Andrea and Kevin celebrated their love with a California wedding nestled in the green hills and majestic redwoods at the beautiful and historic Brazilian Room located in Berkeley, California.
Their color palette of blush, ivory, and royal blue looked so lovely paired with fresh summer flowers, and the gorgeous lace details of Andrea’s bridal gown. We love that Andrea and Kevin chose to add some contrast from their ceremony and reception floral style, and Poppy’s Petal Works created this beautifully. Adding pops of coral peonies into bouquets and the ceremony arch added a fun punch of color while allowing the muted tones to remain a focal point for the elegant reception. With the guidance of Belle La Vie Events, this couple pulled together a beautiful day of celebration with touches of personal details, and Christine Glebov Photography captured their day beautifully! The bride, Andrea, shared some extra insight into what made their day so special below. We hope you enjoy!
Tell us a little a bit about your wedding (your vision, color, style, and location choices).
Kevin and I both agreed that we wanted our venue to be quiet and peaceful with some element of nature. After looking at many venues, the Brazilian Room just seemed perfect. In full sun or with a big a fog, it was always so beautiful and calm whenever we went. We wanted more of a soft romantic style, so the blush paired with navy worked perfectly.
What was the most important to the two of you while planning? Was there anything that you chose to splurge on or skip?
We chose to splurge on flowers after seeing the beautiful work by Poppy’s Petalworks. I also decided to design our stationery and signs myself, in order to have a more personalized feel.
What were your favorite parts of the day?
Seeing friends and family from all over come together to celebrate with us was truly one of the best parts of the day.
Describe any DIY, handmade, or personal details.
All wedding stationery and signs were painted and hand-lettered by me. We also included our parents’ wedding day portraits on our welcome table. I also included small milestone signs with how long we had been friends, been dating, and been engaged.
What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?
Our wedding planners were crucial to helping find all our vendors and make sure the day ran smoothly!
We love that Andrea and Kevin prioritized their budget for their wedding day into the things that were important for them to splurge on and saving in other areas. Every couple will have different prioritize, but figuring out what is important to you on your wedding day is such a help when determining where to spend your budget.
What areas are your splurge areas versus where you anticipate to save for your wedding day?
