This lovely garden wedding took place in North Carolina and is filled with vintage details, gorgeous flowers, and a soft, romantic color palette. Soft pink florals and pale blue accents created a look that is absolutely stunning, and Faith Teasley captured it all perfectly! The gorgeous bride, Ashley, is here with us today sharing her wedding planning insights:
What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?
I could not have planned my wedding without my mom. Although we were miles apart, she was always sending me emails and pictures non-stop (all without a smart phone too!)
What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?
I was really looking for people who were nice and courteous; people who were willing to be very flexible with scheduling and open to suggestions. Faith was all of these and more!
What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?
My inspiration was for more of a vintage, elegant, romantic wedding. I read a lot of historical novels and collect antique postcards (which is why they were on the tabletops! Yes, even my husband, Jamey helps me look for those postcards) and I was inspired by the timelessness of everything. I wanted the focus to be on family and close friends, so a smaller, intimate wedding where everyone would be able to talk to each other and have a good time was very important to me.
What was your favorite thing about your wedding?
I have too many favorite things to list just one! Everything came together and getting to see Jamey waiting for me at the end of our “aisle” was something very special.
What is your best piece of advice for other brides?
My best piece of advice is to be true to your ideas and vision. Don’t try to do what is popular or “in” at the time; do what is important to you and your special someone, because that’s what the day is truly celebrating!
Excellent advice from Ashley! It’s important to keep in mind what you want for your wedding and not get caught up in trends and what you think you “should” have. Having a wedding that is what YOU want is so important!
I love how Ashley chose to have a vintage style for her garden wedding. Are any of you going to be incorporating vintage elements or style into your own wedding?
Vendors who made it all happen…
