dresses. That color, goldenrod, helped drive the jewel tone palette that we selected for the flowers and all of the printed pieces, like the invitations and programs. My husband, Adam, selected formal tuxedos for the groomsman, which set the perfect backdrop for all of the color in our photos with friends and family. Our florist, Sarah Shell from Fern Studio, turned the Country Club’s dining room into a garden wonderland with the addition of the tree centerpieces!

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

I have two favorite moments. First, Adam and I did a first look with our amazing photographer, Lucas Brown from Kickstand Studio, and it was the best decision we made. We had lots of casual time to walk around the Country Club grounds together before the ceremony and just be ourselves. I think it helped with nerves. My other favorite moment was at the end of the wedding ceremony, right before our first kiss, we did a big high-five! We had planned it in advance, but I think it shocked a few folks (in a good way), and really showed our personality as a couple – we were super pumped to finally be married!

What is your best piece of advice for other brides?

Soak it all in! The wedding day is about you and your soon-to-be life partner having a great time and enjoying yourselves. Let someone else handle all the details that pop up. And, eat your dinner! You selected the lovely menu – make sure you get some!

This captivating Caribbean themed destination wedding in Pensacola, FL is fun, beautiful, and colorful- all of our favorite things! The bride, Lindsey, chose a perfect color palette for their intimate wedding with the help of Emily Shannon of Sweet Pea Events. Their colorful, Caribbean theme came together beautifully thanks to bright, gorgeous blooms in hues of pink, peach and a touch of orange. We love how Alison Epps Photography captured the day, and the very last photo says it all, as Lindsey and Don’s faces are radiating with joy. After all, your wedding day is about celebrating your love & choosing to spend the rest of your life with your partner, and when you add some amazing vendors, they can absolutely help you make the most memorable day happen!

Emily Shannon with Sweet Pea Events was instrumental in the planning process and execution on the big day, especially with a destination wedding.

What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?

Someone that could be flexible. We wanted a destination wedding with our closest friends and family and we wanted them to enjoy their time celebrating with us. Emily did a phenomenal job helping us plan our wedding. Additionally our photographer also fit that flexibility. Alison Epps with Alison Epps Photography was willing to meet us in Texas for Engagement photos and worked with us to capture the right moments on our special day. Emily and Alison are both very talented and we were lucky to have this team to work with.

What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?

I wanted a beach destination wedding and could picture vibrant tropical flowers. The florist, Supposey, helped us select some gorgeous flowers. We got so many compliments and they made the pictures beautiful.

What is your best piece of advice for other brides?

To relax and enjoy the day. It sounds so cliché, but it’s super easy to focus on the unnecessary details. Also, chose vendors that fit your style. I was disappointed at first one of the photographers I wanted was booked and Emily reassured me that things happen for a reason. Sure enough, Alison Epps really suited more our style and we got some incredible shots and the wedding turned out amazing.

We are loving the organic, natural flow of this rustic Dallas wedding, and we’re pretty sure you will too! Bride and groom Kristin and Craig turned to Forever Events and Weddings to create their perfect rustic, modern wedding, and the beauty that was created at Avalon Legacy Ranch is definitely something to remember. Florals can be found all throughout this day- from gorgeous blooms in shades of pink and peach, to the pattern of the bridesmaids’ robes, each and every image is absolutely gorgeous. Hints of sparkle within table linens & glimpses of gold on the cake add the perfect amount of elegance to this rustic, garden inspired wedding… and you absolutely must see how breathtaking the ceremony location is! Oh, and of course we can’t forget about the couple’s adorable pup who made an appearance in their portraits! Thankfully, A Sea of Love was present to capture this stunning day, and we can’t wait for you to see it all for yourself!

We are loving how The Amber Studio brought the vision of Frida Kaholo (the Mexican painter famously known for her fascinating self portraits) to life in today’s elegant berry inspired wedding ideas. A theme of “Berry Bliss” echoes all throughout this inspiration- from red velvet sweetheart chairs and gorgeous flowers by Fox and the Fleur in shades of pink and red, to the beautiful bride herself. Vibrant colors bring to life the delicacy of the beautiful lace of her gown, and my personal favorite is her lush flower crown, as it truly represents a signature “Frida” look. This inspiration truly speaks to me as an artist, and I for one love the concept of finding inspiration in your favorite artists for your wedding design- I think I might do the same one day for my own special day (fingers crossed!).
