I am in a major swoon over this delightfully Southern peach wedding from Richard Bell Photography. Set in the most charming of cities – Charleston, South Carolina – today’s soiree features the softest palette of peach and white with hints of burlap and the most scrumptious looking dessert table (Peach whoopie pies! Yum!). The lovely bride, Ashleigh, is here to give her planning insight…
What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?
To be honest, my husband! He was very supportive throughout the entire planning process and we really tried to have fun deciding on all the details. My mom and bridesmaids were also there every step of the way to give me honest opinions, calm me down if I got a little overwhelmed, and when I had to improvise when things didn’t turn out how I had planned. I also can’t leave out our wedding coordinator; she made sure everything went smoothly the week and day of our wedding so I didn’t have to worry about a thing except showing up and having a great time. I did have to remind myself everyday that the wedding should reflect us, and if we didn’t want to follow tradition and do something different – so be it!
What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?
It was really important for us to find local vendors that loved being a part of weddings. Our stance the entire way was to let the professionals do their job, and try to not to get in their way. After all, we weren’t their first (and certainly not their last) wedding, so we took their advice and direction every chance we got!
What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?
I really wanted our wedding to reflect us and the things we loved. From the day we got engaged, we knew we wanted a really romantic, soft look to our wedding. Living in Charleston, we also wanted our guests to experience the lowcountry way of life with amazing southern food and beautiful views; and at the end of the day, a party to help us celebrate our marriage! We couldn’t help but incorporate a little burlap, which added a little bit of a rustic feel to our design.
What was your favorite thing about your wedding?
Having our family and closest friends with us on one of the biggest days of our lives! It meant so much for our guests to travel from as far as California and up and down the east coast to help us celebrate for the entire weekend.
What is your best piece of advice for other brides?
Remember it is YOUR wedding day. You won’t be able to please everyone, but at the end of the day, do what makes you happy and have fun with it!
Great advice! I love all of the miniature details in this wedding. Specifically the mini-hearts used as a guest book. I think it would be so fun to open all of the heart notes on your first married Valentine’s Day! How about you? Are you planning a creative way to collect your guests’ signatures? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
Happy Planning!

There are so many great details but I just love the cake topper!
I love the bridesmaid dresses! The gown is nice, it flatters the body type of the bride. The decorations are also great!
Such a lovely and pretty day. We especially adore the soft peach colors!
