When a style or trend is seen everywhere from the runways to home decor, we know it’s only a matter of time before it starts inspiring wedding style. We love that Something Perfect chose to create this gorgeous Italian inspired wedding design, inspired entirely by soft grey tones.
From Something Perfect Weddings, “A few designers showcased gray wedding dresses this season which inspired us to plan this shoot. With a love for gray dresses but not much availability, we sought out Meagan Kelly to create a custom dress complete with lace and gorgeous beading.” The gown from Meagan Kelly Designs was an absolute show stopper for this wedding design. With a soft and romantic style, but in a hue that leaves us in awe, we love how this subtle tone offers something unique and different without feeling like a huge leap from a classic wedding style.
An amazing team pulled off this Italian inspired look at Hotel Domestique located in the Blue Ridge Mountains. It offers a mix of old world charm with modern touches, and they pulled in those elements throughout the design. New Creations Flower Company created lush, organic florals, complete with olive branches, while Delighted Calligraphy completed the bride’s bouquet with a marble ribbon donning the quotes “Tu sei l’union per me” (you are the only one for me) and “Per sempre tua” (forever yours) in an elegant script.
We loved this insight into the design from Something Perfect:
“The tablescape was complete with a grey linen and blush napkins combined with a family-style dinner service and, of course, wine. For cocktail hour, a wine and cheese tasting was in order. With wine from all across Italy paired perfectly with the region’s cheeses. Guests selected a wine glass for the tasting that also served as their escort card. The night wouldn’t be complete without dessert and coffee. A gorgeous whimsical gray cake from WOW Factor Cakes paired with a custom coffee bar from Event Espresso Catering. The portable espresso bar adds a fun touch to the evening with gourmet mixers and specialty coffee drinks. Custom coffee sleeves with the couple’s monogram were the ‘icing on the cake.'”
So many intentional details, and this team pulled them together in such a beautiful way. We think you’ll love how Samantha Laffoon Photography captured the romance and whimsy of this Italian inspired style… and now we must go look up flights to Italy.
We love this grey-inspired style, and we’re definitely hoping it’s a trend that hits the wedding scene soon. We think the subtle grey hue for a bridal gown is a definite DO, and we’d love to see more of it.
